He was leaning on stuff because he had a back problem. I also heard that those original uniforms were super tight and bad on the back. Also, I found it's best to not think about folks as stupid. Some are stupid and they can't do anything about it. They just aren't bright and some folks are willfully ignorant and that's two different things.
I hate that Tasha like the love interest for like 4 doods. I'm so sick of it. I don't care if she's pan go for it. It's just really annoying. Ever since I rewatched that weird ep with the African nation triable planet it's been pissing me off since.
I always thought this was a very TOS style episode, especially the part when Riker sits and laughs his ass off, because he now has the ability to do anything to anyone to anytime, if it was me, Id be like Thanks guys, serving on this ship has been fun, but Im going now, then have real trouble using the power because I cant click my fingers for some reason, always find it difficult.
Personally, I've always believed that Q just likes to fuck with the crew of the Enterprise for the hell of it.
Would've been interesting to see Riker spend more time grappling with his new Q powers. Basically he just refused to resurrect a dead child, trolled Picard for 5 minutes, then tried to become cosmic Santa and failed miserably.
Riker put his leg up on things because of a back injury giving Frakes back pain when standing for too long.
Hmm that must explain why he always walked funny.
Funny how that works. Frakes has back pain, but Riker has style. Harrison Ford gets diarrhea, but Indiana Jones just wants to end a fight quickly and uses a gun. And so on. The character's quirks cover their actor's disabilities.

I came over from your Buffy reviews. It is incredibly evident you both vastly prefer Star Trek TNG over Buffy. I’m enjoying your reviews of both. You both have a great sense of humor and timing.

I would have kept the powers and used them for good.
For all the omnipotent beings they encounter, I don't think it would hurt to have someone on board who was omnipotent. At the very least limit the powers for situations involving omnipotent beings.
I'm not surprised that Geordi looked at Tasha Yar. He's a grown man who just got his first chance to look at a woman!

Probably be like 6 of those dudes from the Code of Honor episode, as well as the chick she fought. ....her childhood must have caused some real issues.
I didn't know Roddenberry was obsessed with what sex would be like in the future. I figured they just put in these little sexy elements because it's a TV show and they add this stuff to get ratings so they don't get cancelled. Like when they tried something new with Enterprise and got Trip and T'pol to strip down whenever possible.
The show is about Q's game. Hide and seek is a game.

I’m so tired of StarTrek. I love it, but I’ve grown weary of what it has become in the last 5 years. Thanks, I need this. I’ve gotten tired of rewatching the episodes I like.

Ohhh, THIS is the "monster things" episode. This is the episode that when it aired, we stopped watching the show entirely, until towards the end of season 3. By then, thankfully, it was much much better than a lot of these first series episodes. This had to be the worst from S1. This, is also the episode we picked up a disdain for Frakes' Ryker character, that never quite went away. Even Frakes himself admits he's not a good actor. Yah. We agree.
No beard Riker episodes are forgettable mostly.

and episode 1 was decent, and if you never saw star trek before. its actually a great intro into the infinite possibilities the trek universe offers, and how childish we all are even the Q act like children, they just have authority/power
