Spatan exp Well, considering Doctor Who has been around for 50+ Years, I think it's safe to say that Doctor Who probably has more of a following and a larger amount of stuff in the established wibbly-wobbly canon.
Andrew Ford Halo has a very large following worldwide probably wider than doctor who, which mainly just the uk. Star wars and star trek probably have a larger following because not everyone is a gamer but star trek is boring in my opinion.
Christian Garcia I never stated that Doctor Who was more popular than Star Trek or Star Wars, as I was replying to Spartan exp's comment, who explicitly mentioned Halo. Although, to be fair, Doctor Who has an expanded universe of it's own that is quite large. Not quite the same as Star Trek's or Star Wars', but it's unquestionably bigger than Halo's. As for it's following, Doctor Who isn't just big in the U.K it's massive in the U.S, Australia, New Zealand, several European Countries and it's slowly beginning to take other nations by storm. It's been the No.1 downloaded series on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's iView player for the past several years, the most watched program on BBC America and has the Guinness World Record for the largest ever simulcast of a TV drama, after the 50th Anniversary special was broadcast in 94 countries across 6 continents. As for you statement Spartan exp, I think that you're out of your depth when it comes to Doctor Who's involvement outside the UK. A massive official convention called the Doctor Who Festival was recently hosted in Sydney, where thousands upon thousands of people turned up over two days to see the cast and crew explain how the show is made. In earlier years, there have been events such as the Doctor Who World Tour and the Symphonic Spectaculars; each of which have been completely chockablock with fans. How do I know? Because I've been to practically all of them. Last time I checked, Halo didn't host events like that outside of the United States and it hasn't been breaking any international records within the same scope as Doctor Who. And you know what the funny thing is? Most of this was accomplished in the past ten years since the series' revival in 2005. So, maybe that 50 Year thing wasn't necessary to say at all.
And Star Wars can be summed up with "don't join the dark side". Both have their own complexity, but star wars focus more on action and star trek more on pondering the condition of life and the galaxy. Plenty of people are fans of both, and for good reasons =)
@@Luxai I haven't seen any Star trek series but Star wars really isn't complex , It's the same old dark side vs light side plot over and over again which centers around only one family.
"Clone wars cartoon and the original three movies. Except the Ewoks, they're dumb." My thoughts exactly. Star Trek is nerdier. If it isn't, explain why the old die hard fans are so pissed off about the new ones with science fantasy rather than science fiction?
hunterkiller1440 Fantasy vs Scifi has nothing to do with how "nerdy" either is. In fact, they're both pretty damn nerdy. They just come from different literary traditions with different fundamental premises that shape the story and the characters. Fantasy stories tend to have set premises that the characters cannot violate, and those characters are generally ordained to succeed or fail by fate, are often composed of gods, demi-gods or super-humans (in Wars' case, just being genetically superior is enough it seems) though not always, and generally are beyond criticism as a premise of the story. Science fiction allows for story premises which can be questions or even changed by the characters, and those characters are themselves generally ordinary, fallible (in fact an entire subgenre of scifi revolves around this idea), and navigate the story with tools and abilities available to the average person. ST09 and STiD were neither, and frankly, I would have felt cheated as a Wars' fan had either been a Wars movie instead, because ST09 was a weak and unremarkable action flick, fun but forgettable, and STiD was just atrociously bad cinema and story in every regard.
Wow this was so well done with an accurate ending and everything. Can't believe I haven't seen it before now. Too funny through and through, both sides got it so good.

"Your special effects are laaaaaame!" "That's not the point!" "Yes it iiiiis!" I think the best part of Vader's last part is that if you wear headphones, you can hear him going from one side to another XD
Yes, but TOS's special effects were still pretty good for a TV show at the time. They didn't have a big budget like TNG did but they certainly did a good job on the effects.
Obvious bias here, but I always found something quite pleasant about Star Trek's effects. Except for insurrection though that was around the time of weird switches from practical to CGI.

Daniel Bradley I guess it would be if you're actively looking for it, but to me it was just Riker being Riker. I always found the way he moved to just be subtle, he's nowhere near in your face about it as it is in this video.
People have pointed out how little sense The Force Awakens / The Last Jedi's politics are. The Republic is just wiped out from existence in one attack and then it's right back to just being a desperate resistance, even though they should have full support, thus shouldn't be the rebellion in this case. It was a lazy effort to remake the plot of the original films.
Assuming the OP is talking about prequel politics, then I thoroughly agree. I genuinely believe that the rise of the Empire, though boring, is an interesting and even plausible look at how a dictator can come to power. This is something that many fictional movies struggle with.

Question - Which is Nerdier: Star Wars or Star Trek?
Answer - Doctor Who
+Andrew Ford Answer: Halo
Spatan exp
Well, considering Doctor Who has been around for 50+ Years, I think it's safe to say that Doctor Who probably has more of a following and a larger amount of stuff in the established wibbly-wobbly canon.
Andrew Ford Halo has a very large following worldwide probably wider than doctor who, which mainly just the uk. Star wars and star trek probably have a larger following because not everyone is a gamer but star trek is boring in my opinion.
+Christian Garcia That's not at all what he's saying. hes saying that doctor who is the nerdier show, regardless of how long its been around.
Christian Garcia
I never stated that Doctor Who was more popular than Star Trek or Star Wars, as I was replying to Spartan exp's comment, who explicitly mentioned Halo.
"Be nice to Data and don't be racist to aliens, there I've solved Star Trek"
He's right though.
And Star Wars can be summed up with "don't join the dark side". Both have their own complexity, but star wars focus more on action and star trek more on pondering the condition of life and the galaxy. Plenty of people are fans of both, and for good reasons =)

hunterkiller1440
Fantasy vs Scifi has nothing to do with how "nerdy" either is.

Yes, but TOS's special effects were still pretty good for a TV show at the time. They didn't have a big budget like TNG did but they certainly did a good job on the effects.

Star Trek politics blows Star Wars out of the Water.
