This can absolutely ALSO HELP AUTISTIC ADULTS- it’s not too late for us - FOR everyone’s information- most people like this speaker forget that autistic children soon become autistic adults.

    Happy New Year 2022 again.
I was wondering what is causing my son to gibberish instead of using real words.
Sometimes real words come out, but 99% his scripting is gibberish

I am a mother to a 16 yr old with ASD, insomnia and behaviors. and just learning about the polyvagal theory, regulation and co regulation. I am amazed to find most of my what my son displays fits with the polyvagal theory. "regulation" or sensory dysregulation" leading to immune issues, GI issues, insomnia, behaviors. transition issues, freeze response, lack of motivation etc everything. I am looking for ways to gently help with vagal exercises to get him out of hte dorsal vagal /freeze response. But he is not able to meditate or do breathing exercises on cue. Are there any resouces or ideas you have to help with vagal or somatic regulation exercises that can help with people on the spectrum who have motor planning issues? TIA

Can you tell me about the external stimulus option? I have an estim device for micro current dermal use. Is this similar enough? I rarely use it as it was a gift & beauty treatment for myself is entirely not me time that I make space for. Thanks.
