I tore down my entire dash to fix the blend door motor. Didnt even realize I pulled this wire out when pulling the radio calling out. Put everything together and the airbag light kept coming on and staying on. You are the man for showing this. Found the wire and pkugged it in and now everything works. Thanks man
Great video. After cleaning up the area and adding the dielectric grease, I recommend turning that unit upside down when you reinstall it. This will help prevent water from getting inside the connector when the car is washed or driven in the rain.
Absolutely fantastic you diagnosed my air bag light without even having the truck!!!! I was doing some stereo work and disconnected that little light above the radio. I just reconnected it after seeing this and VOILA!! NO MORE AIRBAG LIGHT!! I hate to think how much the dealer would have charged to diagnose. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
I believe I have one of these issues just haven't looked yet. I just wanted to mention that if I ever have an issue your videos always come through. THANK YOU!
Man, you just saved me - I got the light in on my 2004 F150 FX4 and had checked the fuses but had no idea on what to do other than take it into the dealership. I checked the sensor up front under the hood and it looked pretty clean and appeared in good condition. I then pulled off the center dash piece in the truck where the passenger air bag warning light is and checked that connection. Turned out that the plug on the back of that light was not fully connected. I plugged it back up and everything is working. Thanks a million!
@@victorarcos6178 The center dash piece is just snapped in and if I remember right, all you have to do is pry from the bottom and wiggle it off being careful not to pull and funny angles and break stuff. Its been a long time but I remember it being easy. I am sure there is some youtube vids out there of someone else pulling it off. Then once you have that removed, the connector for the airbag sensor light is very obvious. Just unplug and then reconnect to make sure it is connected.
I replaced the stock stereo in my 05 and now the airbag light won't turn off. Is there something else to do to clear it or is it for sure not connected right?
Love your videos. Explanations are clear, you're thorough, and professional. Thank you. Just changed the front sensor on my Lincoln Navigator. Worked like a charm.
Man you've saved me alot of money on watching your videos I thank you since 06 models and up every word you said. As long as i had the parts I've made it all work bro thanks you made me a mechanic pretty much
I've been looking for this sensor for over a year, finally found and ordered one from CarID. They sent an email yesterday stating that they made a mistake and are no longer carrying it, that seems to be very common these days. I've had it happen 3x in the last month, 2x for a harmonic balancer, and 1x for the crash sensor.
Does anyone have a picture of the airbag light cabke/connector? I took apart my dash 2x in a week to fix thr blend door on the a.c. and never remember unplugging said light but I can see there are to little prongs.
Brian I don’t know if you will see this question. But before I ask, I have to thank you for sharing your knowledge and for the years of help you have provided whilst working on both of my 11th gens. I can’t express how invaluable you are to all of us worldwide. Question: I’m getting a blinking code of 1 and 9 or 19. And the scanner is showing a p2293 restraint system air bag fault. I swapped out the driver air bag, checked the passenger light and wiring, swapped out the crash sensor, and inspected the harness/plug for damage and haven’t had any luck solving the issue. In your experience have you ran into this issue? Thank you in advance for your time and assistance
I have a 2004 F150 and have a 4 2 code. I checked the front crash sensor. It looks brand new no corrosion at all. You said there is one inside. Where and how do I replace/repair it Thanks Donn
Hey Brian. How you doing. Ted of NC here. Helping my nephew out with his 04 F150 Supercab Lariat 4 x4. His speedometer not working and low beams inoperable, temp guage not working. Removed steering column covers . Replaced dimmer switch . Still no low beams. Turns out the multiple wire connection under the steering column where the low beam wire was had a short. I corrected that. But after putting every thing back together the airbag light on cluster comes on and blinks slowly. Help! Lol Only trouble codes were emissions related. By the way at first the OBD port was dead. Fuse was blowed. Blinker kick off doesn't work either. Lol Found the wire connections under the driverside under the truck on outside of frame under a cover. They were encased in dried on mud. Carefully cleaned off that, then disconnected the 2 connectors and sprayed with CRC electrical cleaner. Then reconnected. At first fuel guage , which was working, stopped working. After several attempts of pushing the connections off and on the fuel guage thankfully started working again. I replaced the transmission output speed sensor and the differential speed sensor. Still no speedometer operation. Did a guage sweep. All guages went all the way to right and back left. Still no speedometer. Slight twitch only. Reattempted guage sweep numerous times. Part of the time the temp and speedometer goes all the way right then back left to 110 mph and temp to middle. I'm asking if you could share any insight on 1) Airbag light, 2) Speedometer and temp guage issues. Thanks in advance Hope you and the family are surviving the heatwaves.😊
yet another thing to fix with my POS ford I mean I love the availablility of parts but this thing has been nothing but problems i'll get a toyota next time
I can testify. Yesterday I had a accident and it wasn't a dead center hit and no airbags deployed. And as bad as it was they were shocked they didn't deploy, tested them and they are working. So if your going to wreck bad I guess aim for the bullseye dead center of your 2008 Ford lariat truck.
code flash 1 pause 8flash .. if the center Passenger Airbag Off indicator light doesn't come on, well thats most likely what needs to be replaced.. $18 OEM part and easy. The PAO is located above radio, pop center panel and 3 screws out.
What about when the light isn't illuminating at all upon startup? Or illuminates on startup one time, and then won't the next? Could this be a crash sensor issue or just a loose bulb? My passenger warning light works as it should, and my chime has been totally disabled by a previous owner so I have no clue as to if it is giving the 5x5 beeps.
rod7071 Got it done and it solved the problem It took all day The sensor was rusted and corroded to the truck and the bolt snapped off It was a long day! lol Thanks again for posting FordTechMakuloco!

Have a 2010 f150 Canadian truck. Have an airbag light (on solid all the time, no codes) and did your suggestions in the video. Found the driver side front crash sensor was intermittent. The part number on the 2 parts are 9L34-14B006-BB. Found some parts with the last 2 letters as AB or AC. Does it matter which I get? Thanks for the video.
I have some stupid questions if you feel like affording me time for an intelligent answer anyway. My truck is an 08 F150 and I'll be chasing B2293 eventually as I have more time. For now, I was able to at least do a data capture of the airbag PIDs with my tired old MODIS. I'll eventually need to follow through with fluctuating resistance on two PIDs. One of those PIDs is a mystery to me and it shows up as ABBRGR both in my MODIS and IDS. The IDS labels it as the "bracket ground resistance" PID. My questions would be; what does that PID mean and what am I looking for to diagnose it? All I can tell you from this end is it likes to spike between 30-40 Ohms with no particular rhyme or reason. I doubt it would matter, but I'll tell you about the other PID just in case it's relative. The other PID is DABAGR for driver's side airbag module resistance. That PID is fluctuating 3-6 Ohms and I think I should be able to fumble my way through that one on my own. Thanks in advance for your time.
My 04 f150s been bathed in salt for 17 winters, guess I'll check the sensor in front of the radiator, cluster air bag lights been on for years, thanks much, pray for me.
Will this also cause the airbag light not to illuminate when you put the cluster in test mode and test the lights. 2008 no srs light and light will not turn on during cluster test.
I got airbag code 42 for the front sensor. Replaced it along with the pigtail but the light is still on. I soldered the connections, cleaned everything up, used dielectric grease. Wondering what else could be wrong.
I have 2006 f150 and i am getting code 18 dash board airbag light does not come on i believe that previous owner had new sound system installed and cable may not have been reconnected. Removed center console panel and found cable was disconnected. Thank you for help
I do not have the airbag light on the inst clister. The passenger light proves out and i have a new front crash sensor but still gets beeping. Where can i find a print or is there something else i can check?
I have a 2008 grand marquis, airbag light on dash flashes 8 times pauses then flashes 1 time. The code is 81 and it says, Air bag fault (driver squib 2 open/ high resistance fault). Where would this be located and how could I fix this?
I found an 05 Expedition Limited for a really good price, but when I called the used car dealership, the salesman said don't waste your time on it, because it has an airbag light on and 2 guy s came and didn't want nothing to do with it. So My question is. Do 05 Expeditions have this same problem as the F-150s
I have a 2003 Ford Expedition with the airbag code 49. I know this is related to the drivers seat position sensor. Do I need to buy another sensor? I have looked several times for loose wires with no luck.
Replaced the sensor and the pigtail, still get code 42 on and off every few days on a 06 F150, I’ve cleaned up the bolt but I’m thinking about replacing it, can’t find any info on the 4 dots indicating a special coating on the bolt, can I replace with a standard zinc or chrome bolt?
I was putting the aux cable on my 2004 f150 and didn't watch the video all the way and it told me not to disconnect the cable that tells you the passenger airbag is on or off over the stereo and now my air bag light is on. It flashes 1 time then pauses then 8 times then pauses then repeat. Any suggestions?
My mechanic said its a ford issue and i really dont wanna take it to them. He blamed it on wiring probly my own fault mention8ng a previous front crash. Note: i have put a new front xlip 9n a few yesrs ago.
My 07 fx4 looks like someone used a diode to bypass the seatbelt clip sensor but i keep getting the airbag light flashing 3+3 flash supposedly the passenger sensor issue but center console passenger light works and last time it did this it only lasted a week or 2 before going away
We’re you getting a 42 flash on it and what was it. I have an 03 expedition and use it only for family trips now and teaching teen daughter to driving.
I replaced it and now I’m hearing 5 chimes and the light for the passenger air bag lights up in beginning but doesn’t stay on if no one is sitting beside me! What else could it be
06 F150 front airbag light on and flashing 42. Checked the sensor, all corroded and cracked. Ordered the oem parts, new pigtail and sensor. After installing the light is still on or flashing? The passenger airbag lamp is lit when the truck is started. How crucial is maintaining the exact pair twist when making the new pigtail? One other strange occurance....the light was never on until i had my truck appraised at a dealership for trade-in value. Is there anything someone could have done to make this happen? Do i have to take it somewhere to have the codes reset? Thanks for the AWESOME video instruction.....You have saved me tons in labor. This is the first project that hasn't been successful.
doesn't relate to this video but any reason why my dome lights, door chime don't come on. also the radio doesn't shut off when I remove the key. 2004 f150 lariat
I want to first thank you for all your videos they're very helpful. I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction I have a 2004 F150 that is doing the five sets of five beeps. the passenger side airbag light works the airbag light in the instrument cluster does not come on but The LED in the cluster still works. If I take the cluster out and put it back in the light will flash some but by the time all the trim is reinstalled it will not flash more. I know you can't diagnose just buy what I told you but is there a certain thing that causes the five sets of five beeps?
Short answer is yes. The clock string was bad in the steering wheel. And since the light on my dash would not illuminate you get the five sets of five beeps letting you know you have an airbag issue. If the light on my dash would stay lit it would not beep. I need to send my instrument cluster off to get re-soldered to fix that light and stuff like parking brake light staying on
Hi, I have a 2000 ford expedition xlt. My airbag light on lower right dash is flashing 3 times, pause then flashing 7 times. Are you able to advise what airbag code 37 is? Thank you.....
Hello FordTechMakuloco. The left front impact sensor on my 1996 Ford F150 XLT 5.0 L is corroded badly causing the SRS indicator to flash a 45 code. Also the ABS indicator is displayed. I went to the junkyard and purchased a replacement that appears to be intact with slight surface corrosion. How do I test the impact sensor to determine if it is functional? The sensor has a Ford UPC label with part number F5TB-14B005-AB. Thank you for your assistance and instructional videos.
i have a 2005 dodge dakota with 42k on it my airbag light came on when i started my truck last night plus my center console airbag light is staying on for airbag x2 saying its off for the passenger side both lights are staying on.
Dungeons Dragons .. Did you get a recall notice? theres a recall on those vehicles 2005 to 2011. might want to check that out. call them they can check if theres any recall open .
I’ve got a couple questions about my 2016 f150 the airbag lights on and my dash buttons for the heater and my front 2 windows won’t roll down do you think that would be my module?
Hi Makuloco i have a 06 explorer xlt & the airbag light just comes on while driving & it stays for a bout 10 min then it's of , the problem is the light is not flashing to give a code in that year & i don't have an obdi2 reader to see the code , what could be the reason for the light to come on ,
There is nothing common for those years, you really need to get the code read by a shop at least otherwise it can get quite expensive. One thing I can tell you is to watch and make sure the PAD light above the radio comes on at startup and proves out or not that is the only common thing I can think of. See what the code is and let me know.
On my 2004 f150 some times the airbag light will come on but allway i drive it it will make a sound like its the seatbelt but its not that it sound like 5time then stop like in 20 minutes it will sound agen
I have a code 33 showing up on my 06 F150 and am having issues diagnosing. Any tips? My dash indicator lamp is ok, it lights up on start and sometimes stays on and sometimes not.
I have the same issue. I have not replaced the sensor. How tough is it to do?Can you clean it up to see if that fixes beeping? If so How do you clean it?
@@joesmith-fi1sx mine ended up being a loose connection for the indicator light. I went ahead and replaced the bulb for it, while I was at it, but the plug had worked it's way loose. That circuit has to be complete or you will get an Airbag fault/passenger airbag light. It had just enough contact to light the bulb, but not enough to satisfy the system. Hope that helps...
I'm having a code 34 on my 2004 F150 and the service writer at the dealership told me that was for the cooling fan. I looked up the code 34 and it has something to do with the seat belts.
My 07 ford fusion airbag light on. It dnt flash just when i turn the car on the pass light comes on thn the the air bag light staus on the insterment panel
Most of the time on a fusion it is due to low battery voltage setting a B2290 code. I would make sure you battery is not low with the cold and replace. if needed.

I replaced it and now I’m hearing 5 chimes and the light for the passenger air bag lights up in beginning but doesn’t stay on if no one is sitting beside me! What else could it be
Great vid
Thanks man!!
Is there a part number to order a replacement bulb/led for the bezel? I cant find one anywhere and mine is burned out '05 f150
Montana Barrowcliff It is part of the bezel you could solder a bulb in there from radio shack or something.
doesn't relate to this video but any reason why my dome lights, door chime don't come on. also the radio doesn't shut off when I remove the key.

Hello! did you solve this problem?? i have exactly the same problem
Short answer is yes. The clock string was bad in the steering wheel. And since the light on my dash would not illuminate you get the five sets of five beeps letting you know you have an airbag issue. If the light on my dash would stay lit it would not beep. I need to send my instrument cluster off to get re-soldered to fix that light and stuff like parking brake light staying on
Hey bud, will an inoperative bulb in Cluster do that too? On 06 F250
Hi, I have a 2000 ford expedition xlt. My airbag light on lower right dash is flashing 3 times, pause then flashing 7 times. Are you able to advise what airbag code 37 is? Thank you.....
+Anthony Wright it can be four different faults with the passenger side air bag assembly depending on the actual code read from the RCM.
+FordTechMakuloco. thank you
2001 Ford Windstar with a flashing airbag light with a 23 Code. Can you tell me what that is?
I have a 4-9 code on a 2005 F 150? Any suggestions?
your video's are awesome. I have a 2002 F150 that gives a code of 1 9 please help.
+Robert Hirsche code 19 means the crash memory is full inside the RCM and it must be replaced.
Awesome vid 👍👍👍
Hello FordTechMakuloco. The left front impact sensor on my 1996 Ford F150 XLT 5.0 L is corroded badly causing the SRS indicator to flash a 45 code. Also the ABS indicator is displayed. I went to the junkyard and purchased a replacement that appears to be intact with slight surface corrosion. How do I test the impact sensor to determine if it is functional? The sensor has a Ford UPC label with part number F5TB-14B005-AB. Thank you for your assistance and instructional videos.
i have a 2005 dodge dakota with 42k on it my airbag light came on when i started my truck last night plus my center console airbag light is staying on for airbag x2 saying its off for the passenger side both lights are staying on.

im having the exact same problem on my 2016 f150
I have a very nice 1990 Crown Vic. It's giving me a code of 10 which is the front sensor, would your tips apply to this car when removing/replacing?
Yes the same applies.
Thanks for your reply, now if I could just find one!
Thank you for that information I have a 04' Exhibition and I'm gathering its the same thing
What if I don’t see continuity through the light? I don’t get the light at all and I’m not getting the airbag light
my ford f 150 stx 2006 light is on air bag code 3-4, i don't know what to do!

Hi Makuloco
i have a 06 explorer xlt & the airbag light just comes on while driving & it stays for a bout 10 min then it's of , the problem is the light is not flashing to give a code in that year & i don't have an obdi2 reader to see the code , what could be the reason for the light to come on ,
There is nothing common for those years, you really need to get the code read by a shop at least otherwise it can get quite expensive. One thing I can tell you is to watch and make sure the PAD light above the radio comes on at startup and proves out or not that is the only common thing I can think of. See what the code is and let me know.
My air bag light on the dash cluster does not come on and my seat belt buzzer goes off 5 beebs 5x what does that mean
Did you happen to receive an answer to this question?
@@dustinmontognese2978 no not yet
On my 2004 f150 some times the airbag light will come on but allway i drive it it will make a sound like its the seatbelt but its not that it sound like 5time then stop like in 20 minutes it will sound agen
How did you fix this issue?
I have a code 33 showing up on my 06 F150 and am having issues diagnosing. Any tips? My dash indicator lamp is ok, it lights up on start and sometimes stays on and sometimes not.
mrjmccaa any luck? I am having the same issue with my 08 F-150. The 33 code
I replaced the sensor and the pigtail 2008 f 150 5.4 but still have the light what else should i try?
Pull codes first, the one other item you want to check is the passenger deactivation light above the radio to make sure it proves out KOEO.
I have the same issue. I have not replaced the sensor. How tough is it to do?Can you clean it up to see if that fixes beeping? If so How do you clean it?
What about airbag code 25 on 98 ford expedition ? what can you do
is the sensor problem?
How can I bypass the entire airbag system?
You know what is 34 code . Thanks
I've actually help out a mechanic to fix up a steering line too
My 1999 f150 has a air bag light on the dash code 33???? Help.
Great video. I know this is an old one, but could you do a video about the passenger airbag light? That seems to be my problem on my '06. Thanks!
Jamie Svrcek same here !!! Any luck ? Mine just started popping on and off when driving
Thankyou
I'm getting code 18 which means the little lamp is out but my truck doesn't have that lamp
Shallow Exodus I have the same code. Did you figure it out?
My airbag light is on and stays on. My thinking is it might accidently deploy the bag
would this cause code 32 to be displayed
My 07 ford fusion airbag light on. It dnt flash just when i turn the car on the pass light comes on thn the the air bag light staus on the insterment panel
Most of the time on a fusion it is due to low battery voltage setting a B2290 code. I would make sure you battery is not low with the cold and replace. if needed.
