By this point he's warmed up a lot and values the relationships he has, especially his and Tifa's. He knows he hurt her and really wants to fix it.
I agree. People tend to think Cloudy is too edgy stemming from his Advent Children character. But this Cloud has a lot more fleshed out organic relationships with his teammates compared to the original. Which naturally, develops over the course of the game.
Tifa talking about another girl being so stunning that she could have been a model when Tifa looks the way that she does is ironic. The most beautiful people don’t even know how beautiful they truly are.
Watch their eyes. You’ll notice that Tifa is far more relaxed and focused, meanwhile Cloud’s eyes are going frantic back n forth ever so subtly, like he’s constantly scanning what to say next. It’s incredible work.
It doesn't need to be anything explicit. They should just make it classy and full of warmth, that's all anyone wants from it. The skywheel scene was exactly that and that's fans love it so much.
