All New Mercedes S Class - all Safety Systems (explained)

- This is a full review of all the safety features of the all new Mercedes S Class 2022 - 2023.
As you’d expect, the new Mercedes S-Class comes with virtually every safety feature that Mercedes-Benz currently offers. The list includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, active steering assist, lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, traffic sign recognition, front and rear cross-traffic alert, and active blind-spot monitoring. Brand-new for 2021 is hands-off recognition, which means you don’t need to move the steering wheel for the car to know you have control - simply put your hands on it. Also new for 2021 is the addition of standard Pre-Safe Impulse Control.
A carryover from SUVs like the GLE and GLS and a facet of the E-Active Body Control adaptive suspension (essentially active anti-roll bars that draw on the 48-volt system to eliminate body roll), Pre-Safe Impulse Control can detect an oncoming vehicle from either side and raise the S-Class slightly to lessen the brunt of a potential collision.
The S-Class also offers a special blind-spot warning for drivers exiting their vehicles, and is the first car to offer rear-seat airbags to protect second-row passengers from a head-on collision, as well as a special blind-spot warning for drivers exiting their vehicles. Also integrated into those active safety features are the new ambient lighting fixtures, which are able to reinforce warnings visually.
Another carryover to the new S-Class is the traditional PIN entry option on the driver’s side door. But joining it for 2021 are three new identification measures to make sure your S-Class is safer than ever: fingerprint (located inside, next to the hazard light button), face, and voice recognition. And all three of those options can reportedly also be used for in-car purchases.

My father was a paramedic for over 35 years and in all his time, he said he'd never seen anyone die in a Mercedes crash and swore by their safety systems. His dream car was an S class but he had a few different models in his time. Mercedes-benz makes very safe cars. 👌

The exterior and interior design is now growing on me and I'm now feeling it's elegance after watching several videos of this superior car of which initially I didn't appreciate. This car is really glorious.

A perfect demonstration of why the S-Class is always the benchmark in future technologies, especially safety systems. We will see many of these systems get copied by other manufacturers in the upcoming years
Wish every Mercedes, no matter the league would have such safety features. They could also be a brand known for the safety and not only elegance

That is exactly why they are cheaper, these safety features are not cheap. Hence only really in more premium models.

When a friend of mine did a small accident on high tech Mercedes in a Chechen village. Immediately, received a call from Mercedes Benz support center in Russian. Since this was a small accident, my friend answered he was safe and sound and thanked the lady. That's amazing !

Great progress compared to my S63 AMG I must say. Eagerly awaiting for the new AMG version and will probably upgrade to the new one. Mercedes is a class on its own just look at the numbers sold compared to peers. They almost own the market for this type of limousine. Good video praising the relevant features.

This video is about the NEW S Class from Mercedes-Benz and it’s not a overall brand/sales strength comparison especially not with one single brand like BMW. The S Class 11th (!) Generation stands out and this is acknowledged even by the most fierce competitors because of its dominant position in this segment. 7-Series to me looks aggressively posh but that’s my personal opinion.

@@DarkwearGT this is worth more rhe. The F1 car if think about it logically. The F1 car is 1 of 2 cars, hence why its about £50m over a year. This model is worth far far more as a template.
Last night I came home after a 5 hour drive and my dad wasn’t sleepy or anything and the roads had new lane markings but the olds ones were still there so my dads Toyota couldn’t tell and it beeped at him and it happened so much the car alerted him to stop the car and rest. It’s useful but I found it a little funny since he wasn’t even tired.

My suv doesn’t have all those tricks. It can read the lights and signs , but it won’t stop 🛑 at them. It will do everything else. I guess that’s because I didn’t get the top of the line, but I did get a GLC63 amg.

Well you are talking about a Mercedes not any ordinary Car that is the King of Cars even in the older version mine does almost all of that with the exception of the autonomous brake system.which was then available only in the Maybach most of those safety features are also in the LS 600 Lexus flagship car. So they all work well my brother, not some marketing gimmick.

I don't know whether it's a good sign to have such a smart car or not, I was thinking if I got hijacked with an armed guy, I can purposely crash my car to save myself if I have a ordinary car, but can I do that in this smart S-class?
