Merry Christmas Rookie, I feel for you brother, working late on Christmas Eve. I remember a very cold Christmas Eve a few years back where I was on call and actually never got out of the service truck, I spent all night on all types of “no heat” calls, and then helped the plumbing side with frozen and busted water lines, I felt bad because I didn’t get home till about 7:00am and my kids and wife were already up waiting on me! What a Christmas. But on the bright side, WHAT A PAYCHECK!!! Take care looking forward to seeing more videos.
Nice one dude, I dunno why but my number one worst call is a frozen evap. Especially when you go to tap the bottom of the drain pan and it’s like knocking on the hulks forehead, not the hollow sound you want to hear! Merry Xmas and a fabulous new year to you and your family.
On call too doing transportation refrigeration, had 2 calls on Xmas Eve and one call so far on Xmas day, absolutely hate being on call especially on a holiday
Icing on the coils is a Pain in the ass constantly on those Krack coils. Talked to factory about this issue and we moved termination sensor to middle bottom front of coil. No more ice so far.

Man that’s easy money right there! I used to LOVE running calls on the holidays! Gotta say tho, kinda almost sounds like that customer has an Electric Defrost Evap tied to a Gas Defrost Rack. In my travels, that’s always led to recurring issues.
Hey Rookie,Merry Christmas....love your channel. After defrost terminates and it cools the coil ,it`s called recool.It cools the coil down to 25 degrees before the fans come on .Two reasons for this,it freezes the water onto the coil so it doesnt suck it onto the fan blades and freeze making the blades out of balance, also ,if you turn the fans on too quick with a warm coil it can cause a thermal pressure to be generated because of the heat to the cold.It can pressurize a freezer box enough to cause damage to the walls and possibly blow the side walls or the roof of the box to blow off.Always cool the coil before turning the fans on. I work on -40 freezers for blood plasma.It cools the coil down to -25 before the fans turn on....I`m on call today as well.OZZY

Merry Christmas. Brought me back to my on call days years ago. Had a call out to a supermarket during Christmas Dinner. Store manager was there with his wife unloading ice cream and moving it i to the walkin in his suit and tie and his wife all dressed up as well. 😅
Get an adjustable SPDT Temp control, put it on the suction line insulated. Fans on NO(closed on temp drop) and drain pan heater on the NC contact. It should sense the rising suction like temp fairly fast in defrost. Unfortunately this is what you have to do when you don’t have extra conductors going to the evap.
@@rookierefrigeration4357 looked like it just had a klixon mounted on the coil. Having the same thing but adjustable and on the suction line will provide a lot more control and not take as long to cut the fans out once defrost starts
So basically... you had a freeze up.. Then.. removed all the ice off the evap and made sure the fan would spin ... Then just bounced on them 😂🤣 My dude 🙌

That is exactly what it has. Not ideal but I’m still gonna go check accuracy and settings.

It’s actually an adjustable Danfoss mounted on the back of the coil, sensing bulb on the suction.
Tell FMOC you about to get the day code and change the defrost for one hour to clear those coils..

If it was on a single condensing unit, yes. But this was on a rack. So it only pumped down. No issues

I would also put a minimum of 3 min fan delay after defrost so the fans dont come on right away.
Problem is that the power to the evap is NOT controlled by the rack. 🤷♂️
