I saw Kurt and Courtney at Disneyland outside of Pirates when I was a sophomore in high school so 1992? - it was nighttime and they were buying popcorn. He had bright pink hair and was maybe my height (I’m 5’4”). I remember my friends and I got his autograph and no one really knew Courtney at the time because she stood off to the side while we all had Kurt sign our Disneyland guide maps.

Courtney wasn’t that well known then, she was a little bit bc she was into the scene but it wasn’t till whenHole released 1994 Live Through This on the week of Kurt’s death when she got the notoriety she rly craved.

As a 40 year old, I can honestly say it’s very difficult to comprehend how huge Nirvana was and only on the national stage for roughly 4 years. Such a lasting impact and how weird is it that the genre died shortly after Kurt. Some say it was never meant to last anyway, but his passing definitely sped up the process. Great vlog Adam. Take care

Thanks for the video, Adam. Last fall, I took my Mom to Kurt's childhood home in Aberdeen and the memorial (with it just a couple hours from where I live), and it was really eye-opening for both of us to contextualize where his music's sound was inspired by. The neighborhood had cracks in the street and the sky was gray, but the house's new owners renovated the front porch, took out the shrubs and the Daily World mailbox, and repainted the house itself. They even placed a polite "do not disturb" sign posted out front near the front door. Using Columbo-like research skills, I was able to show my Mom where Kurt's room was, where he stood on the front porch with his sister in that one famous photo, and even where the shrubs were originally located. We met people from all over the country at the memorial and even chatted with a group all the way from Louisianna on a pilgrimage. It was so quiet there, you can hear a pin drop next to the Wishka River Bridge where "Something In The Way" was inspired by. It was a really surreal experience for sure.

The original location doesn't exist anymore and now is a McDonalds, Music 6000 (6000 Pacific Ave SE) has since relocated twice but still sports a signed by Kurt and framed receipt on the wall at it's current location. I remember at the original location, going into the front doors and down to the right a flight of stairs to the basement of the music store (originally was a church building) and tinkered with the keyboard synthesizers and audio gear. Very cool episode with a very Seattlesque atmosphere & weather. I’m a Pearl Jam and Soundgarden fan but also love Nirvana and Alice in Chains. I’ve never been to Seattle but I can feel why their music had that vibe. Thanks for your great work Adam.

I just wished Kurt coulda KICKED his Heroin addiction. Love only did it because Seattle Child Services and L.A. CPS were going to take Frances away from them. She GOT herself Sober so they could keep their Infant Daughter.

As somebody who is the same age as you, we know where we were when we heard Nirvana and how it changed us and our views of music. Nevermind was an album that changed the scene. Great vlog ATW as usual! Have a great rest of the week and hopefully you are traveling safe and having fun! We can't wait to see you again on the road someday if you are down......shall you?

From 11-14 years old Nirvana was the soundtrack of my life. Living through that era of 91-94 was incredible for music. We were so excited for each new grunge/ rock release.

My family has had a sporting goods shop since 1993. I was twelve when Kurt passed. I signed the wall in the skate sharpening room the say he passed. It's still there. Nirvana changed my life.

I go to his memorial bench often as I live here and I had no idea about those fences - that they
    were signed and everything!
I didn’t get over to them I guess. One time I saw people tenting back there so I stayed away. Also, piece of info -Starbucks big wig owner lives up the stairs and I thought I heard he was doing something with the Love property. Not sure what exactly. Just FYI.
I’ve been to all your spots Adam but I didn’t know about Nirvana doing there video Silverman in his house garage. No clue!
I watching these so much! Thank you! Your so lucky you saw him in concert!!

Being from Washington state in America is like being from Wales if you're British. 80% of the time its grey, raining, windy, cold, or any combination of autumn winter vibes. Personally i love driving in the rain and love being able to drive around really hilly places and enjoy not having to trek in the cold and wet (I learned to appreciate the little things in life much more in recent times and I'm really glad I did). Thanks for making this video so I could kind of feel like I've been there with you lol. Happy travels to all 🙏🏼
God bless you mate. Subscribed 👍🏼
