I have followed the Earnest Jones thoughts on and off for about 3 years. After having an off period , slicing hooking and topping, I have fully taken up mantra of Jones and Manuel de la Torre. Golf is a easy game which people make difficult. That’s not a true statement. However golfers make it harder than it has to be. Your clear concise video is truly helpful. The mind does control the body and by visualisation of what you want to achieve you will improve your chance of success. Keep up the good work Ed
Jim, Manuel often described the prevalence of golf instruction that makes golf unnecessarily complicated. Fuel injection and transversely mounted engines are highly complex but you don't need to understand them to drive your car. The golf swing is a highly complex phenomena but you don't need to understand those complexities to drive a golf ball. Golf instruction should seek the simplest way to enable a player to propel their ball to their target. Golf instruction should recognize that to get the brain to use the club effectively, the player should be given a visualization that informs the brain to appropriately activate the body.
One of the most pervasive driver issues is the idea that the setup and swing for the driver should be different than our other clubs. When manufacturers robotically test their clubs they use the same robot for drivers as for 8 irons. Clubface soled (not turned) club shaft perpendicular to target line, body centered on shaft, ball in front of clubface.

In regard to full shots, is the most effective mental intention visualizing the club pointing in the direction of the target toe up?
@@wallinlitwa Partial swings...visualize ball rolling to and stopping at the target Full swings...visualize the "Shaft" pointing down at the target on the ground with the toe of the club up These visualizations are created at address and sustained for the duration of the swing.
