This is one of my favorite nitros! I beat mine to death on my channel! You can literally run it hard,jump,race,etc. I run mine on a private track against losi 8ight nitros and it handles its own very well! The only issue I've ever had is the tires. You really need to get one hybrid!

hey man! I knew eventually somebody would come across this video and realize it was their own nitro. BTW I've made a couple more follow-up videos on this same exact one, you gotta see it run. I eventually returned this one to the person who let me fix it up, otherwise I would give it back to you ASAP. It's never great to take NITRO from the people, lol. Anyways ,the slayer pro is terrific compared to the cheaper slash, but you still gotta love the slash! Hope you check out my other videos, and never forget, you can't kill a nitro!

my dude! I hear you, this is a highly under rated brand new nitro which comes with awesome features for the money. Many people don't even know about it, it seems Traxxas really isn't trying to push this one, I rarely see any advertising for it. Meanwhile it a top notch RC with a 50 MPH top speed, a 3.3 engine and a long chassis.

I’ve had mine for the last 5 years and I’ve only had to replace the motor once and that was last year! They run strong and very fast! One problem is traction... don’t expect to bring this thing to the track and rip it up. It’s a 2wd with a hell of a motor so not much traction but it’s still a great car! It was my first nitro and it was super easy to learn how to tune and fix. Highly recommend to anyone that’s getting into nitro for the first time!!!

I put so proline holshots on mine and an OS 11k carb and that thing tears up the track! I was able to beat some 4wd nitro truggies.

One recommendation before you stared a nitro engine for prevent piston rod failure and sleeve fast wear off is get a heat gun and heat en engine in that way is going to turn more freely and going to last longer plus a good tuneup .

I have the slayer...great truck that i cobbed alot of parts off for my revo..at this point i might as well buy a new one as the cost to fix it would be close to just buying a new one
hey my dude! Yes, I highly recommend not sinking money into a parts truck, because it will usually end up being worse than a new one, anyway, and you will still have just one. Get a new one if price wise its similar, then at least you have another one you could use for parts if needed, major cost savings down the line. NItrgang baby!!.
wouldnt trade this traxxas for the nitro team associated 2wd short course truck rtr. they produced very few. nice video.
hey man! Yes, I would also pick this Traxxas over any other nitro SCT, only because it's super easy to work on, plenty of parts from the rustler fit, and it's faster. Super under rated RC in my opinion. Probably the best band for your buck when it comes to TRAXXAS currently..

Another thing to mention is traxxas have a power up program you pay 115 dlls plus tax change you old worn out motor for a brand new 3.3 . Just follow the directions and fill the form o take to authorize dealer (hobbytown o any hobby shop the sell traxxas products). The same for the old esc and motors . The other brands of rc don’t have this deals.

hey my dude! YUP bro, this is one of the most under rated and unknown nitros you can buy. Also the asking price is fairly reasonable for what you get here. You get a good 3.3 engine, a long chassis, a SCT body and you get 50 MPH top speed right out of the box! And yes almost nobody knows about this thing. We bringing the education lol.
What's a easy name brand nitro to use and work on
By the look of the bottom of the chassis with those stock shocks, i bet that motor is barely broken in. My motor was stuck at tdc out of the box, and nearly impossible to turn over until after the break in period.

can you swap the wheels and tires between the chassis'? seems like wider tires on the slash would equal more grip
hey buddy! Yes, many people put on wider duratrax tires onto this chassis, they do provide much better braking you're right. But even the stock tires are pretty good and long lasting on this 2WD chassis.

What shocks and upgrades do you have on your jato and would they fit the slash?? :)
hey my dude! I run almost all my RCs fully stock, including my JATO 3.3. If you watch my other jato vids you will see it's 100% stock. I recently did a brake flip mod and the brakes are significantly better now. Anyway, the Jato already comes with very good shocks, I've never had a problem. I would not try to upgrade the shocks on the JATO, trust me. The slash also has normal quality shocks in my opinion.

hey bro! YUP man, you got yourself a Nitro ADDICt, like me! People always ask me to purchase my stuff, But I mostly only sell electrics, no attachment issues to them, ahaha. The old slayers were built on a shorter chassis (silver chassis) so if you negotiate you could use that as a bargaining point, and say it's outdated. But lets face it, ALL NITROS R GREAT!!.
I got one as my first RC and man this thing is ridiculous. DO NOT CRASH! You'll be wrenching consistently lol. Keep it on a fairly flat surface. I've destroyed my blue header and stock exhaust. Going to see about a different mount setup.

hey my homie! I know right! My buddy has this same exact nitro slash and he hit a confirmed GPS top speed of 49 MPH with stock everything. There is no question this thing will do 50 with stock gearing our of the box. I will be testing this soon, don't worry! Nothing gets past the Nitrogang!.

hey my dude! There are tons of things that could be going wrong and possible just oversight. Usually it's because it's not being primed correctly and fuel isn't getting through the carb. You can try pouring like 10 drops of fuel directly through the carb, then try to start it. IF it fires up you will know it's because of a fuel issue. anyway, I have a couple "first start" and break-in videos on here, make sure to watch them, I go over some of the thing you need to do for a successful start. Let me know!

The engine is seized but just from sitting not from getting overheated and blowing up all it needs is the engine seized and a new cap for the fuel tank it also needs a pen replaced in the front differential the front right tire does not spin with the drivetrain correctly it is obviously a four-wheel drive it already has a roto start put on it this was a $600 car new in the early 2000s

hey buddy! What you need to do is search for part numbers online, usually eBay. I gotta tell you though, I stay away from brands like KYOSHO because it's always a problem with parts, and very few part resellers for that brand. You need the owners manual (find it online) and then locate the part number in the exploded views. Good luck!!.

hey buddy! All nitro motors need to be tuned over time. It mostly comes down to adjusting the needles based on idle and engine temp. All nitros come with normal factory "break-in" settings to begin with, then you will need to adjust the high/low speed needles as needed based on engine temps.

The slash hasn't changed in a decade, good or bad? I still think the electric 4x4 is the best starter rig on the market, durable, fast, cheap to fix. If you like a 90/10 work to drive rate, buy a nitro.

@@hybrid32494 thin aluminum block , bad idling issues, high temp issues, conrod, etc etc. exsaust manifold.... Use to have a revo and a slayer and y sold them,,not to mention the gearbox gears 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️traxxas must to design someting more reliable for those trucks....don't get me wrong but they must design a new engine, bigger,tough, get rid of the manifolds screw so it can move in a bad landing and not be damaged.. this is a constructive critic😄👍
