Bro I have been driving the Slash for a month. Thank you for the recommendation. It's so powerful that on full throttle I've exploded two sets of rear tires. People it's loud and it's awesome. I can say, without a doubt, it is the most sickening RC I've ever driven. Novarossi and VXL's included. No comparison.

it took a full speed assault on a dumpster with a offset frontal collision to break (only) a steering knuckle. and its still driveable. i got one of these as my first rc in a long time, and my first nitro ever. if youre on the fence, they are as much fun as they look like.

BTW the borough of NYC I live in is known to have had the largest garbage landfill in the world until it closed in 2001. So I guess this was the local gov't way of giving back! so to say.

But the alternative is the C-Clip style hinge pin holder right, and we all know those can surely piss you off even more.

Don't forget, the Schumacher nitro 21xtr does 50+ on a single speed too. I've never tested it on mine, but it's fast.

Anyway I'm working on putting my own Schumacher XTR-3E back and restored, then we will test that thing out. Nitrogang! I hope all 3 speed shift, that would be ideal, but you know how the Nitro Game works, lol. You just never know .

whats up bro! Last I heard about Jang's reason for getting out of the RC videos is he succumbed to the negative hater comments and just stoped. HE now does LEGO videos and is also highly popular, even more than with RC I'd say. What he should have done is put all the haters on BLAST like I do and respond to them in videos and call them out. LOL. But ye, that damage was purely my fault, I should have checked the hinge pin and made sure it wasn't backing out. This highly weakened the suspension and of course it broke.

Have a little problem ( Nitro fuel shortage 🤔) My friend has a couple of unopened quarts of 20 % racing Nitro. Normally I would be excited, but they have been sitting on the shelf for years . Due you think the fuel is turned ??? & think it will damage the motors ??? Appreciate your opinion 👌 Salute Nitro gang 💯👍
Do you think there will be a new hpi savage octane? If I can remember the video correctly it was a 4 to 5 year old video about the hpi savage octane v2 at a showing of there new cars and to the right of it was the green hpi savage flux XL that was just released not that long ago. The other thing I’ve noticed is that hpi savage octane parts are slowly coming back as well as the engine brand new. Hopefully they do bring it back would love to get myself one!

hey my dude! I highly recommend you get this nitro slash if you're starting out with nitro. The traxxas parts support is incredible, the thing is much faster than the LOSI Truggy and lots of people have these and will be able to help you out if you have problems. The scooter survived! Luckily the front of the slash has that huge absorbing bumper, so nothing broke at all. Even though that impact was pretty severe, it flipped a 35 pound scooter, you know. Thats the 2WD brakes you get, lol. Brakes a good, but still only a 2WD.

the hinge pin is a very typical traxxas fubar. easiest way to permanently fix it is to screw it in from the front.
only do the left side as its always the left that backs out.
the hinge pin backs out as the arm moves up and down.
That engine needs a tuned pipe. I didn't hear it hit the power band, but I did hear it hit the scooter 😆

@@DavidAnderson-gp1zu I highly recommend you pick up a FLYSKY GT3-B or the GT5 radio, trust me. You will never have issue again, and you can easily set the fail-safe. Anyway, if you're trying to use the stock radio gear, there is no way to change your end-points. You can try to move the linkages to compensate, but that is a purely mechanical fix, and often times it's not ideal.
@@hybrid32494 ya it's a customer's car I got in in pieces, and all 3 servos were garbage, could just not have reverse for it🤷♂️
@@DavidAnderson-gp1zu Yes, if removing the reverse is an option I would highly recommend it. Also tell the owner it would simplify the RC, make it more dependable, and reduce electric drain on the RX pack while making it lighter. All TRUE!..

hey brother! Hope you enjoyed this video, I tried to give the full realistic run experience including the crash and all. IT was an easy fix, so no big deal. Honestly it was my own fault, I should have checked the hinge pin screw, this is a common issue on every other 2WD traxxas btw, so it's purely my fault. EASY FIX though. all parts from the 2WD chassis are identical. BTW the 4WD model is the SLAYER PRO, which is based on the REVO chassis, also lots more money.

Those screws always back out on my electric rustler. But never seem to do it on my nitro rustler. Hmmm.
hey my dude! YUP, I know exactly what you mean, I've seen it happen many times. I guess this is the reality of not using E-CLips for hinge pins, but on the other hand the basic screw design is easy to work with. In the future I'll check and tell the owner to be aware of it. BTW, you could put some hot glue on the thread and thread it in there, it works very well.

Local R/C racers are making nitro late models out of them ala mud boss style. Put sprinters or hole shots on them
and a full cover L/M body and rip the oval tracks... The only real use they have for racing.
When I try to do top speed I keep flipping my slash. The 3.3 motor is too powerful lol

This one will run straight at top speed but only during smooth acceleration and if I hit any bumps during the run then the front will lift and you've got a parachute, you're right.. I highly recommend u put a few RC weights on the front, they sell them on amazon. amzn.to/3u9Q3SH

hey bro! They for sure do. It's still sold brand new, plus most of the chassis parts are identical to the rest of the entire 2WD vehicles anyway. SO parts are not a problem at all, you know.

hey bro! I like that idea!! I thought about a JATO 2-speed install into the slash, but that would be a major undertaking with highly custom work. What matters is the final drive ratio you know. I think this thing can pull taller gears and with enough space 60 is possible .

@@LawrenceTimme that'd right bro! IF this happened to a non NItrogang Member they would instantly bash the whole RC, instead of taking responsibility, you know. Plus I had a pretty heavy camera mount system on the car at the time of the crash, so I'm sure that also played a role.
It's not a slash, it's a slayer
I mean it says Slash!!
Slayer is a short arm nitro revo- 4wd. Nitro slash is an an extend wheelbase nitro rustler - 2wd. The only similarities are the bodies and SCT wheels and tires.
Stock Slash's are absolute garbage!!!!! The 3.3 is obviously good but all the shafts, arms, carriers and caster blocks all need replaced with rpm upgrades. The plastic Traxxas uses is cheap junk. Aside from the Maxx and xmaxx. Now those are damn near bullet proof
hey my dude! thanks for watching. I mean, it really depends how's rough of a basher you are, I've owned every single traxxas model there is (other than X-maxx and all the electric revos). And yes the RPM parts are significantly better, so there's no issues there. BTW the breakage in this video was 100% my fault, I overlooked an obvious issue. I would say based on good maintenance and upkeep they are good for what they are.

@@hybrid32494 nope I'm a team associated fan through and through. I'm not a Traxxas or arrma fan. I did buy my nephew arrmas entry level amd it's a pos. I do own 2 slashes and a 4x4 rustler. The slashes are trash compared to my associated sc trucks the 4x4 rustler is ok but not great

They are annoying having to tune them and when they idle and have to buy fuel etc. I have hoped up jetskis and they are a pain in my ass sometimes like nitro is for my friends. I like the plug amd play or electric better and now they can be faster then nitro as well. I have a rc10t I'm rebuilding right now and I had a jrx2 as a kid I raced. I.love all rc really just some better then others haha. Take care bro

My main thing is to appreciate each RC for it's intricate engineering and uniqueness, I hope you can pick that up from my videos. How old is that multi-use platform? Typical over priced stock Traxxas durability. I'm telling you Traxxas is 95% about looks, there out of the box quality is CRAP, they are too proud of their CRAP and their corporate bullying is CRAP!
well, that all may be, but Traxxas Is still selling nitros and not cutting entire product lines, for that alone the Nitrogang is happy!. The "durability" claims are Unfounded and mostly reinforced by people with unrealistic expectations of RTR rcs, trust me. Also I've never had an issue with any of them, out of the box.
@@hybrid32494 Some of what I have noticed about Traxxas RC's as a generality is that... Their Nitro models are more durable out of the box vs electric. Most of their electric versions are not built to handle the torque, HP and speed of the electric versions. Additionally, you are far more gentle on your RC's than most, nitro or electronic.
You are a nitro guru not a durability Guru! Teehee! 😜
Most of Traxxas' 2s-3s RC's were built for and originally designed for brushed motors. Their entire drivetrain is too weak for brushless thus one needs to invest twice. Once for the RC, then again for the upgraded parts that are necessary to play with the RC as it is advertised to handle. I agree, some people have unrealistic expectations, that said, to drive most Traxxas RC's as they advertise they can be driven, takes multiple upgrades straight out of the box. It is mostly drivetrain weaknesses in their 1/10 scale line. Nitro just isn't as hard on those parts as brushless.
All that, along with their being a corporate bully is what I most dislike about Traxxas. I'm not so much bashing Traxxas Nitro as much as I am new Traxxas RC's and Traxxas as a whole.
The 1/8 scale Revo for example is good in its nitro form but, it's more about looks than performance. It has design flaws that can't be fully fixed with upgrades. It is one of the most expensive among its competitors new yet, is by far the LEAST durable out of the box. As an informed shopper, I'd never purchase a new E-Revo. That said, on looks alone, it is #1.
I'll agree with you regarding Traxxas nitro if you'll agree with me about Traxxas as a whole.
@@hybrid32494 Let me ask you this... If you bought a new Nitro Short Course RC, would you buy another one like that Banggood RC you recently got with the chrome rims or a Traxxas Nitro Slash? What's a better value?
@@TK_Mo I am a nitro guru and not a durability guru!! I will agree to that, ahah! My goal is to make sure the RCs run long enough for me to make a usable video, you know. I can't be jumping them and breaking them instantly, then I would get nowhere. Plus you can jump anything, in fact I can throw a sandwich out a car Windows while driving 55 MPH into a wall that is not even a wall, lets see what happens!.
@@TK_Mo Very good question!! Considering I hate center diff setups all together this is why I prefer the solid 4WD systems of the Traxxas models (for the most part). The Traxxas SLayer pro 3.3 compared to the banggood 1/8 SCT are totally diff. The bangood one is mostly just a buggy chassis, nothing unique there. The main benefit of traxxas is PARTS, you never have to worry. Plus any basic RPM upgrades which cost about the same as stock parts and it's nearly bulletproof. IN terms of power, I'm highly satisfied even with a 1990's .5 hp OS engine. As you've seen me run my basic OS 12 CV many times, and those have about .5 HP, and yet when properly tuned it's still terrific.
