One of the best Mac App channels out there. I love that you don't waffle on for 2 minutes beforehand but just get straight into it and deliver important information. Also love that you consistently show the prices of the apps. Keep it up!
Thank you for the positive feedback - means the most!
@Devan, I love that we find each other over the internet somehow at different places. Absolutely loved this channel and the quick and crisp way in which he gives value right away. Also the apps are genuine useful and not just filling content.
I feel very strongly that you are on your way to much international continued success. Great content . And for your marketing needs I’m sixty eight years old , St. Louis Missouri. Advanced university degrees and professor . Still working. Keep kicking arse.❤
Won't even lie, this was my favorite best app vid in awhile. Getting me to swap from Alfred is huge in itself but zero regrets.
Now that's a great thing to hear - I'm glad you found the video helpful. Thanks!
A lot of useful information and apps in this video. What I love the most is the creativity and effort you put into your videos. I had to blink twice to make sure this isn't a 4 million subscribers channel because of the thought and time put. I love what you did there with the quicktime player to have it play your camera footage. Brilliant! Keep it up
Wow, that's great to hear! Thank you so much for your kind words and positive feedback.
When you get big, remember me, your OG subscriber. Superb video
If that happens, I sure will! Thank you so much for your support!!

f ! hes good !🙈
I’ve gone through like 6 of your videos in a row. Clever and insightful. I hardly ever comment and subscribe but yo you get everything 👍🏼
Hello, Vince
I appreciate your presentation style, and the video editing is also excellent, specifically the transitions.
Thank you very much - that‘s a great motivation for me to keep producing videos like this one! Glad you enjoyed it.
The best thing about raycast is their extension store, which can replace many of the other apps on this list. The emoji and color picker are two examples.
True, thanks for mentioning it!
Great video. You've highlighted apps that are really useful. Thanks!
MacGPT is no longer free, minimum 10 euro donation.
You are so helpful with these tips. I have to replay a lot, but catching up. New to Mac and there’s a lot to learn. Thank you for sharing!😊
Again, thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 Enjoy your new Mac - I'm sure it'll feel like home in no time!
I’ve seen quite a lot of videos about useful Mac apps but this one is very well-thought-out. So glad this channel appeared on my feed!
Thank you for your kind words, made my day! :)
So useful! Thank you so much!!! 🙏
Amazingly presented and thought out video! Would love to see a how I made it style video showing the animations and the tools you use.
A lot to learn from you! Keep it up!!
Thank you so much for the positive feedback, that‘s really motivating! I‘ll definitely consider making a how to video one day, right now I‘m still learning and trying to improve the editing of these screen recording videos :)
Hey, thanks for this video, itj definitely expanding my horizons when it comes to using my mac :)
Great video! Thanks for putting so much effort on this. Super detailed, concise, and helpful video.
Thank you! Glad you found it helpful! :)
Hello Vince, is System Color Picker better than the preinstalled Digital Color Meter? What makes the SCP App better?
Also I wanted to say thank you so much for your videos. I just bought a new MacBook Pro Max M3 and I was a former Windows User. So I was firstly completely lost haha.
Image optimization I do on daily basis.. Love the app recommendation
ngl this is a pretty good video, there are probably hundreds of “cool mac apps” vids but they mostly repeat the same names over and over again, this has been the first in a long while that has actually shown fresh apps i didn’t know about
Another good episode with some surprising gems. Thanks! ... I see Alfred and Raycast recommended consistently by several TH-cam creators. I've tried both and have never been impressed. So many highlights from these utilities are available and work fine in Spotlight. Can you consider a presentation on scenarios where Raycast or Alfred are clearly superior over Spotlight? I suspect I would appreciate your thoughts and unique presentation style on this topic. Thanks, again!
You can literally do anything in Alfred. For example empty the trash instantly, start a FaceTime call much faster, scrape a website und show the result right in the Alfred search bar, translate text right in the search bar, change audio input output devices mich faster, share urls much faster, control windows. Literally everything you can imagine off, the only thing is if you don’t find a workflow in the internet you have to program/build it yourself.
Thanks again, Mike! That‘s great to hear! sure, good idea, I’ll definitely consider making a video about that. Maybe even some TH-cam shorts.
Raycast has a lot of extensions like clipboard history
Thank you so much, man! It really helped a lot. I didn't know about most of those tips before watching your video.
Glad to hear it! Thanks for letting me know :)
Damn, small channel with such a good content! I’m subscribing, thank you for the tips!
Great video! Honestly surprised that you only had a few subs. Keep it up!
always a joy to watch the editing
Thank you so much!!! I love how many of the apps you recommended is free of charge - i would never have found them otherwise!
Monitor control, raycast, rocket and self control are my favourites on this list, i will definitely install them on my new mac (my current one is broken.)
i have a question though, do you know any apps that lets me customise keybinds on an external keyboard?
incredible editing by the way!! thank you for taking the time to help us and have a good day 😁
Thank you!! That's great to hear!! If you're looking specifically for more free apps, I've made a video with only free Mac apps - so feel free to check it out 😊 Glad to hear your kind words! And I'm sorry, I've never tried an app for that. You can remap some keys of your keyboard in the System Settings: > Keyboard > Shortcuts. Choose an item from the left pane, and then select the current key shortcut. Type the new command you want to use. However, you can't completely remap the keyboard. I've only heard of the app KeyboardMaestro, however, I don't know if that's what you're looking for. Sorry I couldn't be of more help and you too have a good day!! 😊
No idea how I haven't seen your stuff earlier!
I already use most of these apps and know all of them but I still found your video incredibly engaging.
Keep it going mate :)
Wow, what a great thing to hear! Thank you so much for letting me know - made my day!
Hello, The algorithm just proposed your video in my feed, I just finished watching and I enjoyed the quality and the edit, transitions are smooth, the sounds is clear and everything is well explained,
Appreciate your work and I just subscribed, I hope your channel gets the attention it deserves soon!
Thanks for watching and subscribing, Joseph! What a kind comment - hope to hear from you again soon. Welcome to the channel!
just surfing around recommend and found your video. I have to say that your video is better than most of macos's video I found in the internet cuz I use 6 of apps you're recommending and I fall in love with 2 others (Popclip + Sleeves) thank you for the video!
Really great to hear that you found the recommendations useful and they were in line with your needs! Thanks for watching!!
New follower, just the content I signed up for, well put, love your vlog style, different and fresh.
Looking forward to more great content
Thanks for your kind words! That's great to hear.
Thank you fir this video ! All your content is interesting because it goes directly to the point and it's very clear ! By the way, Mac GPT & Bing crash a lot in my Ventura (MacBook from 2015 with intel processor so no M) ^^
I like the way you create your videos. Very concise and straight to the subject! Congrats!
Thanks for the great feedback, that‘s good to hear!
Interesting video as always - thanks again!
so, you touched one of the issues I have with mac, but didn't answer what I was looking for. I always get logged out of websites after closing and opening the MacBook. How can i stay logged in like I do on my android or Windows devices?
Geez thank you so much for this video, I work as an illustrator and I'm new to Mac, System Color picker is an absolute game changer for me, thank you!
Thanks for letting me know, it's great to hear about a real-life example where one of my recommended apps turned out to be useful! Have fun with it!
Amazing video, I’d love to see a video on how you edit your videos, love the style!
Thanks for the idea! I'll try to make one in the near future. And thank you for your kind words!
the editing is so cool
Thanks a lot! Monitor Control - great app!
Thank you for the informative video through your own unique creative lens.
Appreciate your kind words, thanks!
Nice video as always! Question: how do I add the Color Picker icon to my menu bar?
Hey, thank you for stopping by again! In the Settings of the Color Picker app, in the General section, you should see the option "Show in menu bar instead of Dock". Here, I'd also recommend enabling "Launch at login", so the app is always open automatically. Let me know if it has worked for you! :)
I have watched many videos for mac apps but yours are always the best, Keep up the good work! Nice editing too!
Thank you! That‘s so great to hear :)
Subscribed bro👌after using Mac for 8 years, i feel like a beginner. But your videos are very helpful to get back on track.
Thanks man! Happy to help! Btw love your profile pic and username - big big bang theory fan here!
It shows that you dedicate time to the edition of each little detail of the video. Keep it up!! 🎉
Thank you so much! That‘s really great to hear! Glad you enjoyed another one of my videos 😊
You say that’s ImageOtim (7:35) removes metadata (EXIF) metadata) from the file. Looking at the website the option appears to be remove all metadata or none. That’s too blunt a tool. What I need is an App that will remove (or edit) selected metadata leaving the remainder intact. For example, keep keywords & GPS location but delete image comments & contact details. Do you have any suggestions here?
awesome stuff man thanks for sharing
thanks bro!
top 5 underrated channels. amazing video bro! the best one I've seen about the subject. keep up with the good work👍
Thank you so much, what a great thing to hear! 😊
EXCELLENT video! My new mac is arriving today and I am definitely checking some of these out to configure it better. It’s a mini with an LG monitor and I’m thrilled to learn there is an app that can help control volume and brightness - something I was afraid I’d have to just deal with. As a designer I can’t believe I hadn’t known about that color picker, either. Definitely giving that a try as well!
Great!!! Big thanks - and enjoy your new Mac Mini with its new apps! 😊
Nice! I did research for color picker apps and NOBODY mentioned System Color Picker. It's free, it uses the built-in UI, and it shows a history. 🔥
GREAT! I use System Color Picker all the time and love it! Thanks for writing that comment 😊
thanks❤amazing. love the editing as alwaysssss❤
And thank you so much again!! 😊
Love your channel... How do you validate that these third party apps are safe to use?
Hi, I am very new to Apple ecosystem, purchased an old Macbook pro 2017. I wanted to know which software you use to create such videos with effects, transition, editing.
I see that you are using Quick Time player for recording. Now to figure out which one for editing?
Hi great. Wich one is the one that organize your desktop or any folder into "images, pdf, files, etc"? Thxs
I think you could try stacks on the desktop and also just set the sort to file type in finder. Hope that helps
absolute legend. thanks a lot. never seen such a good tech tip vid
Wow, what an incredible compliment! Thank you!!!
Can someone help me out with color picker app? I dont know how to transfer the app to my menu bar at the top of my screen...
Great apps and great presentation style, I truly think your channel is unique! You earned a new follower, keep it up!
Thank you!! That's great to hear!
Thanks a lot this is very helpful
can you please tell how you use the +gpt command? And how to make it work? Do I have to add my API key for this?
Hey! The app uses your API key from OpenAl (ChatGPT). In the first few months after signing up for ChatGPT it's free, and after that you have to add a payment method in the API kevs section (!) of vour OpenAl account - but it's very cheap, 1000 executions of 100 words each will cost you roughly $0.30. I'd recommend setting a limit (which you can also do in the Settings) which ensures that you don't pay more than you want to each month (I've got it set to $2, which is way more than enough and I use it a lot).
Regarding the +gpt Command, you can enable the Inline feature in the MacGPT settings!
Hope this helps!
Yeah, thank you so much! And I went through all the MacGPT settings, didn't find anything related to this command...@@macvince
Great Video. BUT I cannot get the +GPT thing to work. Any suggestions? I want to use it to write emails and stories in docs etc. Any ideas?
Thank you! Did you enable MacGPT in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility? And did you add your API key from Open AI in the app? If you don't know how, feel free to answer me on this comment, I would be happy to help! Thanks again and hope we can get it working!
Are Macgpt features free ?
MacGPT ist denke ich mein absoluter Favorit! Klingt echt insane
Greta video! This guy in two video already forced me to subscribe!
Love that you showed Raycast, would have preferred if you highlighted its extensions
Thanks for the video! Nice tips for apps 🙂
Thanks for watching the video! Glad I could help :)
Mac apps are so amazing and beautifully designed.
Agree!
Very good presentation method! Simple, elegant and useful. Grow more!🎉
Thanks for the kind words! 😊
Incredible video💯 Great editing and writing🔥
Much appreciated, thanks!
Thank you, nice list of some of my golden oldies (PopClip) and some new to try ones. Do you know Powerphotos?
Glad you enjoyed the video! Don‘t know Powerphotos yet, I‘ll have a look. Thanks for the recommendation!
Bro, Weltklasse Video und tolle Tipps. Mach bitte weiter 😊
Danke dir!
Thank you for not talking about Alfred. I'm just about tired of every Mac App video spending the entire watch time talking about that app. I just want to know about other apps!
That being said, amazing video. Love your channel. Subscribed!
Thank you so much for the great feedback! 😊
Muchas gracias!!!
MacVince, I love that effect where you make the whole screen move to an angle and then have a cool bokeh effect. How do you do that? 🙂
Thank you!! I appreciate it! I use Final Cut Pro to edit the videos and apply the effect.
do you know if Sleeve will alter or corrupt my Apple Music Playlists?
Great video, thanks for making us aware of all these brilliant open source apps.
My pleasure! Thanks for your great feedback!
Hello! I just have discovered your channel and… how is it possible that you JUST have 21k followers??? Seriously, you're 10x better than any other youtuber in your field!!! And i'm not joking! I'm french and I love the way you express! I'm really glad I discovered your channel! Thank you for your great job!
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 This is really motivating to hear! I hope you'll enjoy the upcoming videos too; would love to hear from you again!
I'm experiencing an issue with the system color picker. The app is not appearing on my menu bar, and there are no preferences available to configure the app.
Additionally, is MacGPT currently a paid service?
Do you have a menu bar tool that hides menu bar apps? And what happens if you open the app via Spotlight Search? Can you hit Command and Comma afterwards to open the Color Picker settings?
Unfortunately, MacGPT isn't free any more... Sorry!
Btw, there’s an inbuilt Mac App for the ‘pick any colour’ app
Genau das was ich gebraucht habe! Great content! I liked and subscribed
Freut mich! Danke dir and thank you! :D
⚠ IMPORTANT: With the new macOS Sonoma update, there's a native Mac battery widget coming to the Mac (in early September) - so there's not really a need for the Batteries app (03:58) anymore! Thought I'd let you know so you don't end up buying the app and discovering this afterward. I apologize for any inconvenience!
Thanks for watching - hope you enjoyed the video! Here’s part 1: th-cam.com/video/OShSBif4I3Y/w-d-xo.html
Oh, and here‘s the full poem written by ChatGPT, pretty crazy… 🍎
In the world of tech, a giant stands tall
A company whose name is known to all
From the sleek designs of their devices
To the software that powers our daily lives
Apple, the name that we all know
Their products, a symbol of status quo
From the iPhone to the MacBook Air
Their technology is beyond compare
Their stores, a place of modern art
A haven for those with a tech-savvy heart
Their customer service, a class apart
A reason why they've won so many hearts
From humble beginnings, they've come so far
Their innovation, a guiding star
A company that's always on the move
Their impact on the world, impossible to remove
Apple, a name that's here to stay
Their impact on the world, impossible to sway
A company whose legacy will forever last
Their influence, a thing of the past, present, and future, unsurpassed.
😂
love your video.
I want to know one thing how did you change maximise button color? Isn't that supposed to be green?
Thanks for watching! That‘s actually not on purpose, I applied a green screen key effect to the video, which also keyed out the green maximize button. On my MacBook it‘s also green! Hope this helped.
Instantly downloaded monitor control thank you, subed
Great that it's useful to you, thanks for the sub!
does anyone know how to keep your mac desktop clean of files and documents, came from windows and we could just hide all files on the desktop
Your video quality 👏🏽👏🏽
thank u! for real
Hey Vince do you know of any apps that allow you to add fast forward and backward to pip videos? Its really annoying having to go to the website to do it
Sorry, not at the moment… But I‘ll look into it for another app recommendation video.
You can usually just use your arrow keys forward and backward. Works fine for TH-cam for me
hi, your video is incredible, may I know what I need to learn or which software you used to create it?
Hi, thank you! I edit my videos using Final Cut Pro. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out! You can also find me on Instagram (@themacvince).
Dropped by thinking you're a seasoned TH-camr. How come you only have 3.78K subs? Anyway subscribed, and wishing you the very best :)
Wow, that‘s really great to hear! Glad you enjoyed the video and welcome to the channel - hope to hear from you again soon!
Solid list, thanks for the video!
Thank you for watching!
The editing on this video is excellent, great job
Much appreciated!
Something different and very useful. Deserves my comment and attention for sure.
Great production quality
Hey Vince! I've been scratching my head trying to figure out how you've made these transitions that make the screen capture pop out like @ 6:20. I would kill for a tutorial on this or any sort of guidance!! Thanks, wishing you the best!
@@macvince Yes!! This is the one thank you so much my friend!
@@adhigopal6301 my pleasure!
@@macvinceHi Macvince, I would be happy to get any guidance on how those transitions are done. Especially the 3d ones that make simple screens float around in space. Do you mind enlightening me? All the best for your channel!
I didn’t know ChatGPT has independent app on its own. I thought it was only online (and it's always overloaded with users 😢).
Is there a chance it has its app on iOS and iPadOS too?
Hey, thanks for watching! The app MacGPT is not directly from ChatGPT; it‘s from another developer. However, this developer has also made an app for iPhone called GeePeeTee, which is also very simply designed but powerful.
This is a great video and great list of useful apps! Thanks buddy!
Thanks, Robb - that's great to hear! Much appreciated.
Love the selection of apps
Good to hear! Thank you!
Downloading every app, they're all so useful. The emoji one will save me and the new alfred for sure
That‘s great to hear!
I love raycast (not biased - even though they sent me free swag), but I do wish their file search was so much better
Hi can someone help me figure out why macgpt inline feature is not working? Even when i already granted accessability and my mac version is above 13
How to enable a PDF back to .pages? Kindly help
Great Apps but I was even more exited about the editing style :o
Thank you so much! :)
Maccy app is amazing for clipboard!
Awesome video, gained a sub. Will definitely be downloading a few of these. Thanks!
Awesome, thank you!
Excellent video 🎉
