Apps that Raycast can replace: - Alfred - Rectangle - Maccy - Calculator - Keeping You Awake - Espanso I was also kinda stubborn to use Raycast. But it just makes sense. It can basically replace many other apps you're using and more. Control spotify, run brew commands, run shell commands, set up a timer, the list goes on. I only use the free features since most of the paid ones are AI related, and those things I manage myself with apis. But even the pricing model makes sense. You pay them for more features. They provide said features, and the developers of app-replacing extensions get a cut. It's kind of like that Setapp approach of being an app aggregator, but it's not even apps, just extensions.
Raycast being free is a cheat code imo. Ever since I've started using it it's just been so consistently efficient I think I couldn't use my MacBook without it. The fact you can set up shortcuts for the extensions commands is also so convenient because those shortcuts are triggered no matter what you're doing
I love these types of videos so much. Your editing is phenomenal too. Have you thought about making a similar video, but for Chrome extensions? I think that would be a great idea.

@@samuelfresneda7771 if you mean the official Obsidian Sync vs iCloud Drive, then the main difference are basically: 1. the way the files sync (by using iCloud, you’re limited to the way iCloud Drive syncs - only on WiFi and also open yourself up to a potential of file overrides - by modifying the same file on your Mac and iPhone at the same without an internet connection) 2. the speed of synchronisation could be slower (but that hasn’t been an issue for me personally) 3. you have more granular control of what actually syncs by using the Obsidian sync ;) (There’s an added bonus - you’ll support the devs) Hope this helps!
Been on Mac for a little over a year, and it's kind of crazy how many great "power user" apps there are for Mac OS. I miss a lot of them when I work on a Windows machine. I'm surprised about the lack of apps like this, and customizability available on Windows considering the much bigger user base.

It’s resource-hungry, and the scrolling being locked to 60Hz while in Safari you can take full advantage of those 120Hz in ProMotion screens is just the last nail in the coffin. D Tier for sure.

Less functions, but one killer feature. what is happening on the screen stops immediately after a shortcut is pressed. 4 Numi: Soulver 3. Same thing, but more powerful. 5 Yoink: more convenient alternative (imho)

Keyboard Maestro deservers a honorable mention For me it is a must-have app, I use it everyday and almost everytime to control macros and it includes a Clipboard history as well and I know it has more features
6:08 actually you can , i think its a bug or something but thank God they didn’t fix it, all u have to do is create the vault from the iphone and save in icloud ( haven’t tried w/other clouds ) and that’s it , u can open it in any other apple device and sync everything

I'm not sure that the Pages-Word comparison comes out fair here. Sure, MS Word is more powerful, but a lot of that power is used in niche implementations that most people won't ever use. How often do you need to do a mail merge, for instance? When I compare core experience, Pages comes out a LOT better than MS Word does. The issue, of course, is that Word is the industry standard, so working with Pages almost always involves a conversion if you're collaborating. But it's pretty stellar at that.

Are you aware that screen recording is an OS feature in sonoma ?... command + shift + 5 enables you to record the entire screen or a portion. No need for an app to do any screenshotting or screen recording (so quicktime is irrelevant too...)

Yes, VLC is a great player and can play a lot of different formats, but VLC can't go frame by frame backwards, which is just not understandable... I think there is a thread on the forum of VLC where people are asking for this feature for years now and one dev constantly complains that this is technically not possible etc.... where IINA and other players already have this functionality for years.

Hey, maybe not the best way to ask about this. But you mention something in the video and I've been in forums for a week and don't get it. I am new to macOS and I wanted my MacBook to have a higher resolution. But the 'More space' one is still kinda .. meh. So I chose something that's in between that an Native. And the text looks awful. Then I tried some resolution software, like the one you mentioned, and discovered that the only 'HiDPI' resolutions are the ones in the default menu in Settings. Is there any way that they can be forced to be 'HiDPI'? Btw, I am talking about the built-in display, not an external one. It drives me crazy.

But you can sync Obsidian between your Apple devices using iCloud Drive 👀 It’s not as good as the official sync option, it’s a solid 8/10
