Knitting socks is my comfort knitting. I was at the Cancer Center in Houston, Texas for 7 months last year and knitted socks the whole time I was there. I enjoyed going to their local yarn shops in the Houston area and I’m so blessed to have had such an amazing hobby to help keep me company as well as the many podcasters out there. Any knit is actually my comfort knit. Knitting has preserved my sanity and saved my life after the sudden death of my husband 4 years ago. Knitting and my dogs helped me survive.

I learned to knit after I opened my yarn shop. My customers taught me. Once I learned to knit socks, I haven't stopped. Socks are my comfort knitting for sure.

Comfort knitting is afternoon knitting after the morning chores, visiting my Mother, babysitting. Whatever happens. Some thinking knitting, some stockinette. All knitting is comforting. Except mistake knitting. That is learning…ha. Thanks for the music..

My comfort knit is also socks. But knitting in general is my happy and comfortable place. Being retired a can spend a good portion of each day just knitting. Also being retired, it’s so wonderful to have what I call my full time employment, making socks for my family as well as garments. I am blessed for sure.

My comfort knit is keeping a shawl on my needles. I love to imagine how the recipient will feel comforted in the shawl while I knit it:)

I love knitting hats as gifts, after 40 years of knitting I just started knitting socks and I am so addicted, so that is my new comfort knit, cheers from Canada.

For me knitting socks is a comfort knit. I mostly knit vanilla socks which is super calming to me.

A plain vanilla sock or a crochet granny stripe blanket are my go-to comfort projects. I don’t have to think but I can still create.
Now I want to buy some more Holst yarn in ALL the colors!

I’ve knitted up most of the Van Gogh collection and I love them all. I think it’s one of the best Opal collections. Now I think I also need a Zigzagzen blanket. So squishy looking! So comforting. 💕

I love knitting with color changing yarns. The project could be anything. I so enjoy watching the colors change and evolve, blending or contrasting making every project unique. My current favorite is working with Junction Fiber Mill Making Tracks Lite. I'm knitting the Feldmark shawl. The multi-directional pattern is perfect for color changing yarns. I plan on casting on another as soon as I finish!

My comfort is make... Crochet, knitting or cross stitch longer projects with some design elements to make the rows more fun and some so... Blankets, shawls and more recently been doing back to back sweaters and blankets 😁

Any knit is my comfort knit. I knit how I feel - means when I'm stessed I knit easy Stockinette stitch. When I'm calm I knit more difficult patterns 🙂🥰

My comfort knit is socks. Learning to knit them took some time and a number of years to get it, but now I love knitting them. I like easy patterns but sometimes venture into more adventurous patterns like those in the Sock Madness competition. Thank you for your lovely podcast. There are always several pairs of socks on my needles, so socks are my comfort knit for sure. ❤ But recently I started to knit my first blanket (my first two blankets to be honest 😅), and I really enjoy knitting on them, too. The long rows are quite relaxing.

Selma at Little Big Knits just recommended your podcast, so I hopped right over to check it out. I'm so glad I did, as I enjoyed it very much. Your projects are lovely, and I now have inspiration to get on with a pair of socks that are resting. Holst Coast is one of my favorite yarns and I am just finishing up a cool summer tee in the color saffron--so lovely. My comfort knit is in general a comfortable wearable garment, mainly tees and light-weight sweaters. A little bit of lace perhaps, but mainly stockinette in the round. So soothing.

Thank you for another lovely podcast and for taking us along to the Holst Garn shop! I love to watch Selma too, she picked a beautiful song for you to perform. My comfort knit absolutely is knitting colourwork sweaters, f.e. Fair Isle. I know this is pretty stressful to some, but for me it is the most enjoyable knit, to relax after a day of work. Besides sweaters, I always have a pair of socks on the needle and I prefer to knit them 2aat since I want them to be identical.

I would say that my favorite comfort knit is The Radiant Dragon by Winterberry Knits (me). I purchased some yarn on our trip to California. The project I brought along required too much concentration for the busyness of our visit. So I decided to cast on my Radiant Dragon because I knew that it would keep me calm. I’ve made so many shawls in this design, just because.
It’s so wonderful to have a design you can always go back to🤩
We have matching kitties - right down to the love of woolly knits ❤ Thank you for the lovely piano session. I can't remember who recommended your podcast to me, but I didn't know I'd be treated to music as well as gorgeous knitting. Thank you! I'm looking forward to summer sock camp, too. OMG! That adorable kitty bag! Vanilla socks or anything that doesn't require checking a pattern is my comfort knit. Thank you for taking us to Holst. It's very hard to come by in the US, but I have long wanted to knit with it. One day.... :-)
