I'm not a trained engineer but I have first hand experience with designing things and decent knowledge of offloading. However for the life of me I can't figure out any actual performance reason for that suspension design. I think it's more as a bold statement piece with some function worked into it. Without having any formal training I tend to divert to existing cases in whatever the industry it is. In this case I think to all of the top performance trophy trucks with countless hours of top dollar suspension development. I've never seen a single one use anything remotely like this. So that's why I think it's a statement piece.
Nah. The jeep grand Cherokee has them like that. Doesn't really improve suspension performance at all it is more for upper ball joint longevity and maybe a bit less bump steer
