I'm a minus 3 prescription (nearsighted) in both eyes, might I have problems with FPV goggles in general and these specifically? The price point is getting me closer to making the leap from camera drones to FPV. Thank you for doing what you do! Very much enjoy the channel!
Yes, -3 does not work in FPV Goggles unless you can adjust each eyepiece, and even then they may only go to -2. Most goggles, you can by inserts to match your eyes.
Do not need to connect to TX for Head tracking. Works from the googles to the Walksnail Moonlight VTX and CADDXFPV GM1/GM2/GM3. the gimbal connects directly to the VTX. But you can still use the PPM system with a gimbal connected to your RX/controller, if so desired. The detachable lens design supports various vision needs, allowing for the installation of nearsighted, farsighted, or blue light-blocking lenses to meet individual preferences.
Interesting, I have not yet seen the head tracking connected to the VTX (only ones I have seen is people with cable from goggles to trainer port on radio). Good info! 👍
One of the things Steve did was lean against the Jeep. When I wear goggles, they tend to throw off my balance. For those doing ground FPV, this system also has head tracking and a gyro. In a perfect world, we'd be able to do this same stuff with a display instead of goggles. If there's a way to do what I'm suggesting, I'd appreciate info. OBTW, for ground stuff, they also make a 3-axis gimbal for the camera.
I have very similar HD fatshark recon . The bind process took longer . And it needed sd card upgrades of firmware . The headtracking would be a good video to watch .
If you go digital, you can't go back. I'm heavily invested in DJI at the moment, but I like the looks of these goggles. I wear pretty powerful glasses but have used box goggles before with little problems. DJI's upcoming Goggles N are going to be a much more affordable entry into DJI than in the past though.
The new DJI Goggles N3 will be more expensive then the WALKSNAIL Goggles L, and it will be more expensive to stay in the DJI eco-system, However, the new DJI Goggles N3 will be large so that one can wear their eyeglasses in them, which is bonus.
Hey Captain Drone: can you tell me if there's a FPV headset that will 'play' video from a DJI Action 5 or GoPro Hero 13 in real time? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!
IDK if it's just my eyes, I need glasses for stuff close to me, but with my VR headset it makes no difference if I have glasses on or not I can see just fine, but with the cheap analog FPV box goggles I have, not so much. But here's the thing, with VR at least I can wear my glasses, so god knows why they don't make FPV googles you can wear glasses with? I'm sure there's a way you can fly FPV with VR goggles, like if your computer could receive the feed from the FPV camera and you sent it to the VR goggles, it's probably doable, just means you'd have to take your gaming PC to the field, lol.
@@GearZenChannel right, good to know thank. I'm looking at cheap as I just want to have a try of FPV on some of my helis, I'm not really interested in FPV drones, more the cameras and goggles. Don't know I might splurge at Christmas.
This is a very timely video! I'm in the precipice of moving over to digital, and Walksnail has been catching my eye! Do I understand correctly that I cannot add an analog module to these goggles? That would be the bees knees lol
Well done Captain ! (and Jedi Steve!!) couple of questions; will this pair with the DJI Nemo? also, why did Jedi Steve need the Goggles? ; he would normally just close his eyes and "use the force" !!!! (sorry, couldn't help that !!!)
Jedi Steve lacks "The Force" capabilities, but he does have Great Sleep in until late in the morning powers, and drink plenty of coffee. And, No it won't pair with the NEO because the NEO is DJI TRANSMISSION and these goggles are WALKSNAIL TRANSMISSION. DJI only plays with DJI and WALKSNAIL only plays with WALKSNAIL.

Hey cap, I want to buy the Walksnail Goggles L, but I have one question: Is it possible to connect them to Liftoff or any other simulators? If it is possible, how can I do it? Thnak you in advance!
The answer is Nope. The only way any consumer FPV goggle can connect to a computer is if you run the video signal out of the computer and into the goggles via a cable. Not all goggles have a video in port.
I was looking at some cheap HD goggles and was wondering. Which ones do you think is better the Fatshark recon hd or the Walksnail L? Or should I just go for the analog Skyzone cobra Sd? Sorry it’s a lot but I just want to know
Walksnail needs to be on the correct firmware to bind. You have to update the firmware in the goggles and drone & then everything works perfectly. If you have no idea how to do that, just search for a vid on the topic (lots of vids out there).
can i connect analog video to 3.5mm jack? i know that it is headtracker, but on the pcb 3.5mm jack is named - cvbs and google says that cvbs is analog video
You didn't say if your friend was far sighted or near sighted. Im far sighted so things close to my eyes are blurry which has what has stopped me from getting into FPV
@@karthurjr I can’t wrap my mind around how that would work since corrective lenses are based on an individual eye prescription (different for each eye most times). In a box goggles I’m lost as to how they’d accomplish this, but if they say it’s possible I guess it is.
Got the Neo today and, yeah, as everyone said, it's quite disappointing image quality coming from DJI (don't quote me on this, but I'd say even comparable to the Tello), but other than that it flies fine and eats branches like a champ. I'm a DJI btch so what can I do 🤷♂
I knew this day would come. Finally some decent goggles and they won’t break the bank! Thanks for the excellent review of them. 👍👍😀
Pretty awesome to get digital goggles for $200!

I am negative 4.5 in both eyes, small astigmatism in left eye, but I believe the prescription lenses for 40$ would fix that for me.

Hi Steve, the goggle is quite impressive really. Although what about the walksnail x second generation when will it be released?!
Currently I have no information on a NEW Walksnail goggle release

great video captain! i hope caddx can produce one goggles better than the x and no overheat problems or maybe less bug!
Suggest a best vtx camera for Walksnail avatar goggles L
If it's below 250 grams, can you go aboven 400 feet?
wow awsome review Steve. and jedi steve

Can i buy the goggles L in 2 or 3 month still for 249€,or its getting higher next month?
