That is so true. When it comes to FPV Drones, it is difficult to purchase one that “Sucks”…. Now when it comes to the GPS Camera Drone hobby… Plenty still “Sucks” in the budget range.
Hi Steve 😀👋 my friend. A very unique looking drone. Sorta naked, but flys really good 👍. The video 💯 quality is amazing and fantastic. Another great video 💯. Thank you so very much Steve for sharing this wonderful video and God bless you and your family always 🙏. Have a great weekend everyone.
Well done Captain!!; What a superb Quad (if thats the right descriptor!!); loved the "Racing Gate" footage; and provided a lot of laughs!; the DJI footage from that particular Camera never seases to amaze me!; arguably , you could plonk it on a MJX Bugs and bingo !! amazing Video !!!
With this being the year 2024, most companies ship with FPV Drone flight controllers already coated. I fly FPV Drones all year long, which means during our winter season I fly/land/crash in the snow, and have never had an issue.
😂 bro just say you’ve never built your own quad! 😅 Mate I fly over the surf daily, I live in damp Cornwall, it’s all good buddy 👍🤝 you got good solder joints then you got nothing to worry about 😉
Hello Steve, thanks for your help, I removed the thin plastic Blade supports on my Huey and loosened the main Blades and the death shake issue is gone. Thanks so much be safe, blue skies!
Which would you get if you had to choose 1 - Flylens 85 o4 pro or Flytimes 85 o4 pro for Cinematic, flying around people, and freestyle flying?? And do you think the flytimes 85 offers enough duct protection?
Amazing little drone. Looks like it would be a fun flyer. The 03 system really does well on it and makes for great video. Surprisingly long distance for such a little drone too. I wonder if the landing gear could be enhanced to prevent the damage to the props? That seams to be the only negative. 👍👍👨🦳
Always enjoy your vids - always happy, clever and informative - but flying acro indoors is better than angle mode - because when you bump a wall - nothing happens. Try it. Acro can be liberating indoors. And I'll order more props, for mine - which I'm still setting up. (my first go with ELRS)
Oh I have flown Acro indoors for a large number of years… However, after destroying my wife’s newly painted walls too many times, I “wisely” know when and when not to fly Acro indoors.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Trying to load an official FW version - it came with FW called "merge 481985" and that made me nervous about flying it. But I was able to bind that version to my Tx. I'm new to ELRS - so that might have come into it getting bricked. However, all unbricking instructions say you have to power the Rx by a non-USB pwr source while unbricking it - and that's not possible with this ELRS embedded in the FC. I did ask Flywoo several times if the RX-BOOT button on the FC has a useful function for unbricking the ELRS Rx in the FC - but they've ignored my questions - several over several days. I did try powering up while pressing the button - still bricked.

To be honest Steve I am getting back into flying planes more now. But if i can replace that motor on my mavic mini 2 i will fly that to. But flying planes is my first love.
@@jeffberry754 The opposite is true here. With our cold snow winter season arriving soon, I find it easier to pull out an FPV drone and fly 3 batteries worth, rather than flying a plane with no runway.
Im completely new to drones and im a little confused on whether the drone comes with a camera thats capable of cinematic shots or do we need to attach a go pro to it or something in that realm?

I think it's great and I'm thinking about getting one. I just don't know which one would be the best option. Thanks again for sharing Steve. 👍👍👍
Inverted prop whoops in 85mm range is an UNFORTUNATE trend. While it can be argued to give a less obstructed view, it hampers having fun outdoors, because it negatively impacts the ability to "turtle" recover quads after inevitable crashes. The problem is that when the quad lies on ground (like in grass) after a turtle maneuver, the props get hung up on grass and weeds. There is a much better success rate when doing turtle recoveries with a traditional whoop, that has a tall canopy that gives prop clearance when upside down, and also much better prop clearance after one gets quad flipped right side up.
Normally the blades (number) is based on the KV of the motor (resistance). My guess is they did some testing and the 2” two blades provided best performance to flight time.
I have the DJI newest Google's (not the budget one that was recently released) will my Google work with these hype drones. I have the neo and want to expand to true FPV. If I can avoid buying the avata that would be great. I find it to be to big and clunky.
Boy oh boy, these drone just keep getting better!! Great vid Captain!

Glad you liked the video, thanks for the kind words!
What a great fun drone Capt. Steve, loved the edit with crashes!😅👌👊
Ha ha, everyone crashes FPV drones (I usually always crash on landings), but thankfully FPV Drones are all built solid.

I certainly love the new breed of FPV drones…. Great cameras, great flight controllers, plenty of fun!
Fun video ! 😃
Very nice quad.
I appreciate your continued passion for reviewing the coolest gear in the hobby,
Thanks captain!!
Many thanks! I appreciate it! And more importantly, thanks for supporting the channel!
A naked build like this minimally needs to have a film of conformal coat to prevent accidental shorts.

Thank you greatly! I hope to continue crashing for many more years!
That is a cool little drone.
Steve, you could open up some walls in your house.
But that would probably add to the energy bill.
Yes, explaining to my wife that I need more indoor space to fly drones would go over amazingly well. 😂
You should join with Nick and the rest of us in RaceGOW and work on those precision flying skills.
I’m in a tournament this weekend… plenty of Captain Drone smashing into things on the Menu!
Really nice drone i like the set up
awsome review Captain.
Many Thanks!

One caution - if you brick the ELRS Rx, that's it - no way to unbrick it. (I just finished soldering on a Tracer Rx.)
How did you brick your ELRS receiver?

Flytimes or the Flylens 85 if you could only have one? With the naked 03

It doesn't go further than 200 m
And disconnected

Something is broken on your end. My guess is that the antenna on the drone is not connected.

Flytimes or flylens?

Only if you practice on an FPV Flight Sim and can fly in ACRO mode without crashing.
There are no spaces to small for acro mode 😬
