Cheating is a concept that has unfortunately plagued even some of the highest levels of competitive gaming, throwing a wrench in not only the true spirit of eSports, but competitive gaming as a whole. Really fun video! Really like how many topics around cheating in gaming you covered. I would have liked to see you further answer the "and why it's stupid" bit and look more at the motivations of cheaters and why/when they dont choose to cheat, like RL having so few cheaters despite being highly competitive.

The only time i've ever cheated in a game was CoD4 back on ps3 when it was pretty easy to modify game files with a usb stick..

Ill admit, I cheated in MW2 way back when I was 14, but got banned pretty quickly. Havent done it since. That VAC ban remains a stain on my Steam account

I used to cheat in CS:GO back in 2017, when the game still had passes people cared about and I just used it in casual/arms race to level up my pass token faster. Sometime later my friends jokingly asked that I should play competitive with them with cheats on and I found the idea funny. Not long after that I made my cheats seem very obvious and basically deemed my account vac-banned (which actually happened after 2 matches or so). Do I regret it? Not really it was quite funny to get banned live lol. Do I cheat nowadays? Hell no, having grown up I value my, and others', time more + I dont wanna risk my pc getting infected.
One thing to mention is that most cheaters are usually kids that are too frustrated with skilled players that they feel its justified to cheat and beat them. The adults who cheat have likely been cheating in games for years and they are a special case. Though you won't see a kid cheating 9/10 times cause they dont stream/share their thoughts publicly :)
in R6 i was playing at the hight of a cheating problem , of people going in the sky isnta killing everyone
we had a guy take his pistol point at the sky and shoot the moment the cheat TP and saved the game
i don't know if he was the chetaer that only cheat agaisnt cheater or just god but it was a very funny knight
