    Another small thing to mention, is when players use crowd reactions at large tournaments to gather information. Like the famous example where simple on overpass was using the crowd to hear somebody in B construction, and realizing that it was unfair, made a noise to give away his position. Or the radar bug through smoke.

      This was initially included in the script of this video, but I cut it in the final product. Not sure why actually, I think it wouldve added a good bit, sometimes i make last-minute decisions like that while editing that i regret later. If you're interested in my take, here is the cut script segment:
      Recently there’s been a lot of buzz about crowd cheating due to the Rio major and the crowd doing some not-so-subtle things to help the Brazilian teams. The crowd yelling and getting excited when something is about to happen is something that has happened for a long time, and is unfortunately something that is not possible to fix without eliminating an important part of LAN cs. (Rain using crowd clip) It is common now for teams from especially passionate nations to cheat for their teams (Danes, Brazillians, and Russians namely). Nobody ever really gets banned due to this, but there have been a lot of measures to try to limit it. However, I have heard Launders point out that no matter how effective noise-cancelling headphones are, the crowd causes vibration which are sent throughout the stadium, and there really isnt anything you can do to stop that without not having a crowd at all. Which would suck.

      peripherral cheats are indeed an issue. I remember there was a mouse that could be programmed with recoil patterns. And pretty much any "gaming" mouse of the last 15-20 years is able to save macros. Could be something simple like an autoclicker to get the perfect firerate from semi auto weapons, but also something more complicated like a bhop script or name macro.
      And they're hard to detect, especially when they're saved on the mouse itself and not as driver profile.

    The funny thing about a cheater naming his cheat word.exe is that Microsoft Word's executable name is winword.exe. This is an artifact from the days when MS Word was made for MS-DOS... there the name was word.exe. A trend I'm seeing with your videos is that they feel rushed. Like, you seem to be talking about a topic and you expand on it a little before completely dropping it and moving on. This video feels like a prime example of it. You could have doubled the length of the video by talking more about the whys and the hows of the cheats and exploits, or even showing more reactions to it, like you did with the Tarik/JasonR clip.
    I'm watching this video and I just feel like I don't have time to digest the info you've just given me because you've already moved on. Pace yourself and try to add more padding to whatever it is that you're talking about. I know that it might feel difficult to do so on some videos (like the Canals one) but this one shouldn't have been too difficult.

      @thankyou4328 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MontySlython this was the most basic a video could be on the history of cheats. it reads like a reddit comment more than a "comprehensive history". I thought I would learn something new, instead he just described at a surface level a few instances of cheating and moved on. He also had numerous facts wrong which is unacceptable considering how little was said in this video. I think people are so starved for cs content that anyone who makes any decently edited stuff is going to be fawned over even if the content is mediocre.

    • @MontySlython
      @MontySlython ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thankyou4328 I agree, I mean that and the editing is the entire reason thescore esports even built up any subscriber base despite being wrong nearly constantly and making extremely half baked videos, on top of spouting "insert popular opinion about esport news" . They are by far the biggest example of this phenomenon.

    Grouping the olofboost in with actual cheaters and matchfixers really doesn't sit right with me man, especially considering that they unknowingly broke exactly the same rule as other teams during the tournament. People have a jaded sense of history during that time due to the massive amounts of resentment from "the community" purely because of how dominant fnatic were during that time.

    I think its important to add that BIG wasnt part of the meeting because nobody asked them to join. After the discussion everyone agreed and BIG went on to beat SK on Inferno 16:14 WITHOUT the jump bug. Otherwise, nice video - keep up the good work!

    KQLY was tragic, because he was incredible and succumbed to the pressures of high level play and ended up cheating to guarantee the win because he couldn't deal with the stress. Where as Forsaken was dogshit through and through.

    Mannn... I was looking for the VP phone hack... but I can't find the footage, and alas - not mentioned here.
    Byali (I think) had his phone connected to the PC, then at some point the admins removed the phone and the WHOLE of VP looked crushed - knowing their unfair advantage is now kaput.
    If anyone knows where I can find that let me know - their reaction was priceless!

    5:50 Monesy's one way was explicitly ruled as "legal" by PGL before valve patched it. The BIG jumping-crouch bug was also ruled legal. AFAIK the "gents" agreement not to use it came AFTER it was initially used by BIG. Both instances are trashy for sure, but saying that they were deemed illegal in the video is plain not true
