Why Competitive Gaming is Special
Competitive gaming is something that's changed a lot over the last few decades. From tournaments offering $10 prize pools all the way up to millions of dollars today; it's no secret that eSports has evolved into something truly remarkable in our modern era; but it begs the question: Why are people drawn to the idea of competitive gaming? Why is it special?

มุมมอง 1K9 หลายเดือนก่อน

How I got Trackmania's Most Suspicious World Record
มุมมอง 75K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
In the world's most competitive racing game, being able to call yourself a World Record holder for even just a day is a truly remarkable achievement; but what if you managed to do it with less than 100 hours played in the game? Today we talk about how I achieved my first Trackmania world record in only 83 hours of playing, and how I had to prove to a few skeptics that my runs were being played ...
Cheating in Competitive Gaming (and why it's stupid)
มุมมอง 1.9Kปีที่แล้ว
"Once a cheater, always a cheater." Cheating is a concept that has unfortunately plagued even some of the highest levels of competitive gaming, throwing a wrench in not only the true spirit of eSports, but competitive gaming as a whole. Today we'll talk about CHEATING, and why honestly, it just kinda sucks. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Full Credit to CharlieBrown64 for a large part of the S...
The Perfect Controller
มุมมอง 2.4Kปีที่แล้ว
A controller is easily one of the most immersive and important parts to playing a video game. Because after all, without any sort of input device in our hands there simply would be no such thing as playing the games we know and love in the first place; but with that in mind, does there actually exist such a thing as a "perfect" controller? Or are we still fighting to one day create our ideal in...
The History of Speedrunning
มุมมอง 1.4Kปีที่แล้ว
Speedrunning is a topic that many have come to view as one of the most intriguing, and most interesting pastimes of the modern day gaming scene. There's something inherently intriguing about pushing video games to their absolute limits, graying the lines between what is and isn't humanly possible to achieve, and because of this very philosophy, speedrunning has only continued to grow more and m...
Melee is a Competitive Masterpiece.
มุมมอง 83K2 ปีที่แล้ว
When it comes to competitive fighting games, there aren't many that can assume the title as a true masterpiece. To say the least, the legacy this game holds is one worthy of an entire lifetime. Today we'll dive into a true masterpiece of competitive gaming with an analysis of the fan-favorite Smash game: Melee for the Nintendo Gamecube. I hope you enjoy! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ - Credit ...
It's been a year, woah
I used to play keyboard, where that is the only way you can play. So when jumped on a controller i just could not unteach myself. My left thumb is just too stupid to keep the steering at an angle. So yeah, thats how I drive too. Also, people with analog keyboars have similar inputs sometimes on fast tracks.
Keep pushing this channel, bro. You`ve got everything you need. It seems not so promising by now, but if you manage to upload 3-4 vids every month its almost guaranteed to hit 100-300k subs in year or two. Its snowballs rapidly, you just got to trust it and put some more effort. And do not go for sponsorship very early, its vibe-breaker. Wait til 70-100k)
The sky is blue
Underrated channel
I play the exact same way by tapping really fast to turn, instead of trying to smooth steer😂
di mixups happen, idk what your talking about, literally go off king. stick to a basis and get good soon dawg.
best 5 min intro ive seen on jah
This game will never get old as long as new talent get to create their own styles.
real
I played trackmania on KB for years, and when I went to controller that is literally exactly what my inputs would have looked like. Like down to even the frequency.
ngl video like this having only 300 views is A CRIME
How can such a good TH-camr go unnoticed. 😔
This honestly means a lot to me, thanks so much for your kind words :)
This is stupid, it's barely the same thing with Lion King 1994, thinking that it's a flawless movie/game, GTFO. DOWN WITH COMPETITIVE MELEE!
"Events like Smash Summit, the Big House, Pound" 😭😭😭
Melee the best video game in the world.
Ending the montage with an up throw rest is a nice spit in the face to spacies but otherwise sweet video
when I saw your inputs in the very first run you showed, I was thinking you're just using an analog keyboard
ICs are high-tier? Since wobbling was banned? I'm having trouble accepting that idea until someone advances the meta.
Melee is a Top 10 competitive fighting game of all time.
omg this musta took so much work, how does this only have 1.4k views 😭
9:29 ngl this is a how my hands look when plying also… more of a tap tap on the analog than a smooth motion…Great job man a wr after two weeks is insane!! Congrats
I just clicked on the video, but Im already excited because of the Raskulls profile pic. Exquisite taste.
great video! keep it up
congratulation
this goes hard, impressive editing and great script. underrated
I feel like we'd be great friends if you still keep up with rocket league and watch melee :) Great video
fire vid. you got clipped in rl tho🤭 6:35
Well my bad for starting to know you near the end of your rocket league career lol jk. Great video. Keep it up!
another absolute banger out here by tokyo😎
Man i love tokyo 😍
this is really good tokyo
super sick video
No idea how you can make a video about the history of esports without mentioning StarCraft a single time.
very well edited, nice video
Well put together video man. That clip of that dude parrying those attacks on 1 hp was absolutely legendary. Very good job on this one.
mans used the jstn clip well played
lol first clipped you showed puff was camping and not approaching the entire time. It’s boring, stalling, and cringe to watch
Ok, so, a few things..... First off, the few comments you showed at the start of the video when talking about the "hate" Melee got, weren't even hateful at all, save for maybe one that I am convinced was a troll comment. Stuff like "This game is unbalanced", and "the glitchiest game in the series" are both perfectly valid criticism. Melee is the buggiest game in the series and the balance is completely lopsided, yet you wanna frame them as "hate"? A little extreme, no? Petty, but why show Sm4sh on stage when talking about Melee going to super majors? Just seems like a strange editing choice to make is all. One side of the whole "EVO 2013 shutdown" I think is ignored is the potential legal side of having games like Melee set up as a donation drive game, something this video forgot to mention. I cannot confirm this as any kind of true, but I have heard rumors that the reason why Nintendo stepped in with EVO 2013 was cause they did not get the thumbs up from Nintendo to have it as a mainstage game. How true are these? Hard to say, but a side of the conversation I think is overlooked in all the hype of having a game like Melee being respected. To say that there is no difference between someone playing Ult for a year vs 5 years is very dismissive to those who have taken the time to get good at the game, so to say that feels very dismissive and frankly a little rude to those who spent the time in the lab, and there is a difference. It is not the game's fault if you refuse to look any more than the bare minimum surface level. Also, I couldn't help but get a small laugh out of you calling the game all buggy as "quirky game engine details". It is ok to say the game is busted. No one will give you shit for it. If they do, that's a them issue. Overall, the video is presented well enough, but to call a game with a lopsided competitive roster, competitive mechanics that come from bugs (and stuff like an invisible ceiling just spawning to take sets, and phantom hits going completely unaddressed by the community to my knowledge, despite the community having the knowledge and skill set to do something about it, they gave the game a whole modern internet infrastructure, you cannot tell me they cannot address stuff like this and don't even start me on the fact that more than 1 character is incomplete) I can't in good faith call this game a masterpiece, competitive or otherwise, no matter how many people enjoyed it growing up, or how hype it is for some to watch.
This was really nice ;)
royal pear editor
the wr on Hockolicious is now a 50:00.00 (yeah- exactly 50 seconds- it was cut)
Good vid, but theres a lot of misinformation in here
That MU chart is terrible IMO
Competitively yea its fun but casually its a nightmare with the amount of glitchy mechanics and terible move
Hey i play like that too! Turning smoother feels much harder as I am pretty generally new to the game so your not actually alone in turning in tippy taps
I just started trackmania lately, and i do the same exact movement with the joystick. I think it probably stems from rocket league for me, since light turns are practically useless in RL
Such high production value for a small channel! Subbed and looking forward to more
I appreciate this a lot, thank you :D I'm glad you enjoyed !
Now I'm gonna start bouncing more in the games. :)
5:55 she*, Hazel is female Otherwise phenomenal video, pretty surprised by the quality and accuracy
This video fucking rocks! Loved the editing style and the explanations! You managed to really show how powerful this upgrade can be lol. Just a few additions, we can actually use tasbounce in real time, though the extent is much much smaller than in TAS of course. There's a strat for the final boss in Hero Story that allows you to hit Shadow in a few frames using a tasbounce setup I created, and there's a player by the name of AxlThunder that used tasbounces in some missions as Amy (there's a challenge where we swap characters and try to complete missions they were not meant to have access to), he's the only real time player that actually uses tasbounces. One last thing, I was the one who found the gravity control mechanic back in 2008 and started using it to skip things in ILs 😃
