      I did a trip where I left home and it was 23 deg and sunny. First night was freezing with 12 hours of rain. Not forecasted! That's why I carry too much gear. Thanks for watching.

    Not a whole lot of things are better than sleeping in a tent with rain. But when you add wind…well that changes things a bit. Great video.

      Cheers. I just wasnt prepared for the sounds being louder, then softer etc. But the rain is relaxing. Thunder and wind? Not so much.

      You are not wrong. Given the summer we have had, that might not happen until next year! We cant all live in sunny Southland.

    Great spot to camp. Last time I stayed there, I walked through from Aongatete

    Glad you at least had a bit of room in your Indie to hunker down. Looked cosy although I agree on the bad sleeps when rain is hammering down. Cheers

      There was plenty of room in the tent, even tho Im a pretty large unit. 2 person tents tend to be about right for me!

    Let’s play “count how many times rain is mentioned”. 😂 Nice campsite

      @OAPAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wasnt sure if I mentioned the weather. I'm not a fan of the rain, as you know from our trip.

      With some google for transcript it was said 30 times

      @@Upsidedownorangejuice It’s how to capture the algorithms attention to the key word “rain”, very clever

      @@OAPAdventures I’m guessing the weather forecast was likely rain and thunder and you made it happen 😉

      @@Upsidedownorangejuice Only 30? I wonder how many times I could have said it if I really tried.

    Thank you for the content, great video.
    So need to visit the clearing for an overnight, be nice short weekend trip up the waterfall, I wonder how safe the car park is to leave cars.
    To answer Outdoorsman Dave's comment you said rain 30 times.

      I used a shuttle service as I was away a couple of nights. They stored my car and dropped and collected me. Www.bikinghikingshuttles.co.nz

    Another great video. It was great when the hut was there. Still a great spot. What is the tent, as it seemed quite roomy?

    • @OAPAdventures
      @OAPAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The tent is an Orson Indie 2 person. It's from a local company called Intents Outdoors. I've had it a few years and very happy with it. Thanks for watching, again.
