    Can’t beat open spaces in comfy tents, warm drinks, biscuits & yummy food while out in nature. Back to basics with comfort is just wonderful. Thank you Oz😊

    35:18 Hi Peter, enjoyed the video and After you showed the Pronto airtent I bought my own. Only I had to buy the Pronto 5, because here in Holland they don’t sell the Pronto 4. Great tent! I like your Adventures, and Car camping is something we can do in Holland. Thank you for your efforts, by taking us with your camps. Gr. Leon. 😊already looking forward to the next one.

      The 5 is a good tent. I like the way the awning is attached, it seems to work a little better than the 4 in the rain. I find car camping better in the winter as I can take a few more luxuries and warm clothes!! Thanks for watching, and the kind words, it is appreciated.

    I see you have the campground to yourself again - that's good planning!
    I was going to say it's hard to make a small batch of chili, but you made that look like a single serving. We like kidney, black, and pinto beans in our chili; it's also good on hash browns in the morning or for dinner! I'm always looking for someone else's take on plant-based meals, so I appreciate you coming up with something, but you should cook what you like. I'm also a Trangia fan - what a clever system they've created.

      It mid-winter and only the hardy, or maybe fool-hardy, are out! Makes it easy to find an empty campground. I never seem to have enough for tomorrows meal. Leftovers? No idea what they are! My wife is a vegetarian and I enjoy good food, so Im happy with or without meat, as long as its tasty. Yep, Trangia is a simple, but very clever system.

    Great set up young fella, I would have added heaps of garlic and minced venison to the chilli, and being a Scotsman a bottle of whisky before bed.

      Dunno about the young fella comment, but I'll take it. I'll be doing a venison stew in the future, I just need to harvest a deer first. Thanks for watching.

      @@gregarmstrong5043 I have walked up the valley to Moss Camp and the Pinnacles. I had just not stayed at any of the camping grounds. I imagine it will be busy over summer, but for me, its a great spot for a quiet winter camp.

      We are relatively mild in terms of the temperatures. In my area its rare to get below 0 DegC. A water bottle filled with hot water does the trick. Thanks for watching.

    The table is a generic table made in China and sold by a number of retailers, but each brand as their own. The tent is made by Zempire and is called a Pronto 4.

    Hi Pete, thanks for the video. Can I ask what kind of lantern you were using in this video? Would you have a brand or a link you could share by any chance? Thanks again for your filming - keep up the great content!

      I have had them for over 20 years. The brand is UCO and they are their Candle Lanterns. If you're in NZ try: www.gearshop.co.nz/products/uco-original-candle-lantern. Thanks for watching.

    Really informative video, thank you! I live in Perth, Western Australia and I'm also thinking of buying a Pronto 4. Just wondering if you have used it in windy conditions and how well it performed? I'm also a little concerned that the awning doesn't cover the sides, so in rain and wind could rain find its way into the tent that way?

    • @OAPAdventures
      @OAPAdventures  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Its fine in the wind. I use all the ropes and keep things tight. The awning is small and doesnt protect from the rain as much as I would like. I try to pitch the tent with the rear facing the wind/weather so the rain blows over the tent. If the rain is coming from one side of the tent, I will drop the awning on that side by reducing the height of the pole and zipping the awning further down the tent sides. You can see that in the thumbnail photo. Its not perfect, but it mostly works. In saying that, I have been out in very heavy rain and strong winds. However, there are better options for a Zempire tent if you are looking for an awning that fully covers the sides. Thanks for watching.

      @@OAPAdventures Thanks so much for taking the trouble to reply - very much appreciated! One very last question. The fly also doesn't cover the sides either - any problems with water getting in there! Thank you!

      @@richardlailey6142 Its a strange design with the windows and the tent sides etc and I was a little concerned. In practise, it does work. I have not had any leaks through the seems around the windows, or the walls, from the rain driving into the sides.
