  • Be prepared: The audio may be loud! 🎧🔊😮
This video shows an acceleration test of my Maverick EcoBoost in Sport mode with Low selected and traction control turned off.
The acceleration is amazing! It reminds me of the acceleration of a 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8 or an automatic 2015 Subaru WRX, but not quite as quick as a 7-speed automatic 2013 Nissan 370Z (I speak from experience).
In any case, I enjoyed making this video thanks to awesome help from my brother -- (Michael Hedrick) WetShaves / @hedrickwetshaves1997 😎😃
I have included specific details about the truck below:
It's a 2024 Ford Maverick XL AWD 2.0L EcoBoost with the following packages and options:
    Equipment Group 100A
Tonneau Pickup Box Cover Hard Tri-fold
    4K Tow Package
    Ford Co-Pilot360 Package
    Bedliner - Spray-in
    Color: Atlas Blue Metallic

Hi! I read that you want to use the L button when you want the car not being able to switch gears. But in the video you used the L button to drag. Is that right? Does the car shift gears when in sport and L engaged? If that’s so, what were the benefits you saw?
    Thanks!

@@chrisd2730 Excellent question! Yes, I used the L button for a kind of "drag" acceleration mode because it kept the transmission in a lower gear (within the "power band" of peak torque and peak horsepower) longer before automatically shifting up to the next gear. Additionally, L (Low) mode allowed me to begin the acceleration from a lower gear without having to wait for the transmission to downshift. It saves some acceleration time versus waiting for the transmission to "hunt" for a lower gear when initially depressing the accelerator pedal. But even just using Sport mode without the L button has essentially the same benefits -- just not quite as extreme. 🙂 Thanks for your comment!
