I have a g502 hero and absolutely love it, but I'm sad to see the metal scroll wheel go
it's for the weight on the wireless as the battery takes more

For a second I was thinking "oh cool they have the same mouse as me."
But oh, they had to add "x" at the end.
I got the x one and then i heard x plus with rgb and got mad
I wanted the plus but ended up purchasing the black light speed x non rgb as it was 20 dollars extra just for rgb . Black light speed x is just under 100 grams so I figured it would be nice to have the biggest possible weight reduction since it can’t get much lower it seems
been using a g502 since the release of the proteus core. i have only bought two because when my original from 2013 was getting near it's warranty end i just did an rma, and even told them why on the phone, they sent me a proteus spectrum as a replacement. that mouse lasted a few more years and when one of the buttons started having issues i bought a g502 hero (for less than 50 bucks). so i have bought two so far with nearly a decade of use. they feel great and i love a heavy mouse, logitech has always had great service (not the only logitech product i have sent back on rma, and even a few i didn't have to send back). just at least for me an awesome mouse all around.
Now we wait for the Type-C superlight
optical is most important thing im sick of double click less than 6 month
I bought this mouse (without rgb) a couple months ago and i super recommend it, the battery lasts for 15+ days, it's very comfortable and smooth! I removed the thumb button because I didn't get used to it
I have the g502 hero plus but in white and I’m satisfied. The new mouse pad grips definitely are much much better, probably the best upgrade about it. I’m also really happy they offered a white version to go with my setup
That's good to hear about the grips. I've been using the 502 Heros for years but when I tried the original 502 wireless the grips felt so slick out of the box. The slightly different angle on the palm cramped my hand as well. I might have to try the new X series grips.
Just bought it on sale at Amazon. Really nice mouse. I compared it to the older model with the weights. Small differences but I proffered the new wheel, light weight, and rgb. 😊
Anybody complaining about the scroll wheel hasn't used both. The old freescroll would go too fast to poll very frequently, where this is much more consistent and easy to control. You won't scroll too fast by accident either on this mouse, great for movement in games where a huge factor is minimizing times between inputs
after years of owning a 502 (inkl hero and SE) for several years i switched over to the razer basilsik v3 ...im quite impressed
what are the biggest differences?
@@UncleJemima mhhh mouse Wheel is very different (imo much better), button placement is better and it is a bit grippier I think…. Downside is that the weights are missing but it is nice to handle because it‘s lighter overall

I'm a long time G502 user but am considering the Model I due to it's light weight
model I far better
technically g502 hero, lightspeed, x, x lightspeed and x plus have better hardware, but yeah, its pretty annoying the weight, the cable, and other things. so i think both mouses are good

@@jojodicus The G502 x series, lightest is ~89g. Best option currently. Not that the weight is gonna make it optimal for aim based gaming, never understood why you need an infinite scroll anyway

I think they removed the sound the scrollwheel made when unlocking it, spinning it really fast and the locking it again

Logitech Needs to keep up with the times with at minimum having ability to mix and match or replace the switches by using hotswap sockets that can use both mechanical switches (Omron/Kailh 4.0/8.0/TTC Gold) and Optical Switches. So you don't waste $150 every time some left or right click switch starts double clicking or you don't like the feeling of how the clickyness feels on a certain mouse and want left click to use an optical switch and right click to use a mechanical switch or something, but you love the size and features of the mouse.
Standard now in just about every Asus mouse, and many more slowly following. as well as the option to use all 3 connection options. (mouse plugged in via USB wired with the detachable USB-C cable/Bluetooth 5.2/or the USB 2.4ghz wireless dongle to plug into your laptop, Desktop, Gaming Console,tablet etc.). Even cheap corsair mice that go for $60 have the triple connection options.
IIRC the hot swap sockets are patented by ASUS or something.

Im definitely buying one. G304 has been a good mouse for more than 2 yrs now.
just in case you havent yet, understand that this mouse is super bulky and not at all similar to a g304. a razer orochi v2 is basically the updated version of the g304 in terms of weight, tech, and shape, so i'd really suggest that instead, or a g pro x superlight if you want to stay with logitech
2 years is rookie numbers, my g402 is almost 7 years old
Trust me you want the extra buttons! It only took me 5 mins to know I like it but If you don’t enjoy this mouse right away, just return it the next day.
Personly I prefer the look of the G502 lightpeed
Using the original 502 (proteus core i think) since it came out, i only replaced the bottom pads, it's working flawlessly, i'm kinda skinny guy but i have all the weights on the mouse, it feels balanced and still don't get tired by using it (altough i don't really play competitives)

Anyone else use the Basilisk? It’s cheap and has RGB albeit wired. Been using it for about 6 months now for Tarkov and other FPS and it’s great. For MMO type games I use the Naga.
Ive stopped using my g502 and switched to the much cheaper g209 the only thing i actually miss is the scroll wheel. That beign said im not the most competitive of players
I love this mouse but the reason i switched to different mouse is because g502 is a gigantic piece of weight compared to other mouses.
Best mouse ever created reached grandmaster in smite ,ow1 ow2, lem in cs go and 21k elo in cs2 .
It does not keep all the features from the G502, specifically my favorite feature; the adjustable weight system. I like a heavy mouse and the removal of that is the one thing keeping me from upgrading.

Had one for about a month and returned it to grab a super light 2, I love all the programmable buttons but the mouse is just so ungodly heavy and big for no reason lol

The g502 se is also rgb but wireless . I got that . But I’m planning to go all wireless soon .
Switched to Mx master 3s and oh boy.. I'm only gaming on my pc and that was the best decision ever. Comfort from the mouse it being silent and the feel from the clicks is beyond any expectations. Would highly recommend master 3s over any GAMING mouse.
hmm how are the switches? i doubt it's been out long enough to get a full rundown but does it go through the same "dead" switch double click flaw?

I have a white G502X Lightspeed and love it, I mainly use it for RPG or less fast paced games. As I use and daily drive a DAV3 for fps and other games but still love this mouse.

Have not tried one of those but still wonder how it can beat an Mx series. Those are just bang solid.
Do know youre comment is 11 months old but I recently bought this one while owning the mx 3s. I like both but for gaming the polling rate of the 3s is just to low at 125. The 502 feels smoother with the polling closer to 1k. If the mx one had better polling I would not have bought the 502 like the hold of the 3s better and the scroll wheel on the side is nice.
A baby from both would be amazing, 1k polling, size of the mx 3s, scroll add the side, extra buttons.

I have this exact mouse as I got this gifted for my birthday and I can approve this is smoother than a baby’s butt.
I feel like the side two buttons I need for leaning are in the wrong place , I assumed that’s where my fingers would rest and I had bad games … I figured I had to test my thumb on the grip but that means the buttons are not in a natural position.
Feel like basilisk v3 pro are better.
Bought this product 4 months back and after using it daily, both the left and right mouse buttons stopped working.
After investigating other reviews, this seems to be a consistent problem with the mouse.
As a guess a metal contact for the switches change with temperature and stop working.
Stupidly everyone with this problem has solved it by putting the mouse in the fridge to cool the metal plate back to touching. This solution also worked for me but putting a ~$250AUD product in and out of the fridge every 15mins is unbelievably stupid.
Don’t get me wrong I love the design of the mouse, I still got my first g502.
But the g502x series feels cheaper in build quality and this button failure was disappointing to see.

G502 was a great mouse but the cheap switches broke down within 2 months. Got the mouse replaced in warranty - switches broke down again in 6 months. Got it replaced again. Broke within another 6 months. Soldered Kailh GM 8 switches on myself and working fine for a year now. They had a great mouse thats got all the bells and whistles but they had to cheap out on switches.

Logitech used Japanese and Chinese Omron switches in the G502. If you were unlucky enough to get the Chinese ones from the initial production batches, they only lasted 3-4 months. Japanese ones worked fine.
Also, you have to slam the mouse around during gaming. That's the rule. 🤣
Hey, do you know if you can remap the forward and backward scroll of the wheel with this one? The previous models only let you remap the wheel click and the right and left tilt. I dont know if this is a hardware or software thing.
You cannot. It’s a software thing. No idea why they don’t allow you to do what you want. Just like the g915 line keyboards don’t allow any macros on anything but the “macro” F keys like what??

it baffles me how they took away the LED locations of the old G502 and replaced the premium one with RGB -- wait for it- on the palm rest where nobody,even you would see most of the time.

Yes. But you can reuse the bottom plate with G logo/weights from older mouse to the new X plus.

@@frostgodx Sadly my G Hub is buggy and wouldnt save the RGB and i think not even DPI. Yes, i've changed the profile in the memory to the new profile i made for it and whenever i turn OBM ON it reverts to pink/blue
OBMM does the job but doesnt have the sleep timer function and can only use a few RGB modes
Luckily i could save "Never sleep" in the memory and still keep it after using OBMM
Hopefully the next patch fixes it, but i dou bt it
