I saw Ms. Rashad one day at the airport. She was walking up behind me and all of the black people, including TSA agents, had a “moment”. She is so regal and truly, class personified. I waved at her discreetly because I didn’t want to bring attention (she didn’t have security with her) She smiled and waved back. I cried on the inside ❤️

Cool story for which I can also relate....as a Delta jet mechanic I spend a good number of days in Hartsfield Jackson airport, as you might imagine. I have seen her 5 different times as she was passing through Atlanta. A few times were so close together that she said to me once, "there you are again, my airport angel," and then flashed that incredibly warm, motherly smile. Maaaaaaan ya'll don't know how lit up I was, lol. This woman is the Hallmark of class. You can tell that she's not just passing by, but rather, she takes notice of you. Not many celebs you can say that about. Didn't mean to hi-jack your story, but wanted to add to it. 😊

@@tima.478 That's awesome. I knew she would be a genuine person. You can just see it, from her character, Claire Huxtable.
I met her sister Debbie Allen at, The Lakers Forum. I was in a basketball tournament there. After The Lakers Game, We played our tournament games on the Lakers Court. I was on the ground floor just walking, until it was our teams time to play. I was only 14 years old, in 1979.
Anyway, I look up, and who do I see? Debbie Allen & her husband, Norm Nixon. They were hugged up, walking towards the door and she was close enough, that i could have shook her hand. She looked at me & said, Hello! And of course I spoke back. That was at a time when Debbie Allen was the dance teacher on the TV show, Fame. And Norm played with, The Lakers. I still remember the green leather trench coat, Debbie Allen was wearing.
I was obsessed with that show. So every time they had a live concert show, my 2 sisters and I were there. But one live concert show I went with the Drill Team from Lueders Park, in Compton, CA. It was held at the Santa Monica Convention Center. I was 15 then. During one of the songs, she came off stage singing. I was about 10 rows back, and about the 6th person in the row. She looked at me and waved. I thought wow! Does she remember my face?
When I was 17, my 2 sisters ages 16, and 13. The tv show was holding a concert show outside. So everyone was sitting on the grass. My 2 sisters and I were sitting, about the fourth row back, I was sitting on the end. And once again, Debbie Allen was singing, she came off stage, walked over to me, and gave me a hug, and winked. I was all smiles. This show was actually held on Rideo Drive, in Beverly Hills.
Living in Southern, CA. I have come across many celebrities. I have gotten many autographs. Including The guy who played Roger Thomas, on the TV show, What's Happening. I acquired his autograph at my 6th grade graduation at my school in Compton, CA. He was the guest speaker at the graduation. I would see him another time, when I was 15, at a drill team competition. I spotted him coming down out of the stands. I said, that's Ernest Thomas. So I went outside to buy myself something to eat, and he comes walking out, and I quietly said, you're Ernest Thomas, aren't you? He says, yes. And proceeds to say, he has a niece in one of the drill teams here. I told him how he came and spoke at my 6th grade graduation. I mention the schools name, and he remembered.
My Southern California days are over. I moved to Sacramento, CA in 1988. I was 23. The only celeb I saw there, and got an autograph from, and a picture taken with her, at Tower Records, was Jasmine Guy.
8 years ago, I moved here to Lexington, Ky. And I haven't seen any celebs. 😫

I learned English watching the Cosby show on TV. As a little immigrant girl from Africa living in a land where no one looked like me or my family it was so powerful to see a family who looked like my family and I. Representation matters in so many ways but to see a beautiful, loving, successful black family really made me proud of who I was as a little black child. I remember admiring her beautiful smile and her hair which was similar to my hair and thinking how much she looks like my own cousin who had the same hairstyles as her.

Malcom X said that Plymouth 🪨 landed on us, meaning that indigenous Genesis Negroids were already in the Americas and the Caribbean before everyone else, establishing the very first civilizations, Martin Luther King Jr collaborated by saying we were conquered and imprisoned in our homelands as Foundational Negroids. The Caucasian Elites 1% that establish their school systems all throughout the Americas Europe all around the world, have been controlling the narratives on how indigenous phenotype negroids came about or came into existence on all Continents Landmasses, all throughout Middle Earth East.
They are still exist plenty of books records, proving all of the above, but you won't hear it on the major television stations controlled by the 1%, especially their school systems curriculums.

What a beautiful story about my two fav artist Phylicia Rashad and Debbie Allen. It was amazing how their mom uprooted them, and moved to Mexico where they were appreciated, and thrived, to where they became the stars they are.
In the Cosby shows not only was I impressed with how she portrayed a lawyer, and I always see a female lawyer as superbad, but I also was impressed how she took care of home. But my most cherished memory of her, and it may have been on Different World, but she sang solo, at a Hilman graduation, the song "Seek Ye First", and I was spellbound at how beautifully she sang it. But not just that, she was singing it like this is what you must do, the words were so truthfully said. So after then I did begin seeking God first, instead of seeking things first.
Not forgetting Debbie Allen one of the best dancer an choreographers I've known.
These two are the sum results of what their mom and dad instilled, in them.

My next favorite will be the lady from off of Thea the sitcom with Jason Weaver, and Brandy even though this show did not last too long it was one of my favorites. When Vanessa took her butt to Baltimore (to have BIG FUN while seeing “The Wretched” in concert) and her mom went off on her (AND on Rudy who thought she’d make it her business to join in the festivities and listen on the stairs) and Vanessa asked for her punishment so she could just go to bed, I thought Phylicia might kill her.

And mama wasn't playin the radio on her husband having a "guest" in her damned house! She got that shotgun!!! My granny did the SAME SHIT, but the gun didn't go off, so she beat thar broad with the butt of the gun, the woman was SLEEP IN MY GRANNY'S BED! Granny pulled the revolver trigger 3 times to that woman's temple. Never went off. So, like I said, she beat her over the head instead. These older women AIN'T NO JOKE.

Her mother was a beautiful woman, too, they look so much alike, like they could have been sisters. That photo of a young Phylicia at 3:25 really grabbed my attention, because she looks so much like a young Whitney Houston. Phylicia is such an amazing woman that presents a bright, intense personality poised with class and dignity, a truly gifted actress!

    • @ThundermansThunder
      @ThundermansThunder 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@Draper Scott You must be looking at the wrong image, because the image I am referencing is only there from roughly 3:23 to 3:27 so it is on and off in only a second or two and quite easy to miss. Phylicia is sitting on the floor in front of a radiator with her elbows on her knees reading some papers. She looks quite different in every other shot, quite different from Whitney, but in that singular photo she looks very much as Whitney did in the early 1990's, which is why that photo jumped out at me.
