I know this is just from an 80's fan, but I didn't know or maybe didn't pay attention to your substance abuse and most of your history in life, but hearing about the Fentanyl addiction along with heroine use, I have to say I am proud you fought those demons. My son is going through his addiction and cannot stop as much as he tried. I pray everyday for him and hope that he get what you had to stop and continue your sober life. I have to say I am extremely proud of you in all you have accomplished in live with all those obstacles. You are a beautiful woman. much love.
Amen! 🙏 We will also pray for you and your son. We are sure he'll win the fight one day! Keep believing! Allow me to pin this for our subscribers, our family to also put your son in prayers.
Chaka does give the difficult family dimensions of life hope though her energy and talent and willingness to overcome ones destructive behaviors in desires to reach there personal dreams
Hi Ms. Khan, I'm Vincent formerly the Bass Player for Lakeside from Dayton, Ohio. I'm 70 years old now, but I was always inspired by your super talent both singing and on stage performances. You are an inspiration to so many people all around the world. There will never never ever be another artist like Chaka Khan. Be Blesses!!
I worked at the airport and Chaka and the group checked in for the flight to LAX. I was stunned to see her, my idol. She was so pleasant and nice and not the least proud or anything. She even helped with the luggage. She spoke German to me when she found out I was from Germany. She lived there a few years. Just a super nice person !!
I have been a fan since the mid 1970's. I still listen to "Tell Me Something Good" and "Sweet Thing" on a regular basis. I love that she sang back up vocals to rock artists like Steve Winwood on his hit song "Higher Love." Her collaboration with many other artists has always impressed me, that voice and her incredible talent make her one of my favorite entertainers. There is no one else like Chaka!
I wasn't born until 79, but because of my older relatives, I gained a love early on, not realizing that a lot of the music that I love came before I was born.
When I was ,15 I saw Rufus and Chaka in 1975. It was the best band and featured singer I had ever seen. Forty eight years later I'm still a big fan. She's a living legend and an icon.❤️
✊🏽…Yasss same….Saw Stevie Wonder & Chaka Long Beach Cali 1975 …Memorable show…she hit the stage tilted and quite tight 💊 🍹 that night and couldn’t finish her set, ever professional Stevie set theater on fire!
She's a living legend and her talents hit just as hard today as they did 50 years ago. We are blessed to have her sharing her gift with us! 🎉🌹💐🌷🌺🌸🌹💐 Who doesn't love her? Who doesn't have to stop and listen when she sings. And she can sing anything! She's brilliant, talented and gifted.
I grew up hearing Chaka's infectious voice as a child and instantly became a lover of her gift. I saw her in concert in Texas shortly after Prince pass away. The highlight for me was us making eye contact throughout the concert as I danced the night away. This was truly one of the greatest highlights of my life. 💜💜💜
Man..Chaka can sing! I went to her concert in Indiana, plus she gave a free concert in Chicago to thank her fans..it was awesome! She is blessed..she still hits high notes and she won't disappoint! Love you Chaka! ❤❤❤
Chaka Khan is my favorite singer of all time. Her voice is amazing and can never be duplicated. I’m only 39 and she is the 1st singer I listen to when I get in my car and go somewhere. I’m proud to say I am a fan. Chaka Khan is definitely the mother of all voices. I didn’t grow up listening to her but I became a fan of her when I became an adult. There will never be another Chaka Khan 💚
Growing up with Chaka Khan, made living as a so-called Black Woman in America easier to to contend with and I appreciate the music she gave us! Her story is our story! Now as an aging senior, I still enjoy some of her songs, but would love to hear her continue to sing Jazz and even higher conscious music! We've always loved you Chaka Khan!
Chaka is one of the most influential artistes of her generation and, arguably, one of the greatest musical performers of all time. I have seen her live on hosts of occasions. One of the most memorable was her appearance at the St Lucia Jazz Festival in 2015. She was clean, so her dancing was co-ordinated and almost regal in execution. Best of all was her voice, she raged up and down the scales like an infant on a playground slide, but what she made to look effortless was actually a demonstration of divine talent and painstaking work and rehearsal. Chaka, we salute you. Our Forever Queen of Funk👑
Chaka Khan is hardly underrated! She has won numerous of prestigious awards and have been acknowledged repeatedly for her music with Rufus and as a solo artist all throughout her career. Chaka Khan is a legend in the music industry. She is one of the few old school female artists, who has real talent and knows how to sing. She doesn't lip sync and use gimmicks at her live concerts (like most of these young untalented singers of today who can't sing). Chaka Khan uses her gift that God has given her, which is her voice, the same as the late: Whitney Houston when she was alive, and her singing voice was in top form.
Thank you for sharing the history of Chaka Khanlife story. It touched my soul sincerely. I was born in 1968 but I can relate. I am a trauma victim survivor today. Some of our dark experiences are similar we both are Aries and our birthdays are a few days apart. I have always loved her and felt a connection through her soulful voice and music. Now I can connect with her closer relating to her painful hidden story and her victorious triumphs. She is an AMAZING artist and will always be an inspiration and motivation. True Fan For Life! Sending much-continued strength, peace, love, and blessings to you CHAKA...It's not how we fall in life it's how we choose to get up" Our past didn't dictate who we were born to be! Love You Always... Tasheba🥰😘🤗🌷🌹💐🌹🌺🌷🌹💝❤🔥💌💯
I've always looked at Chaka Khan as the Queen of Soul and Pop music....I grew up on her music...My brother was a die hard Chaka Khan fan and he had all of her albums...I will always love U Chaka Khan!!! You're phenomenon and infamous!!! Nobody can sing like U!!! Awesome talent!!! 👑💕🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@shawnjones4527 No... because my mother grew up on Aretha Franklin's music...she was a pioneer in soul music... Aretha Franklin and James Brown are both pioneers... they popularized and help create soul music ✌️ Chaka Khan came on the scene later and she slayed rock and soul music as well as r & b music... they're both Queens and I love their music 👍💕✌️
No One can compare!!! Pure love of music in her voice. I had the pleasure of seeing Ms.Chaka and what an amazing experience live. She did forget a couple of words to a song or two, but who cared. She's Chaka!!! Love you!!!🥰🥰🥰🎶🎵🎼🎤🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Always loved her voice. I was a big fan of Rufus & Chaka Khan. I bought all their LP's. I got to see Chaka in concert once at the Capitol Center in Maryland. Rufus is still on my playlist. Chaka's voice is in a class of it's own, I can't compare it to anyone else's.
She was one of the first singers I remember hearing as a child. As a young Black girl, she showed me how Great, Beautiful and Powerful being a Black woman can be. It's all in MEEEE 🎶 🎶 ❤❤ What a wonderful message 😘
Chaka is a a phenomenal talent from day one. She is also a prolific songwriter, a wonderful artist and proficient drummer. She is an artist extraordinair. She also has a wonderful stage persona and has gorgeous physical beauty. She was and still is the complete package!! Loved Chaka from and Rufus from day one circa 1973!
I went to see her at Prospect Park in Brooklyn about 12 years ago. I was sooo happy! Her voice is distinctive and brought back may happy memories for me!
I mean first album. Im 63 years old and was around 17 years old. Our music was so much fun lift your spirits when you feel down. Her and the r and b group the emotions. It looks like they are trying to wipe out rb music. But it will live on forever. Thanks for the internet.
"Tell me something good" was ONE of my favorite Chaka song. She did an interview once, making a statement about her dress. The interviewer was speaking about a scar on her tummy. Chaka explained, that scar brought life. I've never forgotten that. So, she wasn't just an entertainer.... She was a force of truth admist lies. She wasn't worried about what folks thought about her. Her journey required her to be thick skinned and have a quick wit and she did. I think Chaka made some people uncomfortable with the way she dressed back then. To me, it was a KICK ASS UNIFORM. I've seen folks attending proms, church and even the "red carpet" in a lot less. Cousin, " you've lit a fire that can't be extinguished, only fed" as my Uncle used to say. Much Respect 🙇♀️
Great assessment of Chaka Khan! A strong woman in a man's world! Over the past 40 years, I'd seen Chaka more than a dozen times. Her live singing voice was otherworldly, most of the time. The late 80's was probably her worst period vocally, but she rebounded in the early 90s with renewed energy and sublime voice. My favorite songs are too many to mention, but I will say her recordings with Arif Mardin were the most creative and artful. They were magic together. Then, her earlier recordings with Rufus were equally fascinating. Overall, Chaka's had one of the most exciting singing careers of any singer I'd been exposed to. She's always been a force to be reckoned with.
I am a devout fan of Chaka Khan through thick and thin I was 12 years old when I went to a Rufus and Chaka Khan concert in Rochester N.Y. I just saw her at the jazz fest in Florida I knew every song I danced so hard , me and my daughters. It was my daughter's first Chaka concert. I love her and appreciate her art, every time she came to Rochester N.Y. I went to see her. When I heard that she was in the line up for the jazz fest I made sure to be there. Thank you Chaka for your awesome music Love you
Can't Nobody do it better than Chaka. Not even close. One of a kind Living Legend. A stunning beauty, strong, sensitive, vibrant, and wise woman. I've listened to her over many years in interviews, and her music is soul stirring. I am and will forever be a Chaka Khan fan.
My favorites are Tell Me Something Good (from my childhood), Ain’t Nobody (pure magic!), Sweet Thing (mesmerizing!) and I’m every Woman. I had no idea of her life. What an inspiration! I hope she sees my comment…I would be honored to know she read it! I try to play drums to her music, honored to live in the same time as her!
I had the pleasure of seeing Chaka in concert in Houston many times, and each one was exclusively special. She makes you feel that you're the only she's singing to. And her backup singers---OMMMMGGG they are the truth. The power they exude with her snatches your soul out of your body. Love you Chaka...
Chaka , just know nothing will ever take you away from people who really love you and don’t want anything from you. Everyone on this planet has dirt on them, it’s called life. The gift of your voice will remain with us always ❤❤❤❤ thank you sooooooo much. Your songs have taken some of us through some rough and happy times. Much love baby girl ❤
Chaka is the Queen of music and my heart! Ain't Nobody better or even close to her as the reigning Queen of Song. I'm a girl who was given courage to sing after falling in love with Chaka's voice. The first record I ever bought was Sweet Thing and I was somewhere around thirteen years old. I am now 61 and STILL Ain't Nobody better!! No need to tell me to love you cuz you never forget your FIRST love!!
Chaka is and will always be an icon. Saw her perform a few times when she returned home to Chicago. The best performance I saw of her was at Chicago's Navy Pier.
I grew up listening to Chaka Khan I have sooo many favorite songs of her and Rusfus , but One favorite song is I feel for you. Girl keep it up you're a star
I was acquainted with Yvette at Calumet High School and ran into her occasionally in our Chicago ‘hood.. We were both in the Calumet Afro American Student Association. Yvette and her sister, Yvonne wore Afros and were considered militant by some. I was proud and happy when I heard of Yvette’s aka Chaka Khan’s success! I became a big fan!
I was born and raised in Chicago. A couple of things the narrator of this story concerned me. Hyde Park was an island on the south side of Chicago, and they showed a picture of row houses (projects). I am 5 years younger than Chaka. In my lifetime, Hyde Park has always had middle - to high income residents. Also, by knowing her personally for a very short period before high school, I know some other things that were not mentioned, but because I would not want these things exposed about me, I am going to grant her the same respect.
@@sheryljenkins1925 , Yvette lived in Auburn Gresham and went to Calumet High School. She transferred to Kenwood High school in Hyde Park as a teenager. I remember running into her in the Calumet High School hallway and her talking to me about a fight or conflict that she’d recently had with a girl at Kenwood. Yvette was back at Calumet for a visit. Hyde Park has never been a low income or even a working class neighborhood. I agree with you. Hyde Park, was historically like an island surrounded by hard core ‘hoods.
I love too many songs from Chaka with and without Rufus, to name a favorite. Her music brings back so many memories and events in my life. She's almost like family. Many thanks to Chaka, will always love her!!! *Angle, *Tell Me Something Good, *My Funny Valentine, etc....
❤ God Bless Chaka Khan, a Inspirational woman whom made a positive impact during my 80's teen years contributions of Great, Uplifting Memoirs, feeling alive with Meaningful worded hit singles
Chaka has always been my favorite female vocalist and still is. With so many songs, it's hard to say which is my favorite. But I have a strong affinity to "Stay" when she was with Rufus. "Any Love" on Masterjam was also really good. Of her solo songs, I love " Whatcha gonna do for me." She's a pleasure to listen to 🎉
I saw her a few years back in Dallas and I am a witness. Chaka IS a GODDESS. She educated her audience about the balancing of the divine masculine and divine feminine in each body.❤ I had the coolest synchronicity as I was walking around a hospital where my Mom was a patient at the time, and I was humming Sweet Thing with a big smile on my face because I had a ticket to see Chaka that evening. All of the sudden, a beautiful woman passing me in the hallway stopped, held both my hands, and began to sing the song-she had a voice like an angel. She encouraged me to sing along with her. It was such a beautiful moment. She was so full of light and love. After we sang a few bars I learned she was a former backup singer for Chaka. She told me how amazing and gracious Chaka is., and that she lets her backup singer have the spotlight at concerts. 😮❤ It was so beautiful running into someone who knew Chaka on the same day I was to attend my first concert of hers. Chaka Khan is the sexiest woman on the planet, imho. I love you Chaka-thank you for the music👸🏾💫🌞🌖💥🥰🥰Long Live Your Funkness on High.🥰🥰🌸🌺🌸🌼🌺🌸🌼
Chaka--A true Queen---She was a big part of bringing breakdancing & rap into mainstream in the 80's and have the looks, charisma, and that voice---total package artist and beautiful soul
The most beautiful souls are troubled and plagued by darkness to start until we remember how brightly our light can actually shine. I grew up listening to Chaka Khan and will never forget how she shaped me, taught me self love and empowerment through her music. I love that she is a free spirit, i resonated with that very well. I honor the greatness in you my Queen, thank you..
Chaka Khan is one of my top favorite artists. Her character on stage represents my spirit. The hair, the dress, the dance moves, sexiness and style…YES!!. I just love her! Thanks for your contribution to the music world❤❤❤. I can vibe to her music anytime.
@@Dreamsareareality hey real fast I can still remember the the album cover with her lips really big on it. I don’t know what the name was but I’d just sit and look at it. Love Chaka too!
I love the way you came out of the addiction. I too have through that storm. I love all your music. My favorite is do you love what you feel and tell me something good.
I worked with her father in law Ali Khan in Chicago at Saks Fifth Ave. He lived in McClurg Court. I remember he had this beautiful bust of John F Kennedy in his house. He was a great tennis player. He taught me how to Golf. I have great memories oh him.
I love Chaka Khan! 🤩❤️💯 I admire her voice and her looks from when I was a child of 9 or something. I 'm 46 now and Chaka Khan is still one of my favorites. Never knew she had an addiction problem! Wow! I am so glad she is still with us, the same goes for Alexander O'Neal. I don't judge, people go through a lot of suffering and sadness in life and even if some people are superstars and world famous, they still remain fragile somehow, like all of us. Never saw a live concert of hers unfortunately, but the music is in my heart always. "I know you, I live you" is one of my favorites, also "whatcha gonna do for me", "through the fire"and the all time classic "I feel for you", that outfit in the video was an example to me from early age and if anybody would be an icon to me, it surely is Miss Chaka Khan. Always loved the name too, it is marked in my soul forever.❤️🍀💐 God bless you and keep you dear lady. 🙏❤️🍀 Precious love and respect to you , from Belgium 🇧🇪 ✌️ 💖
I LOVE THIS WOMAN THE FIRST TIME I HEARD HER VOICE AND SAW PRESENCE. Their never be another singer like QUEEN CHAKA KHAN! every song she touch she makes it her own. She can soothe the soul in one minute and make you dance in the next, if your 1 to 100. Like she said I am Every Woman!❤😎
Chaka Khan, has always been one of my favorite female vocalists. She has a range that surpasses anyone who calls themselves singers. She has always stayed true to herself. We ❤ you Ms. Chaka Khan .
I've been a Chaka Khan fan since 1975... Love her style and music grace.. Favorite songs: Your Smile, Density, Stranger To Love, Ever Lasting Love.. Thank you for all the music memories and keeping me focus while in high school... And thank you for signing my Street Player album while you were in Philadelphia in 1991... I was a doorman... All the best to you and your family😮😮❤🎤📀
Just like every teenager that grew up in the 70’s I too was mesmerized by MS CHACKA, she was my everything. I even merry a woman that look just like her. Much love MS CHACKA
I discovered Chaka in 1984 the album was “I feel for you”. I was all of a precious 12 years old🤣. I’m Gen X so that was during the break dance era. Then I started looking at all my moms albums she had of her and Rufus. Been in lover with music every since. What a voice, what talent and what a Queen she is 👑
There's no one like Chaka! I've seen her in concert twice and would love to see her again. My favorite song is Papillion. I wish Chaka the best always.
I met and saw her first husband, Hassan Khan, regularly at the salon I worked at for years! Very nice guy. I was first made aware of Rufus and Chaka Khan's music via my older sister and brother. She and my sister are a year apart! 😊
I recently heard Bobby Watson of Rufus describe hearing Chaka for the first time in a rehearsal back in the early 70s. I first heard her live in a Stadium in the 80s, and couldn't believe the utmost exactness of her voice and sound. It was effortless! I was absolutely stunned! Mind you, I was mesmerized from the very beginning, hearing her on record, but IN PERSON?! She could never do any wrong in my eyes, as my love for her is unconditional.
Chaka, as a teenager you were possibly one of my greater influences! When Tell Me Something Good hit I was 14 and Chyle by the time I went away to college in 1977 that sultry "Ask Rufus" was my liberation anthem. I finally got to see you in concert in Atlanta, Georgia at the Omni not really sure what year it was, circa 1982. During the pandemic I discovered a hidden treasure a spiritual "Roll me through the Rushes", guuurrrll U sang da Holiness outta that song!!! Be strong our Queen of Funk and funk is my favorites secular genre'. Blessings to your family and your daughter is very talented, she did a great job in that Mikki Howard biop! Enjoy those precious grands and continued prayers for your son! Please do a Christmas Album!
My favorite song is "DO YOU LOVE WHAT YOU FEEL" When I was a young girl, I had the big hair bush and the moves dancing to this song. People would say, "Look at the look a like ," but unfortunately, unfortunately, I did not have that beautiful voice l would lip sing ❤
Your music is amazing and so is your voice. You have beauty and an anointed voice. I would love to hear you write and sing gospel songs. You can touch many fans by writing, producing, and singing gospel songs to reach the audience. I believe this is your calling.❤🙏🏾
Love her! Saw you at Chicagofest in the rain. Had many 12" of your hits. Played them as a Dj. Belted them out with you in my car. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. Will be in my heart forever. Must say "I feel for You" was played the most, and my friends and I had a dance routine with that heartfelt beat that drove us crazy everytime frim the furst drum beat. Will never forget you. Fellow Chicagoan!
My first concert ever was at The Melody Tent in Hyannis (1983)to see Chaka Khan and I was never the same. I play and sing her songs, I still wear my hair like her! She will always be my number 1 of all time. Thank you Chaka for giving me the funk, you are always amazing!!!
chaka is one of a kind. her voice... no words to describe. in the remake quincy made of "stuff like that", brandi sang one of the verses (valerie simpson's in the original) and chaka sang another. the difference in depth, power and clarity could not be more noticeable. no offense, brandi. some of my favorites: tell me something good, once you get started, you got the love, sweet thing, ain't nobody, ...
I grew up with many genres of music being played in my household but didn't know who Chaka was until her hit , I fee for you . Although I was into the hard rock scene at the time , it was undeniable her voice had so much power and charisma . When there's talk of the greatest singers of the era her name should be in that conversation . One of the best ever .
"Papillon"was one of the best songs ever recorded. I'm sure this song has made many cry. The start of this song is so beautiful and wonderful....... A faded photograph i mailed to you, with feelings i don't want to face, and a love song of surrender in blue,i remember when, you took my breath away. We just don't hear lyrics like that anymore.
I love you Chaka,i too am from Chicago, you and i both know that city has produced a lot of talent. Growing up,i always imagined you singing "papillon"to me.
her version of "Papillon" is my least favorite. The song, written by Gregg Diamond, is in my opinion best sung by Luther Vandross as "Hot Butterfly" on Gregg Diamond's album of the same name.
It’s so great to hear things that I’ve never heard about my cousin. I’ve only met her once when she attended my aunts funeral in Ohio and I never got a chance to meet her only see her. I hope one day I can really meet her and talk to her and tell her how much of a great soul she is her father is my uncle, which is my father’s brother. I would hope one day to be able to sit down and discuss life with her and tell her how much I have enjoyed her music and the connection I’ve had with her, not even knowing she was my family member may God bless you chaka, and I hope one day we actually can meet and talk
I've always been a fan since the 1980's. she truly is a legend and has an unmatched voice. It seems as if the crushing in our lives brings out our greatness. Thank God she was able to overcome. Love you Chaka! Continued Blessings
For so many years, I have loved Shaka her music. Her voice, her beauty are nothing short of amazing. after everything you said here about her private life. I am glad that God has blessed her to still be with us. May he continue to bless her. Thank you for posting.
Chaka is a true artist! She has a unique sound and does not try to sounds like anyone else. If anything, others may try to sound like her over the years. But there only one Chaka Khan and she’s been my favorite for years ❤
Love you Chaka Khan, and my favorite songs are Sweet Thing, and Everlasting Love. Thank you for making beautiful music that will last in my heart Forever 🎤🎤🥰🥰
My bf and I saw her in Vegas in an outdoor show in 2022... we LOVED every secondcof it!! We had 3rd row center seats... its was sooooo hot... but Chaka made it amazing and fun.. singing and dancing, we didn't notice the heat.. I like to go back and look at the pictures of the night... We also saw her open for Prince at the Forum in Inglewood, CA for our bdays.. I was super excited and beyond happy to see Chaka and Prince together... One of the best birthdays I had
Chaka is a true lady. When I was growing up, a lady is always lady no matter her faults because she'll get together eventually. Chaka deserves that respect because all I've looked at her is a lady. No matter her past, she still came out a lady. Love ya Chaka🥰.
Chaka you are a wonderful woman of the Most High God. You have blessed the world 🌎 with beautiful talent. I hope in this season in your life, you are being a blessing to yourself now. Take care of yourself Queen 👑
Love Chaka❤ & pray for her all the time. I grew up with a life size poster of her on my bedroom wall from age 7 through college. Some Saturdays I'd spend the whole day listening to her. "Ain't nobody" better! Some other legends are just as good: Aretha, Gladys, Nancy, Mavis, Tina (Marie & Turner), Whiney & a few other rare talents. But, not one of them is a BETTER vocalists than Chaka. "Ain't nobody" better❣️
My first concert, at White Stadium in Franklin Park, Boston, MA 1975. I was 11 years old, my Cousin 3 years older snuck me in through a hole in the fence. This was my first and best concert ever. Chaka has been my favorite artist from that day on. I've never met her, I've met Anita Baker, Patti, and many other Amazing artists but I'll just never forget Chaka! Thank you for giving to us all these years, your artistry and commitment are appreciated and your fans will always hold you up! ❤️
I grew up in Chicago attending Englewood high school graduating in 1972. Chaka is number one in my book. She ain't never needed a microphone with her soaring vocals😊
My girl. One day I was playing some stuff from her that I had never listened to and I realized (aside from a few early Rufus tunes) she does not make ANY bad records. Every song I play (especially from her solo work) is a solid work of art.
She is amazing in concert! Her voice is outstanding! I've been listening to her music since 1974 and continue to listen to her music and still attend her live shows. Love you, Chaka! Congratulations on your Rock and Roll Hall of fame! ❤
I met her in person and sat and had dinner with her for a benefit to help African Communities in remote parts of Africa…it was by invite only I had gotten tickets because I volunteered with the organization…she was very friendly, humble, nice, she smiled alot and kept telling us not to be shy around she’s just like us 😳…she was making sure we all had food and was eating…she had them serve her food LAST…she sat slap dead next to me before though they had put her in the front by herself and she got in the mic and said why y’all put me up here away from everyone I don’t want to eat alone matter of fact I’m sitting at that table w those young ladies( me and my friend) all those Big Wig people were staring at us like we were nobody’s and asked Chaka was she sure…she gave the man who asked a stern excuse me type look and he apologized and came to our table and pulled her chair out …he said is this fine or do you want one of them to move she said why? For what? They were sitting here before me…he looked so stupid and embarrassed and Chaka looked at us a rolled her eyes and laughed 😂😂she said hello and smiled and she asked me did I get the chicken or fish as she was settling in her chair and like eating some of the salad at the same time and looked towards my plate I said chicken she had the chicken to this was before she was vegan and leaned in and whispered to me as she scrunched her face up in disapproval and said Im not eating it it’s dry but the salad is good how about you…I laughed so hard because it was dry…I told her I took only one bite…we laughed..I wanted so bad to tell her how much I love her music but I was shy…she was so pretty and smelled so good…her clothes and jewelry was expensive and nice…her eyes are absolutely beautiful in person…she made small talk about getting out of her heels her feet was hurting and it was hot in there which is was ..she definitely can carry on a convo she had her signature big hair but one of her earrings were bothering her..She took a hand held fan out of her bag and started fanning herself and looked around and told us can’t they turn the air up in here 😂 she was funny 😂 I smiled laughed and listened I was shy but my friend was talking..Chaka had to get up and gave a speech and donated ALOT to the benefit.
I LOVE CHAKA KHAN 1000000000000%!!!!! The ULTIMATE DIVA! My Favorite Black Queen, then Patti. Stay, Through the fire, Aint Nobody, Everlasting love, Angel, and EVERYTHING SHE EVER MADE! Man I love this woman!! MY FAVORITE SINGER OF ALL TIME! Moma snuck me into a concert in Atlanta to see her when I was too young to get in, Thank you Moma! GOD BLESS HER and CHAKA...
I grew up on chaka Khan music she has a lot of beautiful songs, i think my favorite song is I'm every woman as well as black butter fly.i will always love her.❤❤❤
My dear Chaka Khan, at my age of 63 years, I have also discovered, the greater the success, the greater the pain endured to achieve this position. To have an accurate scale, there must be the opposite, this is the only way to measure accurately! Your evolution is an inspiration for many! The spiritual growth of our generation is like no other! The universe is blessed by you eternally! XOXO, love, Richard lll
Chaka Khan is an icon… a beautiful Queen to all women. She gives me hope that I can overcome any obstacles… God bless you.. Thank you for your music 🎧🎧🎼🎤🎤❤️👍🏾
"Sweet Thing," "Tell Me Something Good," Hollywood," and "Stay" just to name a few from a very long list of my favorites. I will always love Chaka Khan's soulful funk and R&B music and vocals. There is no one to compete with Chaka; she stand alone. Thanks to Chaka; the 70's was a wonderful time in my life. Good vibes and good memories. "Ain't Nobody," is right." Much love to you my Sister. ❤
Beautiful presentation. I'm every woman, always loved her. She had struggles and she is still here. Blessing to see her beauty still here. We love you Chaka😊
You are a beautiful woman. much love.
Amen! 🙏
We will also pray for you and your son.
We are sure he'll win the fight one day! Keep believing!
Allow me to pin this for our subscribers, our family to also put your son in prayers.
Blessings to you and your son. And to those suffering from devastating addiction, Blessings and eventual peace.
Chaka does give the difficult family dimensions of life hope though her energy and talent and willingness to overcome ones destructive behaviors in desires to reach there personal dreams
Pray that Chaka is keeping herself sober. Her voice electrifying, you are loved, and you rock!
Prayers to you and your family
There is no singer like Chaka! She's in a category by herself.

Lakeside?! As in "Fantastic Voyage" Lakeside? You guys were/are just incredible! Great work!
Awesome … I jammed off of lakeside. Fantastic Voyage was my one of my favorites🔥
That's funny, because when I saw her at an airport, she had the NASTIEST attitude ever
Chaka can be the Queen of whatever she wsnts.
@@aarondigby5054 says the groupie 🤡😂. And no. I'm not reading replies
Cool 😎
I love Chaka Khan. I'm glad that she's still alive.
I to at 15 years old,
I'm MightyMaxx I remake "Ain't No Body" she's a gift to mother Earth 🌎🌍!
Never been to a concert I would have loved to tho I went to Ashford and Simson, twice with Junior and a Brothers Johnson concert

Who doesn't love her?
Who doesn't have to stop and listen when she sings. And she can sing anything!
She's brilliant, talented and gifted.
“Sweet Thing”, “Everlasting Love”, and “Ain’t Nobody” are my favorites by Chaka. I’ve been a fan since the 70’s⭐️🎤⭐️
In that order ❤
@@lonay4597 I like that too , but let's not forget "Through the fire "

@lonay4597 . you right 😂
I grew up hearing Chaka's infectious voice as a child and instantly became a lover of her gift. I saw her in concert in Texas shortly after Prince pass away. The highlight for me was us making eye contact throughout the concert as I danced the night away. This was truly one of the greatest highlights of my life. 💜💜💜
She made the BEST Prince cover....❤❤❤❤❤
Man..Chaka can sing! I went to her concert in Indiana, plus she gave a free concert in Chicago to thank her fans..it was awesome! She is blessed..she still hits high notes and she won't disappoint! Love you Chaka! ❤❤❤
💯
Chaka Khan is my favorite singer of all time. Her voice is amazing and can never be duplicated. I’m only 39 and she is the 1st singer I listen to when I get in my car and go somewhere. I’m proud to say I am a fan. Chaka Khan is definitely the mother of all voices. I didn’t grow up listening to her but I became a fan of her when I became an adult. There will never be another Chaka Khan 💚
I love me some Chaka Khan..always..In 2023 she's still going strong..I Love you Chaka❤
Chaka Khan the number one female in the world ain't nobody,, but you 🎉🎉❤❤
Growing up with Chaka Khan, made living as a so-called Black Woman in America easier to to contend with and I appreciate the music she gave us! Her story is our story! Now as an aging senior, I still enjoy some of her songs, but would love to hear her continue to sing Jazz and even higher conscious music! We've always loved you Chaka Khan!
She's the very best to ever do it. In the last hundred years, 100 years from now, there can never be another Chaka Khan..Best voice ❤
🎵 Don't let them get the best
Of your heart, leave the rest
Up to Love.....
And you'll be taken care of.....🎵 - One of Chakas BEST lyrical lines!.
Ever!!!

THE VERY BEST!!!
Our Forever Queen of Funk👑
so well said.....
At one point, I went to high school with Chaka Khan. She was always focused on her career.❤
💞🌹💐"WOW"🕊️... ✨🎇
Chaka Khan is the first female artist. I ever bought in my youth. She is very under rated, I still enjoy her music today.
It’s funny I don’t see any comments showing that she is “very under rated.” Who’s rating are you valuing outside of your own and why?
@@slimdude2011 Thank you!!! I can’t figure out why people parrot that underrated term instead of giving the artist the compliment they deserve.
Do you feel like she should’ve had the title of Queen of Soul, instead of Aretha Franklin?
A beatuiful woman I love all your music especially, I am every woman blessings
She was one of the first singers I remember hearing as a child. As a young Black girl, she showed me how Great, Beautiful and Powerful being a Black woman can be. It's all in MEEEE 🎶 🎶 ❤❤ What a wonderful message 😘
💯💯
Chaka is a a phenomenal talent from day one. She is also a prolific songwriter, a wonderful artist and proficient drummer. She is an artist extraordinair. She also has a wonderful stage persona and has gorgeous physical beauty. She was and still is the complete package!! Loved Chaka from and Rufus from day one circa 1973!
Respectfully I think you kind of misunderstood the story.
Sorry, but at time, all I could say was I love her
I went to see her at Prospect Park in Brooklyn about 12 years ago.
I love all of her music. Favorite album is Rufus featuring CK
Oh my goodness… I am so in love with her. Everything about her is so inspiring ❤she’s gorgeous , super talented & I love her free spirited soul
Thank you Chaka for your awesome music Love you
This is my girl!
She has been a inspiration for my life, I'm a practicing bass player and she's a part of American culture. We should acknowledge that in our hearts
Chaka has always been “IT” for me! So funky and soulful! Often imitated but never ever duplicated!
She’s one of the best - Through the fire, ain’t nobody, what cha gonna do for me & her rendition of MJ’s got to be there are my fav’s ..
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SOUL! Every song is my favorite. Her vocals are impeccable and out of this world. Much love My Sister ❤
Her presence was just amazing. The moment she walked on that stage. She would transform it. Beautiful and charismatic. Unforgettable.
She educated her audience about the balancing of the divine masculine and divine feminine in each body.❤
I had the coolest synchronicity as I was walking around a hospital where my Mom was a patient at the time, and I was humming Sweet Thing with a big smile on my face because I had a ticket to see Chaka that evening.

Omg,my high school years were filled by Rufus,Chaka. You are so beautiful and i love your songs!
I discovered Chaka in 1984 the album was “I feel for you”. I was all of a precious 12 years old🤣. I’m Gen X so that was during the break dance era. Then I started looking at all my moms albums she had of her and Rufus. Been in lover with music every since. What a voice, what talent and what a Queen she is 👑
Chaka you showed young women how to be Free with their Beauty and common sense...thank you for leading the way...
There's no one like Chaka! I've
seen her in concert twice and would love to see her again.
My favorite song is "DO YOU LOVE WHAT YOU FEEL"
When I was a young girl, I had the big hair bush and the moves dancing to this song.
What can I say? She is a beautiful woman, with a beautiful soul. Amen 🙏🏾
Unconditional Love is what this fan has for you Ms Chan! Thank you!
chaka is one of a kind. her voice... no words to describe. in the remake quincy made of "stuff like that", brandi sang one of the verses (valerie simpson's in the original) and chaka sang another. the difference in depth, power and clarity could not be more noticeable. no offense, brandi.
some of my favorites: tell me something good, once you get started, you got the love, sweet thing, ain't nobody, ...
I love chaka!
" Sweet thang" & " Angel " are 2 of my favorite's!!
Growing up,i always
imagined you singing "papillon"to me.
@arddiesmith9011 Agreed. 👍🏾❤😊💚
her version of "Papillon" is my least favorite. The song, written by Gregg Diamond, is in my opinion best sung by Luther Vandross as "Hot Butterfly" on Gregg Diamond's album of the same name.
My favorite❤
But there only one Chaka Khan and she’s been my favorite for years ❤
Chaka Kahn ! I played her music in the 70’s . What a Voice 🤩❤️❤️
I met Chaka with her grand daughter at Agápe Spiritual Center in Los Angeles. We took photos together. Very gracious!

Ms Chakra Khan when you blow out I'm Every Woman!! We wemen took on a new STAND ! Thank you for the song. We will always Love Ms Chaka Khan 💕💪🥰🙏
Don't forget Phyllis Hyman, who vocally is right there with Chaka
“ Sweet Thing “ , her voice singing this song just blew you away. Chaka Khan and Aretha Franklin are the Queen of Soul 🙏🙏💖
