California Ramblers, Lanin, Selvin, oh, so many good bands and sounds. So glad you enjoyed this Charleston. I have many versions on my channel too. Thank you so much, and thanks for watching.
You know, I believe that's exactly what it's saying. Its also saying dance, drink and enjoy life. Maybe eat something too. LOL! Thanks for watching and happy new year!
Stupendous version by Lanin! I really love The Savoy Orpheans' and Paul Whiteman's versions too. This one though is light and while still being peppy, it's easy to listen yet makes you want to, well, Charleston! All while telling your cares to take the air!😁 My thanks for posting this and a very happy new year to you! Let's party like it's 1924!😉
The Varsity Eight, a subset of the California Ramblers always has superb versions on Cameo. I have quite a few Charleston recordings on the channel depending on your dancing abilities, you can go all night. My dancing days are done but I can crank out the tunes for hours. Thanks for watching!
@@charlescalvert8647 Well, I'll be 22 this February 1st and I LOVE to dance! I have a record collection of over 500 and a half, so that tells ya that I could listen for hours too!😉 I had just discovered your channel and so far, it's great! You're welcome! Thank YOU.😁
@OLD_SOUL1900 Wonderful! Keep collecting, save and preserve as much as possible. We are only temporary custodians of these records, saving them for the future is important. I'm still adding on to a 30,000+ record collection, I'm out of room for machines though. Maybe! Lol Hope you enjoy the channel.
@@charlescalvert8647 Oh that is SO true and ever so important! That has definitely been a goal of mine. I have majority 33rpm but my shellacs are growing I think I have about 50 or so...I want more, more of my favourites. Boy I need to count them again.😆 30,000+😮 my, my! That's awesome! One day, I'm going to get a gramophone. No electricity from the walls but electricity from those HOT records! LOL indeed! And thanks, I have!😉
@VWNate1 I've been collecting for quite some time and have accumulated a lot of nice recordings. Typically, that awful scratchy, wobbly hiss is attributed to playing it with unrestored period equipment using old needles or using modern equipment that's incorrect and needs electronic manipulation. These early shellacs do wear with each play and many were abused for decades. Whereas vinyl can last nearly forever if not damaged. Glad you enjoyed the music and thanks for watching.
@@charlescalvert8647 Well ; i remember using new needles and cleaning the recods carefully back in the 1960's, unless it was unplayed they all had hiss . You might consider making up CD's, I'd certainly buy them . -Nate
§ For your Music sending our minds on other happy times as they are rising us to such a dreamed delight, I can only give a "Like". >>> And for your so beautiful material, --this pure marvel of woody phonograph--, I can only desire to subscribe. How wonderful! Thank you for the kind and thoughtful words. I love the music and machines, I enjoy sharing them with anyone who may be interested. Thank you so much!
This version sounds different from the arrangements I usually hear. The syncopation is different but very enjoyable. I wonder which is the original recording of Charleston. This song epitomizes the spirit of the 20s, which mean a lot to me as it is my mother's coming of age era.
Well, as the Varsity Eight, University Six the California Ramblers did a bit more dynamic arrangements, all wonderful. But definitely less than traditional. I have quite a few versions of Charleston, some more traditional on my channel. But every one is just as enjoyable as the next. Thanks for watching, so glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you so much! This is actually a wind up, all my phonographs are mechanical. Some play acoustic records some play electrical records, but all the machines are wind ups. Early electric models seem to be particularly hard to find everywhere. Thanks for watching. th-cam.com/video/jvp_I5sHeEU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=r7KCab4dbMm5R5b9

Another great upload. Superb song and band. Sounds perfect. Red Nichols with a nice, long run on this one.
Not Perfect, Cameo! LOL!
Happy New Years Eve!

Beautiful music!!!
So glad you enjoyed the music. Stop by anytime for some tunes.

Completely wonderful! It's as though your player is wishing us both a Happy 99th and Happy New Year at the same time!!

Super disque et vos phonographe sont toujours aussi élégant 👍
Nothing like an acoustic dime store label of Charleston by the California Ramblers, just makes everything better.
Thanks for watching!
I remember The California Ramblers in te 1960's ~ I still ove them and wonder where you found this pristine not scratchy pressing . -Nate

I uploaded The Original Charleston by the Knickerbockers last March, that may be my favorite version.
That's a Ben Selvin band.
Tolles Grammophon! Ist das schon ein Elektrisches? So eins suche ich immer noch. Federaufzug Grammophone habe ich schon genug.😆
