Hi Jay, I am really in love with your joyful way to teach Thai. I am born and raised in Germany and totally forget how to speak our language. Your lessons give me the opportunity to freshen up on the Thai language. Keep the good work up :)

No one talks like this and it is literally a foreign language in 🇹🇭 Thailand. I don’t regret learning Thai in the perfect form like this but I remember spending a good 6 months learning this style of Thai and when i next arrived in Thailand i could not understand a word anybody was saying. 10 years later i realise you should learn this and also how every word is shortened. Or R’s turned to L’s

For your statement "10 years later i realise you should learn this", which THIS u're referring to? The video or the part when you arrived Thailand and speak to the natives?

Zaif Muhammad My point is that i began to learnThai Language from a great book Called ‘ Teach yourself Thai’ by David Smyth. Everything is taught as it would be in a Thai school and also learn to read the languages’ alphabet. I did this for six months and revisited Thailand. After hanging the usual tourist places i realised that no one speaks Thai in its pure form. Alot of people speak North East dialect and many words are different. The main problem is R’s are changed to L’s and then subjugation is taken to the next level by leaving the L out completely. Eg Or Not ? หรือเปล่า Rur Blao get pronounced Le bao eg. Ow le Bao ? Want or not ? So if you learn the school taught one it’s basically useless for understanding the vendor after ordering noodles. Although i have met many western people who can speak Thai better than me by remembering what they have heard over the years. One man i met produced a pocket book with years of phrases he’d recorded in phonetic English. When i said i had just learned to read the language he did feel silly really.

@@Steveuploads oh damn thats revealing. Hahaha so i guess can i just hops to conversation videos after learning the basics? As in are they (native who are teaching) going to give lessons on how real Thai people talk or they are still going to be by the book?
P/s: i knew on the R change to L but rebplao changed to lebao??? Thats too much of the least ive known hahahaha. Thanks anyway sir.

This is called a video. If you watch a video, you can press the pause button. The video will then be stopped, so you can read the text. Just a little hint for you.

Probably you've found it yourself by now, the Browser Plugin "Video Speed Controller" lets you change the video speed in small steps (configurable).
At 10-20% slower it still sounds good, and is much more comprehensible.
