As a Thai. Many words have different meaning. Don’t stick with what you’ve seen from here. Other than that, it’s a good video!

Perhaps some words are outdated and no longer be in daily use.

    • @perrybakr4252

I paid for this. Find it hard to follow, lessons are not structured as I would like. And as you say, many words can be used in many ways (not just outdated) and therefore often having to stop the lessons midway to try and understand useage, which in turn, leads me astray and away from the lesson. I still use Thaipod, but have found a teacher here in Thailand who structures here lessons, and when we get to words, explains their various useage and meanings, which is awesome, because often how they are used is not how they are taught in text books or through dictionaries, especially modern useages.

N.B. As the Thai speaker pronounces the word for "white" with low tone it means "news". The words for "white", "rice" and "news" are all pronounced the same. Only the tone is different. Check with "Google translate".

I grew up here in Thailand, speaks fluent Thai and trust me it's not as difficult as a lot of people think it is. But you need great focus and consistency. I can also say that I recommend this channel a lot and particularly this lady on the vid...she's a very good Thai language teacher 👍👍🙏

      In thai have 44 alphabets
32 vowels some thai alphabet have the same sounding but you have to control volume pronunciation alphabets and the vowels like
พ (phor) ผ (phor but higher)
      ไม่ (mai) = No
      ไหม้ (mai) = Burn
ไหม (mai) = Silk or is it (auxiliary verb)

It’s simple. There are no such word aquarium in Thai so we combine the words we have togather. First four syllables (Phi phi tha phan) means “Museum”. The fifth syllable (sat) means “animal”. And the last syllable means “water” or “aqua”. So after we put them together it will become “Phi phi tha phan sat nam” which means “The museum of aquatic animal” or “aquarium”. Simple right? :)

Sorry but I think it's hopless learning Thai this way. 'Orange' ' United Arab Emirates' ' Archipelago' How were these words selected? It seems completly random.
I think the only way that makes sense is trying to remember short but complete whole sentences, not 1600 random words and then trying to make a sentence based on those words...not going to work. If keywords only are provided atleast a theme should be made with a cluster of words for that setting e.g In the Restaurant, In an Office, At the Airport. Sorry to be a bit critical krub.

This video is such a time waste, it doesn't say anything necessary like the months or the days in a row.
But it says the name of about 60 countries in a row with the odd word in between, the countries are the same as in Eglish although they insist on saying them with the silly pronunciation.
    Super annoying and time consuming.
