I hope this game does well, Absolver is so good. Sloclap should consider the Avatar The Last Airbender Series. Adapting that into a game with their style would be one of the best melee games out there. All Bending Styles based off some form of chinese martial arts i.e Kung Fu. It would be wonderful to see.

I would love it if someday there is an annoucement about a possible multiplayer, i can't imagine the pleasure it'd be to play a game were you can choose between a good amount of real kung-fu style, it'd be awesome. It'd need some kind of big investment just for finding these skilled man or woman out there but i think it's still doable, and did with respect like you've done for the actual game, there'll surely be interested practicians, and more so if we talk about gamers.

I love the level designs and everything this game is. I love the side fight scenes. What a fantastic idea! I recently picked this up on sale from Epic Game store and only regret is not having bought the game sooner. Wish I could have a character appearances customization option. Maybe this is something that can be added in the future. Also, wish there was an option to turn on/off mature content i.e., more blood and violent finishing moves (I often wish I could smash the bosses' face, break their bones or stab the shit out of them after finally being able to beat them from several fails and restarts). I love the current weapon play and looking forward to seeing more weapons in the future. I'm definitely looking forward to more additions to this game DLC, expansions, etc. I will get them all. Please keep them coming. I'm excited for the update 4 arena! You got a permanent fan!

But wanted to enjoy a new take since I've played the Path of Neo, Jet Li's Rise to Honor, Sleeping Dogs or any kind of 2 player fighting game. Just always enjoyed the improvement of these games from sports to combat with the technology upgrades since games were 1st introduced into ppl's homes vs the old school n present day arcades. Anyone remember Mattel's hand held football or Space Invaders, electronic bowling, Speak n Spell, Pong, Tank, the list is endless when any of us reminisce like that Mary J Blige track from her 1st album. This game is gonna have some Donnie Yen impact👍....🤨opinions?

Bruce Lee's dead. There was a game, though, called The Movies by Lionhead Studios from 2005 that appeared to use a kind of motion capture of Bruce Lee that was copied from his movies for constructing in-game fight scenes.
"Sifu" devs, sincere, from all heart and soul, thanks a lot, for this project. Beat'Em Ups is my most favorite genre ever, so sad, that not popular today, almost no releases of this games, nowadays. I am waiting for Sifu with impatience, hope that you will make a 2 player and more number of players same-screen Co-op mode of walkthrough there, long, various spectacular combos, specials, finishers and a lot of weapons.

I really thought there was no mocap involved considering how explosives the movements were, that's impressive. I have a question, will the game be stricly about fighting, gameplay wise ? Or is there some platforming, or customization, anything else impactful that does not involve combat

I really LOVE the style because it reminds me other martial arts specifically Taekwondo. It's been so long since i heard someone using the word Sifu. I heard it only when i was a child because of Taekwondo but still i love the word Sifu although it's Old Fashion. Sifu = Cantonese Shi Fu = Mandarin Just want you all to know~
I mean, statistically, it has to be better than Absolver, because Absolver was a literal trash fire. So you guys have that going for you. Which is nice.
Absolver had a lot of good ideas going into it, but there were a bunch of mistakes and a bunch of bad decisions made along the way. It peaked in overall quality before the Downfall release, which came out as a buggy mess because they didn't test it properly. They made some improvements to some aspects of the game with Downfall, and they *tried* to clean up the problems the update introduced, but they couldn't afford to get it right without compromising their ability to deliver the next game (which wasn't announced yet at the time but has turned out to be this one). They've avoided making promises and specifically said they have "no plans" to go back to Absolver, but also that they "would like to" if they could. I'm hoping that with how amazing Sifu is (because it really is), the game will succeed far enough beyond expectations that they can actually invest in going back to clean up what was left behind for their previous game, *AND* move on afterward to do a sequel/successor title following on from some of the things Absolver did really well.
Did this dude really take a shot at Jet Li? The man studied 4 different types of martial arts and is so fast directors had to slow him down during filming to pick up his movements. Dude better settle down a little bit.
He's not "taking a shot" at anyone - he's pointing out something Jet LI has mentioned in interviews in the past. The combat you see in movies is stylised and adapted for visual impact over realism. A lot of moves are explicitly bad ideas to do in a real fight and it only works *because* of the plot armour characters get in a movie fight. Jet Li knows how to move to sell a cool scene in a movie while *also* knowing how to move in a tournament setting *and* how to handle himself if you put him into a real life fight. Each of those things is going to be very different from the others, and that's the point being made. Sifu is trying to take advantage of the nature of games to let it feel more "grounded" and real than movies usually do.
you need to fix widescreen game is unplayable just staring at players back on 32:9 aspect ratio complete waste of 40 bucks if you have widescreen. will take down comment when they fix it....
Next time get someone who actually practices this art. You probably won't be able to though because it's a forbidden style and rarely taught. All you'll see is offshoots but not the roots .
