Although I've been training BJJ now for several years, I started my MA journey years ago in NYC's Chinatown, first studying Fu Jow Pai (Tiger Claw) with Master Wai Hong, then Jow Ga Kung Fu with Sifu Scott Wong. To this day, they'll always be a soft spot in my heart for traditional Chinese Arts. Thanks for this great representation of true Kung-Fu

I was looking into training that style lama pai but there was some weird drama among Chan tai San students. He did not leave anyone in charge of the system so you did not know who was actually proficient enough to teach it. There was one guy on Long Island who said Chan tai San was his teacher but his teacher was actually the student of Chan.

@@user-yj5du8dz8g My question was easy and it deserves a straight answer. Either one system trains for professional fighters, or it doesn't.
Having said that, "protecting ourselves" also means being able to fight professionals on the street if we have to or simply aggressive and experienced strretfighters.

If you do the CLC lineage or the Omei Bak Mei system I agree it's COMPLETELY different and I have no idea where the drastic changes took place and it became essentially two different systems. Even the Omei Bak Mei system has a lot of similarities to the CLC system. The Foshan Bak Mei system seems more like a northern variant to me with power looking like it's mostly explosive arm movements and using the body to reposition, where the Omei and CLC systems would be getting power from the stance and driving the stance through the opponent explosively using the arms and legs as simply the connecting points from the exponents structure to the opponents.
Technically I guess it's not right to say it's not Bak Mei? But I have no idea the relation between the systems. As I said, completely different looking to a point where there's nearly no similarities between the two besides the name. The power generation is even different which to me is the signature of the Bak Mei system.
Don't know if they follow the float sink spit swallow concepts either. It looks more like explode with arm, reposition with body, and block directly.

To talk about unconditional love implies non judgment
Why then spend time criticizing what you dislike or what doesn’t correspond your version of your truth?
You talk about inauthenticity but without backing that up, it seems strange that you spend that much energy and comments on something you dislike

@@LWSPAKMEI Unconditional love is not to appease others. One can comprehend and practice unconditional love and still judge. Fact, rationale and composure are essential for assessment of self, others and environs. I was once a Taoist priest and I have found when one leaves the temple and commingles with the masses, one begins to see the world very differently and judgment comes from judging self, so as you can see, I judged your offer because I judged self. I trip on my thoughts at times. Compassion is truth and truth may not always be accepted by the insensible. (Denial stagnates)... I have first hand experience with Pak Mai from it's origination and what you have displayed is not the fundament, it's essence (fact),,, but my ridicule has no value and by offending you, I have offended self. I will ruminate on this and refine my thoughts. Thank you for replying and I had not replied because youtube had not notified me that you had responded. Many times I have to go back to history to see if anyone has responded, I am subject to shadow banning.
Please allow me to step in puddles when I shade my eyes, for the lesson must be learned by self discipline.

If you look at the forms the ancient techniques are there. The Tiger, Buddha palm, Phoenix fist. But yes Pak Mai in its pure original form was an internal art. Internal movements being more circular and more about the expression of energy and internal form. In the old old days there were no forms, no real formal technique it was more bout movement. The masters spent long hours in mediation and zhan Zhuang very high energy. Then would focus on flowing that energy in various direction often in accordance with the five elements. Though harder to develop, more powerful for one that does.
