Sue has raised the bar for 1A. I like the other guys, too, but she has added a functional description, complete with clips showing the vehicle in motion, that add understanding to how these components work together. Diagnosis will always be the challenge for the backyard mechanic, and functional understanding makes it that much easier. There's room for more suspension videos. Perhaps a video showing the difference between the McPherson suspension vs others, and why you should test some while loaded, and some while unloaded.
Thanks! I learned a lot from this video. (Thanks for mentioning the safety aspects of using those spring compressors.) One thing about the replacement "All in one" strut assemblies... They often have different spring rates. You can usually see this in the number of coils. While very convenient, I chose to keep the original springs and just replace the strut. In other words, be careful with the manufacturer. I've seen others use these "quick struts" only to have their cars ride-height changed and alignments way off. Keep that in mind.
Hi sue, thank you for your video's they have helped me in so many ways..I got a question.i have a kia sportage 2013 .1.6 petrol... My all my lights work..but my headlights don't I have changed all bulbs and fuses still nothing..even main dealers can't figure out ..can you advise me please.thank you....
Great work thanks, I have a toyota camry 2019 with a vibration while driving I all speeds and I changed the axle and check all the rubbers and arms but every thing seems good and strong, what can be the problem, I'm really getting crazy i changed the tyres and did balance but nothing changed 😢
hi I love to watch your repair videos. I own a 2007 honda crv, repair videos help me a lot. would you make videos how to repair water pump and engine mounts. I think 15 years car is time to replace these. thank you!!
I really enjoy ur vids. question.. I'm replacing my struts..80k on my son's mazda2. Nothing wrong with them just old. Nothing wrong with springs, but should I replace the springs also? Thanks
If the steering wheel isn't moving with the 9-3 wheel test, why would it be the inner tie rod joint? Is it more prone to failure vs outer tie rod ends? Is it just the mechanics of the inner vs outer tie rod connections that fail differently?
Can you tell me what the difference between a sway bar being mounted to lower knuckle vs directly to the suspension? My car has the option of either or and I'm trying to find out which is better
So I’m on airbags but as of Now When I go Fast it leans to one side when I bearly turn the steering wheel and since I’v bin driving it a lil bit Evan at normal speeds it goes to the left and right it feels like I got to balance it to have it go straight I’m thinking it’s my tie rods and a alignment
My car would Do these periodic very obvious “Sudden” And “Random” quick jerk (or sway) mostly felt towards the left driver side For a couple of seconds, Then it will drive normally. A half mile or a mile down the road, it will Do it again. A couple of mechanics I went to couldn’t really find what’s wrong
Did you figure out this problem? I'm having this problem after replacing ALL SUSPENSION parts from front to back. And after getting the alignment the rear is swaying at highway speeds
+@memedaddyz We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

Strut assemblies are junk.. OEM mounts.. New struts (OEM or aftermarket).. reuse bump stops and boots.
