Hey Chud. I’m from Ontario. I just got my 1987 single cab long box on the road. It’s the 2.8L 5 speed manual. I spent a total $4000 cad even on it so $2900 usd. I am loving it. Seeing you do yours made me want to do my own
That thing is cleaning up real nice. You've got the exact rear bumper I'm needing for my truck! Great job of sticking to a budget, something I have a hard time doing. Thanks for the update, can't wait to se what engine you end up with. Amber bulbs imo.
Luckily the bumper came with it. I am loving the look, wish the front fender was not dented and bed floor could have less rust. Hope I can continue with the good budget and be cheaper than the one before it... I think amber is the way to go too. Thanks for watching!!
I had a red Ranger with five on the floor and a bench seat. Put a lot of miles on it. Drove it from northern Indiana to Florida to visit my grandparents.
I would consider if it was good running for cheap. Not really wanting it to be super fast. Mostly looking for that lovely V8 sound. Thanks for watching!!

Those nv3500's aren't going to power shift and yank the front tires on slicks, but I've seen a couple survive for years behind 400ish and below hp small blocks on street tires. It would be fun, and give you overdrive for the highway.
@chud327 that's fair, I don't know how the s10 ones are geared. I think these were both from half ton trucks. I have 2 spare Saginaw 4 speeds laying around, maybe I need to go manual too. About to start working on mine again after several years.
For the engine & trans; I'd go for a 350 5 speed, but like you said, whatever's the best deal & the bumper lights; I think clear lenses with amber bulbs.
I want to do an exhaust cutout possibly with some kind of boomtube sticking out the side. But also have a complete exhaust all the way to the back for semi stealth mode. Thanks for watching!!

Tho not a S10 I did a 85 Monty. Ignore the 2 1/2" duals exhausting the 350 with many GM factory hi-po parts like 72 Corvette forged pistons, 65 Nova SS cam, 69 Z28 valve springs, late 60s camel hump heads and a few other goodies / secret operations. I left the 4.3 tag on the deck lid. A dog off the line with it's 2.21 gears. Had $2000 in it. Surprised many top $$ cars on the highway.~grinz~

Yeah I'd say old school v8 and automatic. What type of old school v8 is the question and stock or would you add a mild cam and small stuff like intake and carb I wanna do that to my 85 S10 , currently looking for a V8 drivetrain myself old school style 305 or 350
Old school would be easier, fuel injection would be nice. Some how need best of both worlds. Would love a little cam, but just so I can sit and listen to it. Ideally I would love a 327 for the channel, but currently have my eyes on a 350. Automatic would be the easy way, but would love to shift some gears. The S10 in the junkyard in this video, is that the same one you took the transmission from, for the Jeep?? How about Go Diesel, make it Roll Coal Go 5-Speed Something General Motors never did, but there are a few out there, make this truck a Dually S10.
That is the same S-10 that jeep got it transmission from. Cool that you watched the jeep video too. I have actually been thinking on trying to grab a diesel for it. I am not sure on the dually parts, but everything else is mind-reader stuff. Thanks for watching!!

If you were to take the carpet out and hang it up, and pressure wash it and then die it whatever color you want, it’d probably look good and save you money.
5.3 LS with a ratchet shifter could be good. Bet you could find one real cheap at a junk yard.

If that was a 5.0 coyote engine, I'd say do-it asap, but just a regular 302 5.0 wouldn't justify all the extra work.

I would do a turbo 4.3 or a 355 in it reason I said a 4.3 turbo is you can make your own version of a cyclone since they was ultimately s10s
