Micaela ミカエラ Looks like a charming town! I'd like to see a bit of the countryside - any hiking, biking trails, fun outings in the area. In the meantime, enjoy your time there! 😊

I really want to see the rice fields and the old houses. I love vids where the cameraman just film whats in front of him while exploring the countryside. maybe places that is new to him aswel. maybe you could do a vid like that? I also really want to hear about school at the countryside :) bw I just love your house!

I want to see the rice fields grow and of course make friends with the locals ( invite them over for tea ).

Possibly, it would be interesting to know what the locals think of living in the countryside and why they choose it over living in the city. ^_^

I want to know about the local myths and legends of that town. I grew up in a rural town and the best thing was always the local folklore. If you ask them point-blank a lot of them may not have a story to tell; the trick is to instead ask about the reason or history behind the names of notable places in the area.

This is the side of Japan I would love to learn about most! If I were to ever move there, I would prefer a small town like that(I'm from a small town in Louisiana, USA). I'm so looking forward to your videos while you're there! 💖

I agree. I live in a small town in Massachusetts. I totally "get" that Tokyo is (and has) everything, but I can imagine myself in a small town like that much more readily. It just looks so comfortable to me.

I love this video so much! I am applying for the JET program this year and I have been a little worried about being placed in the countryside. This looks so peaceful, though, and I love that everything is made local. The community feeling was received very well through the video. I am looking forward to your videos while you're in Aya!

I lived in Aya for 14 years, from 1987 to 2001. I worked in the Board of Education office at the Kominkan/Bunka Hall. I was the English teacher slash International Relations guy. I translated the town homepage, but clearly when the office updated it they deleted all the English pages. I used to live right across the block from the city hall building. My in-laws still live right there. If you're interested, there are many English books available at the Miyazaki Prefectural Library. It's abotu half an hour into the city. Good luck living there, I'm sure you'll love it.

i just moved from the Big City i was born in Mexico to the Countryside in France, and i totally relate! i am lucky enough to be with my amazing husband and his family that welcome me so nicely in their house, but the change is huuugee from having everything i wanted to do or eat or buy to having to take the road to the nearest city and adapt to what you find there. I started vlogging about all of this on my channel, more like a kind of diary to re watch it later and remember the feeling of moving here.
