  • After more than a year and a half, I was finally able to go home and visit my family, and take Tatsu along with me. It was his first time ever meeting my parents, and seeing my hometown. I think it helped him understand a little bit more about me, and my upbringing/values. In Japan it's so easy to be caught up in a busy life, we always have to appear like we are TRYING OUR BEST, but as my parents have shown me, there is more to life than living and trying to please others.

Your parents home is my dream. I've never loved city life. Always wanted a nice house in nature and animals. I'm much older now and I'm still stuck in the crowded city were you can't go anywhere to be alone and hear pure nature sounds and breath clean air

In that area, animals roaming your front yard include bears, coyotes and deer. I have a picture of a deer standing just outside the window of my ex-fiancee's house, just a few cities over.

Huge houses are maintain to hard(cost etc).
I'm getting older, I satisfied with living a small house.
Especially If you live in Japan is-lands, many natural disaster
happens in every year, you are able to move anywhere.

Such a Canadian video (in a good way)! Everything reminded of Canada, from the lakes, to bedrooms, to the forests. That potato and steak reveal... exactly what would happen at my house too! I love living in Japan, but it's always nice to go back and appreciate a different way of living life. Like you said, there's no right answer, and you should try and live life the way that makes you happy.

That is so pretty. I moved back home 10 years this October. I loved the city, but coming home was the right thing for me. Being able to go horseback ridding, hanging out with the cowboys. Seeing the stars at night. It's so wonderful and peaceful. Going around town and people calling you by name. Helping the next generations of kids grow up. Telling them tales of travels that I had done. Watching them dream. As we get older, we find our selves more and more.

You are the first JVlogger I ever came across and this video reminds me why you are one of my favorite TH-camrs to watch. The way you talk to us (your viewers) and explain yourself just feels real and honest, and your camera work is incredible. You have been so inspiring to me Micaela; I have gone to Europe for travel and classes, am working on finishing up university, and celebrating my engagement to my fiance! You've showed me that taking risks is scary but can be oh so worth it.

Wow! Your home is beautiful and Canada is truly stunning so much so, I'm now looking at visiting just to get lost and explore!! As always, a fantastic video with beautiful shots and compositions as well as a really nice and subtle narrative. I really, really enjoy your style of videos; they are informative and really useful but also really beautiful and really well shot and edited.
I particularly like this video because you are back on form; you've got your flare back and you can see you've relaxed and regenerated so to speak. Your happy personality has returned and it really shows in this video and I am so happy for you! I think the bit that hit home for me though was your final words; "If we've only got one life, we might as well try our best to make it a damned good one" - this really spoke to me! It is true that we should never ever forget our roots and home will always be home but each and every one of us needs to find our own path in life and shape our own story.
Thank you so much for sharing your home and its surroundings with us; both are magnificent and beautiful!
    All the best.
    Chris

Love this video. Thanks for sharing your hometown with us! Of note though, at least in many areas in the US, confortable rural living means having enough money to make building adjustments, buy groceries for a long period, commute into the city for work, pay for land taxes, etc. Living out in the country, in TX for example, is also extremely divided between social classes. So the desire to escape and move to a big city can only stay a desire for those without the financial support to leave the rural setting. Hardwork sometimes isn't enough for that first step...
