Its amazing how fast fighting game strategy travels these days. 3 years after release and freekin JUSTIN WONG still didnt know Aegis Reflector was so dangerous. Nowadays though? Within 24 hours the world wouldve known. Probably not know the EXTENT of Aegis' craziness, but everyone would know it has potential.
And after FG strategy changed with social media, Internet video, streaming tournaments instead of needing to travel to scout the best in the world-- Tokido is still on top
The footies guide says that: you should keep out of the corner when you can because staying there too long can have devastating results on your vitality.
no, both players are sitting back and building meter in the beginning because both players think they get the advantage by doing so, the reason being that american players simply didn't know about the aegis setups tokido was using
@FullyJams So true, during the beginning of the 2nd round some dude near the camera even mentions Justin not letting Tokido "power up now" which is probably a reference to DBZ.
This is way back when Japanese players were light years ahead of American players, Americans didn't even know about unblockable set ups at the time, the playing field has evened out since then.
@arso21 why would i delete them? lol they're one of the best 3S players out there. Momochi in his prime was very good too. also guys like Rikimaru Nemo Nuki KO etc... MOV and Ino are in there rightful place as one of the best.
@SpitefulAZ if your talking about 3rd Strike, to this day Japan is still very far ahead of America. theres no one in Japan let alone in the world that can match guys like Kuroda RX MOV Ino etc...but they have gotten closer since this video lol
18 years later and no USA player have still match mov, rx, sugami, hayao and the 3rd strike god kuroda!!! 21 years later and 3rd strike is still the #1 2D fighting game of all times
@@KingAllpha321You are wrong tho. Just watch guys like Nica KO and Justin visiting Japan during the recent years, they do very good! Exodus and other guys are up there too, western 3s has come a long way.

And after all these years, Tokido plays SF6, waiting SF6 next year and Jwong streaming 3s and people parrying his SAs
master's guide to learning high tier in 3S:
Chun: AYY AYY AYY AYY AYY
Makoto: URYAH URYAH URYAH URYAH
Yun: ooOOH GENEI JIN HEYAH HEYAH HEYAH HEYAH HEYAH
Urien: *see above*
Ken: Shoryuken! Shoryuken- SHORYUKEN! Shoryuken!
rare footage of american plebs first witnessing unblockables
seeing this never gets old I love my brothers and sisters in the fgc
seems justin wong was the test subject for these japanese players crazy plays LOL
Low Tier God, take notes! This is how u play Urien!🤣
Lmao SFV doesn't have unblockables, even if it did he'd say how easy they are and try for a full 24 hours before he actually hit one.
Justin wong's meter building, only to lead him to an aegis setup for almost all his life
i laughed when they started cheering during the meter building
Who is here after the Yipes and James story during Final Round?
you know it papi chulo
"that was hot"
Still one of my favourite videos and moments in FGC history.
Best Supporting Actor for his performance of SF3 3rd strike.
Talk about insane! That is one incredible Urien player! O_O
Wonder if Tokido and J Wong will do another battle with these characters.
UltraChen sent me here - jchensor with the spot on history last episode. USA gets introduced to unblocables
This is legendary.
The footies guide says that: you should keep out of the corner when you can because staying there too long can have devastating results on your vitality.
Urien is so badass
dat name~long time time not heard...
Was it just an unwritten rule during the early days of SF3 to start the match by building meter? 😂
This was an exhibition match so no
America didn’t use Aegis reflector. I believe this was the first time anyone really got a chance to see how dumb it could be on a big stage
no, both players are sitting back and building meter in the beginning because both players think they get the advantage by doing so, the reason being that american players simply didn't know about the aegis setups tokido was using
@lupinyonsei lol yes. Just look at recent tournament results (I mean evened out in a majority of games, not just 3S)
tokido was 16 yo back then?
why is tokido building meter with standing fierce?
standing strong is the fastest way to build meter with urien
@FullyJams

Tokido mained urien a decade ago? The gods must be salty he's sold out to the devil😵😂
It's now been 20 years. Feels crazy.

lmaaoo justin looked like a goddam ragdoll in the first round

it wouldve been much better if the first round ended after the combos.
shouldn't have let me build that meter.
his super is very similar to dhalsim's ultra
@someguyhunter
aren't you clever? you managed to find that out 8 years after this match, grats.
@donangry You think you're better?
@donangry no he just hadn't fought a competent urien until then
search in RX

theshend would be please to hear that... XD
@Ramar16 cal poly...
FUCKING BAITED
@SpitefulAZ true even a 16 year old could've beaten him!
so the Aegis reflector is some sort of rape device?
LMAOOOOOO
You'll never see something like this in SF4 because it is a shitty game.
Damn Wong is terrible.
