    Well the time has come and I felt this might be a place to start. I just looked up 2 strokes for sale and I actually couldn’t find but two meanwhile there were an abundant of 4 strokes for sale. People just don’t want them and the time is now for the switch back to the true racing machines. I also watched a pro motocross race today and the stands were empty. No one is going to the races. I big factor is the lugging 4 stroke but there are some other issues I won’t get into right now. If Honda and the others are listening it is time to bring back the CR250. Brand new on the showroom floor and with the new style body yet with the best CR250 motor made. You don’t even have to over do it and the bikes will sell. I am saddened at what has happened to the sport. Motocross has a strong blue collar background with young men that were proud to be tough but those kids can’t even come close to buying s bike now at these prices. It’s destroying the sport. If I was Honda which made the best racing 250 ever I would make sure the people get what they want. The news would spread far and wide and Honda would not even be able to keep up with the sales and parts. Honda, give us the finest machine ever made back to us. We won’t let you down

      @@motoblast3574 Its not uncommon at all, Honda had several problems with reliability, power and frame structure during their 2T era, Kawi and Yamaha out built them in everyway during this time, which is ironics since on the road racing side of things, Honda at this time was insanely dominant. They became great at dirt in the 4T era, even the cr500 everyone raves about was vastly behind the times and underwhelming when compared to kawi's kx500 2t of that era.
      Edit: Yamaha is still improving their 2T's as is KTM and they both make arguably the best 2Ts of modern times. Kawi has recently become a contender in supermini's with the kx112, but it is sad to see no 125 from them.

      Yes it's Inherent in the 2stroke engine design is why. 2 revolutions per firing etc. Once 4-stroke tech caught up the factories saw the writing on the wall. You work twice as hard to achieve a lower lap time on a 2stroke. Grew up racing 2strokes! I'm 49yrs old. Moved on many yrs ago. Still have 2 - RM 2-strokes (mid '00s).. but 2 - newer Yamaha 4-strokes .

    • @johansmitphotography
      @johansmitphotography 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@andrewstanfill9305 2 Strokes have more torque and low end grunt, wayyyy more stall resistant, has that pop to be able to double blip and hop onto rocks and stuff, and also a big reason is 2 strokes run cooler than 4 strokes... 4 strokes overheat in scenarios where you do very slow riding... So this basically sums up why 2 strokes are a decent bit better than 4 strokes for hard enduro... more on the stall resistance... I've had myself in a few scenarios where I really thought, for a millisecond, my bike stalled, and I pulled the clutch quickly, and the bike magically just kept crawling uphill. It's sometimes just surprises you how it kept running even at some load... Also a very minor thing, and this I'm not very sure about, but I've heard 4 stroke engines can't run at very very steep angles, otherwise the oil doesn't reach the engine as it should, like for long continuous wheelies, or steep mountain climbs. Where the 2 stroke has it's oil in it's fuel obviously. Not sure if this last thing is really true though. Something to think about I guess.

    I rode a 2001 kx 250 for four years then got a new 2006 crf250r and it took me one day for me to be faster on track then the kx250 . The crf was easier to ride and I don't mean easy it just was better power across the whole rpm range less shifting and also there isn't a comparison between a kx and a Honda in the suspension and braking dept so that had a lot to do with being better on the Honda. My brother said I was gonna hate it cause it compared to a 125 2 stroke but I loved it to death compared to 2 strokes and yes I was that guy saying no way I'm getting a 4 stroke .

    I had an 86 YZ 250 that I had much fun on. I learned to ride on a CR125 if am remembering correctly it was a 1981 Elsinore. Graduated HS in 85 so I was definitely a 2 stroke guy most my buddies were. I did have one friend that rode an Honda XR which for a four stroke in those days was a sweet ride. Well I still don't get the logic behind comparing a 450 and a 250 two stroke. It's literally comparing two completely different displacements just because of an old ama rule. Literally no different than giving me a handicap in the 100 sprint and comparing me to Usain bolt.

    • @4touchdowns1game29
      @4touchdowns1game29 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also a modern four stroke especially shouldn't be compared to a bigger displacement four stroke. I'm sure the ama didn't think that 250cc four strokes would one day come stock with over 50 hp.
