make a good point about car dealers getting away with whatever this day and age - feel like honestly you should just call the guy out directly. with your reach you never know, could actually save someone a ton of misery and financial heartache who can't afford to make a return on a youtube video about it. scamming lying dealers like that don't deserve to have their reputation protected imo
My friend the local junk dealer overhauls every clap trap he buys. Don't know how he makes money. I always assumed it was the law.
@@rogersmith7396 well I mean you can genuinely buy clunkers for nothing, fix them and resell, I bought a non running ls400 for 200 bucks made it run with just a fuel pump and sold it for 2k

This might be news to Johnny (ninja) and Tyler, but the Z8's top Never closed entirely automatically. That was from the factory (not sure why but other Z8 owners have indicated this) and designed to only close so far, then you personally have to manually pull it closed and latch it. So it is now working as it should.

Hey Hoovie, the body kit on the E30 definitely isn't an M-technic kit. I wasn't able to figure out what it was but definitely looks period correct! Might have some markings or stamps somewhere indicating the brand.
It looks like a period Zender kit or similar.

Of all of the cars in this video, that old Isuzu Trooper caught my eye. LOL. I had one in red. 2 door long wheel base like that one. Absolutely loved it. Was like a tractor with the 4 cylinder... 5 speed and a turbo muffler. So much fun.

I know someone who bought an E39 on eBay from Florida from some sketchy Russian guy a few years back. Claimed it was fully running with clean history. The car had every warning light on imaginable and didn't look like the car in the pictures. It was clearly a flood car when you looked under the hood and in the interior. I tried to convince him to contact eBay asap but as the saying goes: it's easier to fool someone than to convince them that they got fooled.
Tavarish and Jared managed to restored a McLaren 675LT that was deemed unsavageable by Mclaren themselves... they'll be fine restoring a simple Audi.
Pretty sure the value of the McLaren is better than the R8

I had a minty Z4 3.0 for a few years. It was fun, but TBH, I enjoyed driving my Miata more. Only a 94 NSX put a bigger smile on my face than my 94 Miata. Anybody that's into cars should own a Miata, at least once.

I needed this right now, thank you Hoovie. I have been playing with junkers for a while and decided to invest in a newer Forester so I could be more comfortable (ogre here). I got stuck with the worst investment I've ever made with the FB25 engine burning oil. I've decided I'm going to list it honestly as an oil burner and try to sell it before the engine fails. What a gut punch, but like you said you have to know when to punt.... sticking with my junkers for a while after this smack down!
I'm not sure why Subarus are so popular, I had tons of problems with the only one I ever owned and lots of them have chronic defects.

Believe me, I envy you. You got to live the dream so many of us 80s kids had; including your own as you've shared. I used to see them all the time at Bruce Canepa Motorsports in Santa Cruz; would drool over them walking to/from Jr High in the late 80's. But. You don't fit (which, at 6'6" fully crushes my dreams) and, despite loving it, always state how much it hurts to drive. And while it'll continue to appreciate in value, it's also going to keep being a money pit. After all, older Italian cars are bad enough; but one that's barely been driven all these years is just going to keep 'rewarding' you with leaks from every possible orifice. Cash in massively, pay off some of that massive car debt and treasure the memories forever. :-)

I get why he doesn’t or won’t; he doesn’t want to deal with libel/slander lawsuits. In theory, truth is an absolute defense, but depending on the state, there is such a thing as (for lack of a better term) “malicious truth.” That’s when what you say is true, but done in a way to deliberately damage someone’s reputation.
You make a good point about constantly driving the cars to and from your contacts for various work, I'd like to see more videos of the cars being driven, some road trip videos of finished projects etc

The Z8 convertible top stops there right above the windshield because you need to assist it down to latch. There's another motor / electric latch that hooks onto the top. You need to put your hand to the middle front part of the roof and push it down to the top of the windshield. Once it makes contact, the electric latch will lock the dop down... Anyway, the ninja I'm sure will figure that out, along with a million strings in the BMW Z8 forum about the convertible tops... Good luck and enjoy all the hoopties!
