1963 my best friend's dad bought him a '62 Impala (demo car). Good news for the rest of us - some pocket change in the ash tray for the .25¢ a gallon PREMIUM gasoline got us rides all around town. Great build. Again, I like your "art" choices for accessories and colors. Thanks for sharing.
Very entertaining as always. I drove a '62 Chevy wagon in high school. It had the 235 cu in 6-cyl. Yes, you could get them in an Impala. Back then it was just a used car.
I'm in the middle of building Don Nicholson's '61 Impala Super Stock by AMT. I've been extremely impressed with the quality and especially the detail. Basically it's the same model as this only modified for racing of course. I would recommend this kit and thanks Chris for showing me what I should have glued together first before I painted it. hehe It's ok, it's all good.
Chris, out of all the youtube model videos I subscribe to, I think yours is the most expensive. This kit is a perfect example. I never would have considered it until you highlighted those oddball (awesome) decals. And, of course, now its on its way. Great video as usual!!

You've come up with some interesting colors for this interior, but they go well with the Kat from AMT decals (He was in the decal sheet for the '66 Galaxie and I just had to use him!). Again, a nice build and another Impala I should put into my collection.
Man I was excited about this kit. But! I'm unimpressed. The 62 chevy impala ss is a better kit. It's still a good kit tho. I think I had myself overhyped ! Beautiful job as usual Chris!👉
I love the retro-modern decals. Along with the decals, it would be cool to add an inboard record turntable and beverage cooler. Maybe throw a pair of hipster sunglasses on the dash.
I clicked the link and bought the 62 Impala SS Convertible and some accessories to make it more realistic. Unfortunately, the SS kit doesn’t have the 409. It has a fuel injected 427 instead so it’s not stock. Chevy didn’t offer the 427 until 1966. I wanted the 409, but I had to choose between that and the SS option. I might have to do some kit bashing at some point. I do have a 59 El Camino with a 348. Maybe I’ll use that. It’s indistinguishable except for the dipstick. Then I can put the 427 in the El Camino. I’ll figure something out. Too bad you can’t buy just the engine but I guess the hobby isn’t big enough to support that. I want to get this one as close to perfect as I can. Maybe I’ll record myself building it and put it on my channel.
Usually feels a little strange to me when AMT includes their logos as decals but that retro Kat pattern looks fantastic. Great way to celebrate the anniversary
Why are so many model car fans bent 1 blade, and do you know the name of the song you've played B4 with the fiddle and guitar? Always sounds like an old civil war tune. Also nice build.

I wish amt would add a convertible top. I built a reissue a few years ago. Got a resin top from modelhaus.
