      Thanks for the feedback. I'm trying this new format 'cause it's a lot easier for me to record and edit, so I can produce more stuff.
      I'll keep making stuff with the previous format for some videos, though. It's just that they take sooo long in comparison. lol

    Definitely the best video someone who wants to be a reina main can watch, as a beginner the lows is the thing you struggle the most, I just hit the purple ranks so I'm sure this moves will help me going forward, nice job and thank you.

  • @BigDaddyWes

    Couldn't agree more. I think this was just one of those things where TheMainMan said she has bad lows, and then the entire community parroted that, and now Reina players just simply don't ever use lows in any circumstance other than wavu mix-up.

    • @Omar12521

      incorrect
      if you compare these lows to other characters is just not that amazing at all. it has its uses like the one explained in the video but its just niche and relies on the CH to be good
      but for me hell sweep is good enough for me been doing good with it

      @@Omar12521 I love using db4 as a poke to do quick damage and make them second guess what I'm going to do. Purposefully not doing the extension to condition them into pressing to get 1+2.
      I don't know how good or bad ss4 actually is, but I like to throw that into the mix as well, seems to work pretty well.
      How's your experience using those?

      @@Raritoken db4 is fine like it showed in the video it can wall splat with the extenstion which is good. but thats the problem u need to CH to be good. and it does not high crush and thats something huge meaning something like a jab will beat u everytime when u try to db4 CH unless if they are very very late
      ss4 is average imo i throw it when i expect an attack then i ss4 but the problem with it like other lows of reina u gain no momentum on hit its 0 meaning back to neutral so i dont use itvery much unless if i was lazy and want something other than a hell sweep that kills even if thats the case i'll just db2 for the kill.

      Hellsweep - launch punishable
      Sentai 3+4 - launch punishable
      DB2 - launch punishable and leaves you negative ON HIT
      Her lows certainly have their utility and strengths, but the Reina player takes the brunt of the risk when they use her lows. Her lows are absolutely bad relative to most of the other cast.

    F+1+2,3 is IMO her best low. Wait with the 3 input at the last moment to see if the opponent blocks low. If they attack you when doing the 3 input you get a counterthrow that does 1/4 of their healthbar.

    doing hellsweep out from her windstep(d/f+3) is actually good tho, almost an unseenable low move in point blank range due to how fast the crouch dash comes out from a d/f+3 input vs the traditional f,n,d,d/f.

    @Sammysapphira 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

    Very deceptive hiding the health bars and frame data... Heavens wrath d4,3 is not a natural combo, and the low portion only does 4 damage. Its possibly the lowest damage low in the entire game, and its launch punisbable on the extension. Its literally never worth using.

    • @Merakane
      @Merakane 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      yes its mentioned in the video the 2nd hit is only hit confirmable, pertaining that the string is not a Natural. He also showed the frames on block on that move

  • @hollowedboi5937
    @hollowedboi5937 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Could you go over her stance cancel when doing the backwards or sidestep dancing? If you tap down forward when sidestepping away or towards the screen, you will side step, go into wavedash, or just cancel based on how long you hold or tap downward. Then if you tap I believe downward and then up when sidestepping away it will side step in the other direction. This actually helped me a lot if I wanted more distance than just korean backdash, sometimes making people completely whiff, allowing me to launch punish or go into heat engager. Also incredibly useful with getting a bit of heat back when you go into side stance and mix in some counter parries with back 1+2 to continue to keep heat if they're on the offensive.
    I say all this because I think Tekken 8 really tried to get the core essence of each character in the game with their new moves and animations, but also their heat engage accentuating these attributes. Kazuya obviously has his devil mode, jin gets access to other stances and perfect just frame moves as well as partial use of his demon, bryan is just full on damage and having fun, Kuma honors his master while using his claws more with ewgf- Though Reina I would say becomes both more aggressive and deceptive. In the story she covers up her intention by having a bubbly attitude who was just interested in Jin due to his connection to the university(?) heihachi had. Though when she shows her true colors she changes attitude and becomes more aggressive. I find this mix of deception between stances to then punish and rush down offense and mix-up is insinuated in her game plan and character. And part of this could be by incorporating these stance cancels and conditioning the other to hit you (her literally going into near death situations in the story in order to gain an advantage and the devil form, she wants to get that risk reward).

    • @justApplay
      @justApplay  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree. I think I what the gameplay they wanted to give her is a deceptive type of stance character that can switch from one state to another.
      I read a bit about Taido and heard that the idea is to mix your options to make it harder for the opponent to expect what attack you want to use. I'm probably going to talk about her stances in future videos now that I understand the game better. Thanks for the feedback!

      @@justApplay Yeah, I deffinetely going to try db4, 1+2 near wall next time. As to interactions I have tested it a bit and IMHO Unsoku 4 or CD1,4 is the best wall brake in neutral, but what combo ender is better after wall brake is a question I have no time to test properly. Another low I found useful is f1+2 3. Surprisingly not a lot of people seem to not use it so much, at least with other Reinas I've encountered, and my opponents don't tend to realise I can trap them with the roll animation. Opponent tries to jab or power crush to interrupt, and they get hit low and suffer a counter hit throw. for their troubles.Pairs well with her df 3+4 since that is a mid counter hit throw as well.

  • @ASlopedRoof
    @ASlopedRoof 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Good stuff, I'd add that db4 1+2 can also be used to setup movement, as most stuff that doesnt track gets stepped or walked by female characters when they're at -2, like after db4, and if the opponent doesn't respect the movement the extension exists to smack him for trying a tracking move, definitely a more universal concept but a female character at -2 is pretty much ideal conditions for sidestep and Walk.

    This got to be the worst reina guide so far. db4,1+2 is not hitconfirmable and even if it was, it wouldnt have made a difference. If it gets blocked, or you get hit first the risk is just way to high and not worth it. You shouldnt use it because it literally sucks ass. cd4,4 is only good to hit grounded enemies, but besides that, the other hellsweep into hw stance is much better and last but not least the WRA d4,3 is literally a worse version of canceling into hellsweep from stance. No reason to use a worse low. Please dont make a guide if re gonna put false information in it
