I've never managed to make it work. I have input lag on my controller, so I have to do f, d+2,df weirdly enough and I get it 50% of the time at best no matter how long I train. I played other reinas that I couldn't see their ewgf coming. Mine is obvious, you'll see it coming so that sucks. I might stop playing her altogether.
She is a brutal character in terms of difficulty but when you start flowing with her it’s just incredible the amount of freedom of creativity you have with her. Definitely worth the headache
One thing that worth mentioning is that the Frame Data on "Stances" are somehow misleading, for example here at 1:27 her Tsunami kick normally gets you -1 on hit, and if you press down she goes to a stance that says +6. Some people might think "oh hey stance is actually safer" while it actually is not. Because stances don't have hit box, so my suspicion is that the number +6 is actually starting from the last Tsunami kick hit, and since there is additional animation frames for her doing the stance, the actual frames advantage should be less than -1 Another example is 1:59 she gets +14 if you don't stance and +23 if you stance. You can easily tell that there is no way she has that much more frames advantage doing that spinning move, like I mean how can that be a whooping +23? It just can't be.
Frame advantage is calculated based on the moment the character becomes actionable, in this case when Reina can take action from her stance. I don't have the game in front of me at the moment but I'm pretty sure that +6 means your WRA 1 (i12) is going to smoke your opponent's jab. Remember that most stances can be canceled much faster than the total duration of the animation. If you take a look at any time she does SEN 3 in this vid, barely any of the actual Sentai animation needs to play before she can start the kick
@@ArkRiley yeah I have the game infront of me. I tested this and it does. Her 1,3 and her 1+2 and 2 smoke jabs. So essentailly if you are holding down that +1 frame advantage they have gets overridden too a -6 or what ever so if they mashed 1. it wont start upuntil after that 6 frames.

sentai 1+2 always goes into HW, says you're -6 but startups from stance/ delay till you can block even with cd cancel make it punishable on block, so it's pretty risky.

Focus on pressing 2 at the same time as ur df input. Most of the time ppl press the f,df input before pressing 2 which makes it a wgf without electric. Focus ur brain on pressing 2 and try to forget abt d,df
Work on getting at least the uppercut correctly instead of other accidental inputs. With time you start working on doing the electric and finding the correct timing for it. Getting electric consistently takes time, so start using it in situations that are easier to have control over it, like for block punishment and later as a keepout attack. Using it for whiff punishment and pressure is more difficult, so use other tools for those purposes at first.
Learning to EWGF will take some time, I been playing Tekken since T4 but didn't actually take it serious and start improving until Tekken 7 around mid way through the last season. Since then I have only managed to consistently do 2 or 3 EWGFs, so don't beat yourself up when you find yourself frustrated on only being able to do 1 or 2 EWGFs until you finally get how to consistently do 3 and more. In general you'll want to be able to at least do 2 EWGFs in combos, even pros generally use only 2 and if confident enough they'll go for 3. Now if you're legendary they go for like 4 or 5😂

Hello, I tried the perfect ewgf on a ps5 controller and it doesn't do the electric most times. Fwd neutral df 2 . Am I doing something wrong. Advice pleass
You'll need to turn your input display in training mode on in order to diagnose the real problem, but 9/10 times the problem is that you're not pressing the 2 button fast enough. You need to press it a frame or two faster than what it *feels* like should work. Turn on the input reader and look for the DF arrow on your WGF. If there's any time at all between you pressing DF and 2, you don't get the electric.
It's a very difficult job to punish -13 with EWGF. It's not impossible, but very hard to as a consistent option. For -13 she can use 2,2,1 or df+1,2 as reliable options
@justApplay I see, another thing, it not list in the move list, but from her df 3 wind God step, what is the timing to input 2 to get an electric out? I have done it so randomly.
Is it a PS5 pad? On PS4 one, I used to hit the corner of the down input with my thumb, instead of pressing both forward and down together. That was the trick for me. Now the timing to get the electric is a matter of finding your own method through a lot of practice
Man, electrics got easier in this game but I still cant manage to do them online :( I wanna play her so bad but I feel like Im missing too much of her toolkit without electrics
More like the execution requirement for it. It's optimal but not practical, esp in online. Try doing Kazuya's PEWGF and if you still can, Heihachi's OTGF as well and you'll understand why it's more either for optimum punish or optimum swag.
@zakutenakazumiya1516 I can actually ONLY do pewgfs consistently 😅 skipping the down input aligns way better for my brain and f,df+2 is very intuitive for me. I can barely do f,d,df+2 electrics like for example with Jin.
@@justApplay saying its not practical is a wrong word for that you should say its not consistent or reliable its very practical if you are a very high lvl player
@@justApplay Hold on! I actually think they made the buffer period more lenient this time. I was practicing against Devil Jin's d3+4(along with throws, demon scraper and trying to react to db2[I didn't lol])and I landed electrics as a punish(-15) way more times in the 5 minutes than I would in 7. Could be because of the vigorous training I was doing in 7 though... (And that 1 frame of neutral is significantly different than 2 or 3 frames of neutral)
@@EraseTimeI'm confused on exactly what you're asking but I will try and explain it more simply on what they said. They said they used Google to search up the boxed notations from the game itself and then used photo shop to put it in the video.
@SOUL_KROMANCER well let me explain to you in baby words so your small brain can understand, when you are making a combo video you just can't rip off images from Google, that's because you need to create a sequence of button input plus text or icons, so you actually need a program and a method to do so, so my question is very simple how to insert notation in a video? I'm asking for the third time

That's a "we will see" because her stances are great the character overall is good but is it stronger than all the other options? I mean, if there's a character that's easier to execute on and is better then that will be a tournament favorite over Reina. However if certain characters get nerfed she might become priority, the same thing happened to Kunimitsu. Only Ao really played it but given enough nerfs to the top tier characters she got ramped up since her kit was effectively untouched at the time and had fairly easy executions and a great stance game. People picked her up really quickly before they nerfed her.
“plus 6” doesn’t change the situation just cause of a stance lmfaooo anything that would’ve hit at minus 1 will still hit just cause you’re in stance lmfaoooo
it does. because with out it the game makes the opponent +1 but if u hold stance it over rides it and make the opponent -6 meaning if they mashed lets say 1 it wont come out until 6 later. how do you activate the heat without that initial kick?
tekken newb here, what do you mean it's not practical to punish the hopkick with the perfect electric? does she have a better way to punish it?
It's a very difficult job to punish -13 with EWGF. It's not impossible, but very hard to as a consistent option.
For -13 she can use 2,2,1 or df+1,2 as reliable options
@@justApplay got it, cheers
Achei top, belo vídeo!
Is the perfect ewgf suppose to be harder? I swear it easier for me to do than the regular one which is a good thing I suppose
I'm feeling the same way about it. Not sure if they made any changes to that.
@justApplay I see, another thing, it not list in the move list, but from her df 3 wind God step, what is the timing to input 2 to get an electric out? I have done it so randomly.
What does taunt even do to benefit you? Like is it a counter or something?
No. It just may or may not piss your opponent off. lol
@@justApplay Ah fun
Can anyone explain why reina cant wavedash normally like other mishimas, unless at closer proximity to opponent?
I don't know the explanation to why, but I just recently learned her wavedash works just like in Tekken Tag 1. Interesting, but it sucks we can't lol
@@justApplay i see, glad to know it wasn't just me lol thanks
Does anyone have some tips on how to do a hellsweep and wind god fist on controller? It’s my first tekken game and i really struggling with it
Is it a PS5 pad?
On PS4 one, I used to hit the corner of the down input with my thumb, instead of pressing both forward and down together. That was the trick for me.
Now the timing to get the electric is a matter of finding your own method through a lot of practice
@@justApplay i actually prefer to use the stick because it’s what i am used to when it comes to fighting games
How did you get that cold for reina
Nice! 👍👍👍
Man, electrics got easier in this game but I still cant manage to do them online :( I wanna play her so bad but I feel like Im missing too much of her toolkit without electrics
just focus on df2 combos for now you can do a lot with basic wiff punishment
What a goated video
Why do you say the PEWGF is not practical? Or do you mean it specifically is not practical to punish a hop kick?
Yes, for punishment. In the neutral you can use that input just fine.
@@justApplay
Hold on!
Thanks
Yes yes but the notation how do you made it?😂 which program you use
Photoshop and I googled the images I edited
@@justApplay i use Photoshop too but how do you insert the buttons for combo notations? There is a program or something?
@@EraseTimeI'm confused on exactly what you're asking but I will try and explain it more simply on what they said.
They said they used Google to search up the boxed notations from the game itself and then used photo shop to put it in the video.
@SOUL_KROMANCER well let me explain to you in baby words so your small brain can understand, when you are making a combo video you just can't rip off images from Google, that's because you need to create a sequence of button input plus text or icons, so you actually need a program and a method to do so, so my question is very simple how to insert notation in a video? I'm asking for the third time
@@EraseTime Lol being rude for no reason when I am just trying to help you ya jackass.
Which controller button is the star ?
The star is neutral (no directional input)
what is her wall combo if wall splat?
Either df+1,1 into 1+2
Or jab into d+4,1+2 stomp
Essa roupa dela me lembra a kazumi :(
Ondeko has a stronger version but i cant even do it 😅
😂 I hate myself for choosing this as my main these stances and shit are so confusing
Reina is going to be a top tier tournament pick her kit is fking busted.
Meanwhile everyone else is saying shes lowtier
her lows are not that good. She has the same problem as heihachi
I think her stance and her overall frame can be an advantage remember she's a smaller heihachi her frame can quite be deceiving but yeah agreed her weak point is her lows but they buffed it up she's is going to be OP.
@@qerzuk
Meaning if you do lets say Heavens wrath 1,3 (12 frame move) it will beat a 10 frame jab Your heat engager 2 and your 1+2 (15 frame moves) will beat a jab as well. (I just tested this)
