Solo was decent, and good canon. It suffered from people being upset about the sequels, and Disney executives' negative marketing campaign angering fans. The constant drumbeat of cutting down legacy Star Wars characters and the fans themselves angered a lot of people. So they didn't see it in the theater - basically a lot of people had reasons to believe it would not be good or that they wanted to punish Disney. I went to see it in the theater. There was only one other person in the whole audience, who ended up giving me a ride home, during which we discussed what we had seen. We both enjoyed the movie a lot and agreed that Han and Lando's portrayals were very accurate to their established characters and a very good story, well executed by the actors. People who see the movie do tend to like it. In the Japanese audio for Episode V, Han tells Leia he loves her rather than saying "I know." Which is pretty wild. Of course Leia knows Han loves her back, and was just being cocky again in the moment.
After finding out that Princess Leia was in the detention level, when Han responded to the com panel, then blasted it,he used lines from an old Lucille Ball movie, saying not only "it was a boring conversation anyway, but telling Luke"we're going to have company " was worth sharing... don't you think?
there is also a second trilogy written around that trilogy, which fleshes out Han's childhood (why he takes "scruffy" so personally) and the ACTUAL kessel run. and the ACTUAL Sabaac match he won the falcon in - and why he's so defensive about winning it fair and square.
🤣🤣 I had an edible, and to be honest, I spaced out thinking about the Solo movie, but "Han Solo REALLY was a Nerf herder" pierced thru the haze LOL. While I didn't exactly LOVE the movie, I didn't think it was bad. I thought the actor was a convincing enough young Han. Even though I think it could have been better, I'm glad it was made. When I was young, I didn't want more trilogies. I wanted really good one-shot story movies about people and things in the Star Wars universe. While I've enjoyed SOME of the Star Wars series, I think I would have preferred that the Obi-Wan and Boba Fett series just be well-made movies...and, naturally, I always assumed they'd be made by George Lucas and not suck 😂
Han and Leia had 3 children! Twins Jacen and Jaina Solo and younger child, Anakin Solo. Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade-Skywalker had a child called Ben Skywalker! Disney said "Screw That"!! 🤔

Few things they don't know bedside palp uses Anakin hilt in EP vs mace, boba Fett was going be Luke mom, and han was going be palp family, and Mara jade was in EP 6
I like Star Wars but don't want to buy books and comics that fill in sloppy writing and plot holes in the movies.They get a cinema ticket every 3 years - nothing more.
I saw Solo on the last flight I took which was the first flight I had taken in 30 years as the one 30 years ago almost crashed and the landing was very bad with injuries so even though I watched the entire movie I don't remember anything in the movie.
WTF does Winston Churchill have to do with what happened long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away ? Actually i,ve never liked the cheesy 70's nicknames and one liners. It's not our galaxy and it's not in our time. Add some realism, make it something original that lives up to it's description. And the choice of weapons was poor. The Mauser C96 pistol to represent the DL 44 ? The Sten submachinegun to be the E-11 rifle? The Lewis Gun to be the T-21 ? Those were ancient history, even in 1977. Couldn't find any modern weapons so they would look kind of futuristic ?
So Lucas creates an entire mythology including the force, countless aliens, droids, vehicle, ships, planets, political system, governments, animals, buildings, lightsabers, body armors, but using slightly out of date practical/replica weapons dressed up for filming is too much of a problem? Are you upset he used real world names like Luke, Leia and Ben too? Lazy bum should have made up a few more fictional names, total travesty every time someone says “Luke”. Or just recognize it was likely practical, financial and time considerations that had them recycling dressed existing props. You know, like a coffee and ice cream maker.
