My playthrough team was Torterra, Staraptor, Luxray, Gastrodon East Sea, Yanmega and Bronzong and I was amazed how well it worked. Yanmega is a standout how much it surprised me
13:39 7/10 Thanks for rating my team! I mean for all it’s worth…I truly didn’t even think about Garchomp when adding Froslass to the team. But I’m glad to know I might have inspired Mikey to use one as well! The new Garchomp killer! Mine will be named Yuki: Based on the first part of Froslass’s Japanese name, “Yukimenoko” meaning “Snow”, and Yuki from Fruits Basket❄️ Enjoy BDSP everyone! Happy playing
Froslass deserves all of the love! It's my personal favorite pokemon, and she's always been my little dragon slayer. Even after fairy type became a thing, I still prefer to use Froslass. I usually name mine Kurara-onna (the Romanized name for the Japanese Icicle Woman)or Shiro-hime (white princess).
I'm still trying to figure out a 6th member as I tend to have a starter trio in my team, but basically all of the Sinnoh fire types aren't gonna work for various reasons. The only that might, Rotom Heat, isn't really one that I care much about either. I did come up with a Mismagius as backup though that one's probably redundant offensively with Weavile one the planned team as well.
@@skid1965 also I didn't make the Castform emoji, I saw it on I think his reaction video to "HOW BAD WAS CASTFORM ACTUALLY" in his comments, but it is cool

My team was Gardevoir, Infernape, Gyarados, Roserade, Weavile, and Garchomp. It was a pretty nice team, which easily handled Cynthia's team with relative ease.
There's 6 days to go, and I'm frequently thinking over what I would want on my team. The only thing I'm wondering now is, since it's been confirmed thanks to the datamining that it's the original DP Sinnoh Dex in play, how long I would have to go searching in the Grand Underground to get the 1 non-Sinnoh-Dex Pokemon I would want on my team? Also, for one particular Pokemon on the team I'm thinking about, how long would it take for me to get the evolution item? I would prefer not to have to wait as long as I did in the original game. Anyway, here's the team I was planning on using: Infernape Luxray Roserade Gastrodon Gardevoir Weavile
@@williamkaplan1430 Not sure yet. I'm definitely gonna be starting with the West Sea Gastrodon since it's the one you get access to first and I'd like it to be a usable part of my team from the start, but I'm completely open to switching to the East Sea one once it becomes accessable.
Mismagius is a good Pokemon to use against normal and fighting types, and you will fight a lot of fighting types (not to mention it can learn psybeam).
Seeing the teams in the type coverage chart makes me wonder what the worst type for a playthrough would be based off of what your opponents are supper effective against.
Poison is pretty awful in Sinnoh. Team Galactic members mainly use Steel and Poison types, there’s Roark, Fantina, Byron, Bertha, Lucian, most of Cynthia’s team and a smattering of onesies and twosies like Wake’s Quagsire, Maylene’s Lucario, etc.
@@D4VID9724 offensively anyway. Defensively, it’s normally decent when paired with another type, but Sinnoh is quite unkind with the wide number of steel, poison, ground and psychic types.
My team for these games is gonna be one that I've looked forward to planning out for a while. Basically, I want only dual-type pokemon, and every team member needs to share a type with another member, like a chain. To make things more interesting, I've also decided to never have more than two instances of a type. Here it is: Infernape - Close Combat - Flare Blitz - U-Turn - Rock Slide Medicham - Zen Headbutt - Drain Punch - Thunder Punch - Ice Punch Gardevoir - Moonblast - Psychic - Thunderbolt - Shadow Ball Togekiss - Air Slash - Aura Sphere - Dazzling Gleam - Flamethrower Gliscor - Poison Jab - Acrobatics - Earthquake - X-Scissor Garchomp - Dragon Claw - Earthquake - Crunch - Rock Slide The only type that three of them are weak to, ice, is countered by Infernape and Medicham. Overall, I'm proud of this team. It took a while to make, but I think that it's pretty impressive considering the rather constrictive rules I gave myself.
@@Steven-tc4vl ah okay yeh just a heads up then u may have to adjust ur team as u don’t get access to eevee or growlithe/arcanine till after u get the national dex which without trading u can’t do until u have completed the main game
Overall, and not worrying about defense, the team is strong, the Pokémon are strong, but you don’t have offensive stab for ground and psychic, both of which have elite four, and you don’t fair well defensively well against ice and ground,I recommend switching out staraptor for weavile,it’s not weak to Ice or ground, which sure, eliminates an immunity for stab coverage, but that would give you a stab súper effective the two types that you don’t have stab for, that would fix a lot of problems, mainly since having staraptor and togekiss in the same team is redundant unless you worry about backup,
Michael: Tell me your teams so I can review them Community: Ok, here you go! Michael: Your teams are trash Community: Fine, what's your team then Michael: * gulp * I... I um... Haven't decided yet😅
Infernape, Luxray, and Staraptor are the ones I keep in my party if it is a Sinnoh game. In my opinion I think Infernape, Luxray and Staraptor are a great trio because they look badass
i love how mikey didn't even mention the robbery when grunty boy stole the deodorant and instead went on to remind him about his shirt like they were an old married couple
STAB is same stat attack bonus. If a bidoof uses tackle and a chimchar uses tackle, bidoof may deal more damage as bidoof is normal and tackle is normal too and so it gets stab
I went rare spawn grand underground hunting a few days ago and since I’m pretty new to the pokemon community, I didn’t know how good togekiss was! I’m currently in the elite four (I died from Bertha and my switch shut down during my rematch, right before the psychic member) and debating on fixing my team so watching this and the thoughts on it is very helpful ^^
It seems pretty likely that you can get either the platinum evolutions or the items for them in the underground. So, this will be my team: Torterra Electivire Magmortar Togekiss Floatzel Weavile
He could, but that has two problems. One is that it doesn't include a starter, so that may be more difficult. Two is that his team in that video has Pokemon that can only be obtained past the second Gym at the least. I don't think Mikey wants to endure until the second Gym without any endgame team members and past the sixth Gym without a team of at least four or five.
regarding the razor claw, if using diamond and pearl for location of razor claw, you can theoretically get it from route 224, and victory road as a one time only, or if you want multiple of them you can get them from battle park according to bulbapedia.
My team: Tortera: The Sinnoh Starter that used to be my favorite of the three (it became Infernape) but maybe if I pick it for this game it might go back to being my favorite. Drifblim: I always like the roles this Pokémon would have in the games, like Special encounters in the games and Fast Travels in spin-off’s and I it to have a role on my team as well. Loupany: Here’s a Loupany?! I like this Pokémon’s Mega and it can learn fighting move and I used one in USUM and I wanna use it In a Sinnoh. (And also because if there’s Mega Evolution) Bronzong: I’ve never used this Pokémon but it looks interesting + Levitate is great for it. (I could swap this for Mangazone however) Azamarill: I want both a Water and a Fairy Type on my team and this PikaBlue thing is way do it + Huge Power. Weavile: …… I love Weaviles design plus I want a Dark type and a Ice type.
The team I beat the league with was: Willow(tortera) Ability:overgrowth Moves: Earthquake Bullet seed Leaf storm Victory(luxray) Ability:intimidate Moves: Thunderbolt Volt switch Thief Crunch Mismagius (escape) Ability:levitate Moves: Dazzling gleam Shadow ball Destiny bond Psychic Birb(togekiss) Ability:serene grace Moves: Air slash Dazzling gleam Psychic Double team Anima(lucario) Ability:steadfast Moves: Aura sphere Close combat Meteor mash Psychic Chaos(palkia) Ability:pressure Moves: Spatial rend Surf Ancient power Dragon claw
Yes but as a fairy type in later games, it is also weak to steel so while it will most definately outspeed most, if not all steel types, if it get paralysed for a turn or misses or is confused or it against something with study of anything that can prevent it from OHKOing it's probably gunna get OHKO'd right back against steels... I know it's pretty tanky but steel types can hit like a truck. Also a lot of steel types can also learn rock moves which it is also weak too.
@@Pinecrystal Do you mean why I mentioned it with the steel types? It's coz a lot of steel types moves, at least in the games I've played, tend to be learnt at pretty high levels so they're less of a threat at earlier levels, however rock type moves are pretty common not only on rock types but on steel types, ground types, fighting types and so on. I dunno if the switch games changed that and had more early level steel moves, if they have then just ignore me mentioning rock types.
Wow! A lot of these teams are so interesting, filled with many unique and great pokemon! The team I think I will go for is: Infernape, Togekiss, Gastrodon, Magnezone, Weavile and Garchomp.
My team has got to include my favorite three fire types: drifblim, lopunny, and steelix. Best fire types out there in my opinion. For those who don’t get it, check flint’s diamond and pearl team
They aren't even fire types- oh I didn't read the part about flint's Diamond And Pearl Team, which is horrible just 2 true fire types and lemme guess those 3 are on there
We all know what team to use. James the Empoleon Ambush the Shiny Crobat Tether the Tangrowth Gallant the Gallade Korg the Shiny Golem Devios the Weavile Totally came up with this team all by myself, and is definately not the one he used in his April Fool's video
By god! You have learned me that Marriland was a thing! Amazing! What will my team will be...Idk. I'm more into favourites...If I do use some sort of randomizer, or if it is possible to have it in game, then my team would be: -Static, The Pikachu (Must use the mascot, obviously) -Luke, The Lucario (A Star Wars joke. But a fitting name) -Grace, The Gardevoir (I do need to add at least a girl in the team) -Kasai, The Charizard (Best Kanto starter, change my mind) -Hawkshot, The Decidueye (he looks cool. I like Incineroar, but Decidueye looks cooler) -Neon, The Umbreon.(gotta have a Dark Type at least)
i love coming back to this video and seeing how many people wanted togekiss....not being able to find out cynthias garchomp knew poison jab until it was toooo late XD
2:20 7/10, I made it in the video! Thanks Mikey for viewing my team, I need to do something about psychic and ghost types. I’ll probably swap out staraptor for honchkrow.
Mikey: Spirittomb is hopefully going to be easier to get in bdsp Spirittomb: No, but you can have fun suffering while you find my bottom half, and fail to dig it out :D
I just finished shining pearl version and my hall of fame team was infernape, palkia, drapion, weavile, luxray, and staraptor. PS despite weavile being 2 levels higher than Cynthia’s garchomp it still failed to outspeed it until I used icy wind to lower its speed
This video helped me decide on my team Infernape, Togekiss, Gliscore, Magnazone, Weavile and Ambipom (because Ambipom is one of my favorite pokemon and my favorite normal type Pokemon after Eevee Ambipom is underrated)
My team is gonna be quite flexible, the only solid members on my team are Gallade and Luxray, everything else is fair game (Leafeon and Lucario will probably be used though)

I mean for all it’s worth…I truly didn’t even think about Garchomp when adding Froslass to the team. But I’m glad to know I might have inspired Mikey to use one as well! The new Garchomp killer! Mine will be named Yuki: Based on the first part of Froslass’s Japanese name, “Yukimenoko” meaning “Snow”, and Yuki from Fruits Basket❄️
Enjoy BDSP everyone! Happy playing

Honestly If I get one of the games I think I might use that team.
It's a very good team.
Lucky Bas- i mean Bisharp.I have a lucky Bisharp.

That could be a fun challenge
Ice
Poison is pretty awful in Sinnoh. Team Galactic members mainly use Steel and Poison types, there’s Roark, Fantina, Byron, Bertha, Lucian, most of Cynthia’s team and a smattering of onesies and twosies like Wake’s Quagsire, Maylene’s Lucario, etc.
@@yorecf9641 Forgot about how fucking garbage Poison was before gen 6

My team for these games is gonna be one that I've looked forward to planning out for a while. Basically, I want only dual-type pokemon, and every team member needs to share a type with another member, like a chain. To make things more interesting, I've also decided to never have more than two instances of a type. Here it is:
Infernape
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz
- U-Turn
- Rock Slide
Medicham
- Zen Headbutt
- Drain Punch
- Thunder Punch
- Ice Punch
Gardevoir
- Moonblast
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
Togekiss
- Air Slash
- Aura Sphere
- Dazzling Gleam
- Flamethrower
Gliscor
- Poison Jab
- Acrobatics
- Earthquake
- X-Scissor
Garchomp
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Rock Slide
The only type that three of them are weak to, ice, is countered by Infernape and Medicham. Overall, I'm proud of this team. It took a while to make, but I think that it's pretty impressive considering the rather constrictive rules I gave myself.

I have an insanely original idea: infernape, luxray, staraptor, garchomp, lucario, togekiss. Wow nobody has ever used that.
ikr
So original
Overall, and not worrying about defense, the team is strong, the Pokémon are strong, but you don’t have offensive stab for ground and psychic, both of which have elite four, and you don’t fair well defensively well against ice and ground,I recommend switching out staraptor for weavile,it’s not weak to Ice or ground, which sure, eliminates an immunity for stab coverage, but that would give you a stab súper effective the two types that you don’t have stab for, that would fix a lot of problems, mainly since having staraptor and togekiss in the same team is redundant unless you worry about backup,
I used Floatzel instead of togekiss, which is even more original, I know. I’m a genius.
I used Gastreodon insted of folatzel!

Togekiss can learn Aura Sphere, which can crush the steel types, especially since Togekiss is fast and a great Special Attacker.
