    NOTE:
    I "Flip" RVs... Travel Trailers etc... for the last 30 years...
    I have found out... I can dye or paint my FABRIC... Curtains etc to match my decor with...
    the WalMart EXTERIOR Acrylic HOUSE Paint... and it does NOT wash out...
    I use a big plastic tube... 80% Water to 20% to the house paint (I mix the paint in the water really well before adding the FABRIC... it come out Beautiful... I let it DRY in the SUN... Rinse it real well outside .. then wash it (without soap) in the washer with lots of fabric softener... It comes out very soft... and it works every time...

    Tile Grout Pens, from Shein & Temu work very well & Not just on Tiles/Grout. They are water based, but waterproof when dry - I use them for painting my Fishing Floats (Red & Black) Available in other colours also, like Yellow, Green, blue & Metallic Silver.

      You’re best bet is to use acrylic as it’s your first layer over the acrylic gesso. Oil does fine over acrylic paint pens. Oil pens will work as well as oil over oil works, but you might find that you have better luck with the acrylic. Hope this helps. Have fun and stay inspired 🤙🏼

    • @WelzieArt
      @WelzieArt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Enamel paint will hold up longer than water based but house paint is water based and hold up great. Higher quality paint will last longer. House paint won’t need any sealer but you can add a clear acrylic sealer on it if you like. I always recommend doing some experimenting first. Every paint seems to react differently with sealer or paint pens.

    Thank you for the video. Starting to make earrings and jewelry out of acrylic, plastics, and wood. Mostly with a laser engraver doing the engraving and cuts. It was recommended to me by Michael's employee to use oil based coloring pen to color a couple things on red acrylic. But was looking for more authoritative guidance as I start down this road. I did use the oil based paint pen and it worked (where I couldn't get the acrylic pen to actually laydown well at all). The one thing I noticed was that the oil based pen coloring seemed to stay wet forever, I am sure I put too much on but do you have a technique trick for drying?

    • @WelzieArt
      @WelzieArt  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oil based is the call for plastics. If you need it to dry quicker use a hair dryer or heat gun. Oil based pens are generally glossy. That’s why it looks wet. Good luck and stay inspired 🤙🏼

    • @WelzieArt

      Acrylic will work on skateboards. The level of quality will be base on how well the acrylic sticks. Is the skateboard sanded? Does it have a varnish over the wood. Does it have a decal? If what your drawing on is oil based then you should use oil based marker. varnish or oil based ink on the design will not allow acrylic to adhere very well. Try out a little on a piece of the board and see if works.

    Making a giant “ruler” for some children’s heights:

    Oil paints will work under acrylic, but you have let them cure. This could take upwards of a week. They can cure faster under a heat gun or blow dryer.
    Over acrylic is where they really shine. They tend to desaturated acrylic pigments. I use this in miniture painting to achieve a "grim dark" astatic.

    • @WelzieArt
      @WelzieArt  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s going to be hard for the pen not to transfer to the resin you pour in. You’ll have better luck with an oil based pen for sure. Acrylic won’t want to stick to the mold surface. I would recommend using oil on your mold surface, let completely dry, then apply your mold release being very generous over the pen marked area. I can’t guarantee this will work but it will be less likely to fail than acrylic. Best bet is to figure out how to not to mark up your mold with anything. Good luck. Are using poly with MEK catalyst or Uv cure on Posca color?

      I use poly with MEK. But I have used UV cure on posca. I haven’t had many problems with both.

    Hi! The oil based Can be use on mirror , but can I erase/clean my mirror drawings with alcohol or with something ?

    • @WelzieArt
      @WelzieArt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to draw on a mirror but be able to erase I would recommend using an acrylic paint marker. You can erase really easy with a flat razor blade. The paint will come right off. No scratches to the mirror if the blade is sharp, clean and flat against the surface. Oil paint markers will be a lot harder to get off if you can get it all off at all.
      Good luck. Stay inspired 🤙🏼

    My white oil based sharpie paint pen doesn't seem to work on paper, it dries in a way that looks more like a whipped stain then an intentional stroke or dot. Am I doing something wrong or do they not work on paper?

    • @WelzieArt
      @WelzieArt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a hard time with oil based sharpies on paper. They tend to just pull up the paper into the tip. A glossy paper might work better but again I don’t really do the oil on paper. I don’t think you’re doing something wrong it’s just white paint pen on white paper is a tough mix. Then add the oil based factor and well, problems. Oil works great on many surfaces and last a long time, but they won’t be your best friend with paper products. Keep experimenting, have fun and stay inspired. You’ll find something that works for you.

      @@WelzieArt Thanks for the tip, I guess I'll have to get a new pen or find another way to draw it on. Thanks again!

    Which one will suit on paper

      Both will work on paper but I would recommend acrylic over oil if working on paper.

    Hey Welzie, Thanks for the video! Would Acrylic be alright on my PU boards for a while without clear coating it? (I was thinking it be nice if I could wipe it off with alcohol or something in the future)
    Thanks,

      Acrylic will work. It’s what I use. I recommend clear coat or it will rub off in the surf. In the future you can sand off the artwork if needed.
      Stay inspired! Aloha 🤙🏼
