I love this community… my art channels tend to be a little “supply snobby”… and tho I have plenty PLENTYYYY of the expensive supplies (Copics, Derwent, Caran d’Ache, expensive watercolour brands, etc), I’m super in love with my Crayola (I adore my Crayola 100 + COTW pencils and 100 SuperTips ❤) and Sharpie supplies too… so much so that I’ve created awesome colourful holders so I can leave them out of my desks and bask in their pretty rainbow loveliness … so I love videos that champion them as great supplies too
Sharpies are the underdogs of markers. Affordable. Very good quality for the price. Good seeing someone finally acknowledged these markers for what they are. For artists that know that better materials dont make better art.
I never used to like Sharpies - I was disappointed in how fast they rubbed off when I used them to label things like plastic tub lids (as other kinds of pen wouldn’t work), but that was quite a while ago. I got the two pack of the new acrylic pens today as I was curious but didn’t want to potentially lose money if I didn’t like them, but I do love them! So smooth and vibrant, and they seem to layer pretty well.
Try making a dotted background with the bullet tips. They make perfect tiny polka dots! I’ve had these for about two months now and they’re still going strong. Totally in love with them. 💜
To help prevent washi tape, masking tape etc from sticking, I always stick them onto fabric first so they’re not as sticky/get fibers stuck, I use watercolor paper, so it’s noticeable when the tape rips pieces off the paper, this trick has worked well for me for years
First time viewer and it’s an instant subscriber situation. This review was absolutely wonderfully informative and truly inspirational. Your art is effortlessly beautiful by the way. Crisp colors and flowing line weight!!!!! Thank you!
I was really impressed with the quality of these markers when I tried them. I really hope they add more colors as the selection right now is a little too limiting for regular use.
I came across this video, immediately went out and bought both sets of Sharpie’s and have fallen in love! Your encouragement to find supplies that make you happy and want to play regardless of cost has really resonated with me. I’m subscribed to your channel and feeling so excited about being creative-thank you! 😃
I ran out and bought these pens after this video! I love the colors, they are awesome on white and black paper! I bought your book, too! You’ve given me a lot of good ideas, thanks for this channel! 🥰❤
I get that she can’t reply to every comment but you’d think one like this she would at least like it. I see she replied to comments a month ago but this was two months ago, so right after the video went up?
Never a true marker style girl, I have fallen head over heels for THESE!!! No priming, no breakdown of tip to start them, no horizontal storage, they're creamy, vibrant, opaque and just an overall JOY to work with!!! ❤❤❤ I hope they expand the color choices and nib styles of this line and soon!!! As a mixed media artist, for mark making and detail work, they currently rank #1 on my hit list, knocking POSCA down a peg. Way to go Sharpie!!! ❤😊❤
I just bought the bullet tip ones today. I have this wood sign kit for about 3 years my daughter gave to me for Christmas. I am not good painting with acrylic paints and brush, get it everywhere it’s not supposed to be. Saw these and thought I wonder how they wood work. Well I so far I am impressed they make painting wood cutouts so easy. I just wished they had a brown in the colors but I will make do.
Found these today at Dollar General, 4 bucks for a dual pack of black and white bullet tip. Have yet to use em but excited..mainly wanted a while for use with WC but may get other colors as I play around
Bought them a couple weeks ago and 5/12 of them ran out of ink. Besides that, they’re great! I called Sharpie and they’re giving me a free replacement!
It's mind blowing 🤯, the sharpie doe bleed through and their so vibrant! Thanks for the review. 😊 I watches this because you seemed to be doing more in your journal which didn't seem extremely thick like watercolor 120 lb paper. Now I know for sure I want those! 🤗❤️👍🏽💯
I just got the Sharpie brush creative markers yesterday. I'll have to try the bullet tip now also. I drew a star and a flower on my nylon shell backpack with the brush makers. I checked the Sharpie website and they recommend using their permanent markers for fabric versus these markers, but I did want to try them on something besides paper. Thanks for the review.
If you'd be interested, compared the the bullet tip shown in video, how do the brush tips perform? I dont know which to pick better for general coloring, compared to the rainbows made above ^^
I was one that said I didn’t like these as well because of the tip. I get that they would be good for lettering, but if you’re trying to do artwork with them, I don’t like them quite as much as Poscas. I guess it depends what you’re using them for. 🤷♀️
Hi Jenny! Nice to “meet” you! Haha! I love your reviews! I absolutely agree with you! Because they are so soft, it feels like it will wear down quickly if you’re doing coloring are drawing. You couldn’t press as firmly as you could with the hard tip of posca. It’s such a specific type of tip that can do hand lettering like these ones. As I’ve been using these and the brush tips, I’ve noticed I prefer to color and do my backgrounds with the brush tips and the lettering with the bullet tips. It seems like it should be the opposite!
Hi, absolutely love bullet tip markers. They are the best of both worlds. in someone who uses brush art pens all the time. They are just their own thing really, I highly recommend prisma color bullet markers too. Unfortunately, they are very pricey though, I want to say $50 for 12 or something. I like this paint esk type application ☺️
I have something very similar to this.. The only problem is that the colours are kinda dull and they tend to loose their colour pretty fast, but overall I love them!! These types of markers are real "GEMS" as you said!! They not only look pretty but also do what we want them to do! BTW Those blobs pages were amazing! I can't explain how much fun I feel when I do it! Thank You! :)
Oh, I ordered the brush and bullet creative markers and the stained after watching your first creative marker video. I love all of the pens. I’ve also used the bullet tip in an adult coloring book. I just wish there were more colors. I have had the Posca paint pens for years, but I have so much fun with the sharpies!
I've never liked sharpies generally, as an electrician, commercial and industrial- they are great because they mark anything. But they're always an alcohol based marker and they always bleed through everything. But I will buy a set of these to support a good product. I'm gonna take your word for it.
I'm so glad I watched this video (as if there is a video, made by you, I don't love watching :-))))! And especially since I received an offer to buy Sharpie Creative Bullet tip set in my email by a local supplier almost immediately after that. What??? Sharpie Stained is impossible to find in Bulgaria and almost impossible to find in Europe (or at least as far as my shopping opportunities go), so I watched the video somewhat regretting I'd never will be able to buy this. But now I have them and they are exactly as wonderful as your review presents them. A real gem and I can't wait to try them on different surfaces.
I used shampoo and conditioner on one of my wooden paintings and not only did it give an amazing smell but it made it better with the colours it made them brighter(u put some on and then u wipe it with ur paint brush then u wipe it off with a tissue
Liked and subbed ❤❤ Use a hairdryer or heat gun on the tape when removing it. The heat melts the sticky stuff and makes the tape peel off like butter, with never any damage to the paper!!

I won’t be trying these because I don’t like bright, saturated colors. I bought a primary set of the Karin markers and while I love the way they work, I HATE the bright colors. It depends on the look you want! When I do stripes right next to each other, sometimes the paint blends slightly if it wasn’t dry. However, the paint actually dries really fast! I’ve been surprised! So usually by the time I’m doing the next stripe, it’s already dry!

I have the karin decobrush markers, but for some reason i have issues with the pens drying up and ink issues, which i cant figure out. So, would these be like a sturdier or cheaper replacement for those? Also, thank you so much for these review videos, they're really useful and necessary and you're so talented. Thank you for helping me start my hand lettering journey/
I use the brush tips ones more for backgrounds and the bullet tip ones more for hand lettering! So it depends on what I'm using them for! They're both great!
Add the tombow fudenosuke hard tip calligraphy pens to your list. They are flexible with excellent control and archival, waterproof and alcohol resistant once dry, and come in several colours.
Have you tried MALA markers from IKEA? They have the same tip as Crayola markers, but sturdier. You don't have to twist the marker all the time to achieve thin upstrokes.
Ok, you influenced me... I just bought these bullet tip Sharpie creative markers and I frickn' LOVe them! I thought of you when I put them in my cart and then again while I was playing around with them. I can see why you gushed over these!! I played with them in my notebook alongside my cheaper acrylic markers and the comparison was night and day. I THOUGHT I liked my cheapies but NOPE. NO COMPARISON. These Sharpies are sooooooo juicy! Yes, please make more colors, Sharpie!!!!! I haven't compared them to my Karin pigment pens/markers yet but I definitely do not regret thus purchase. 🎉😅 @ensigninsights
Question - will the tops stay on while you are writing. The last sharpie felt tips I ordered, the top kept falling off and I had to quit using them because I spent way to much time chasing the top which kept falling off.
Are these waterproof and Permanent they don't bleed threw i need to paint a faded royal blue new era hat but im tripping i might ruin it and also it rains alot were im from so if paint drips when im wearing it be bad buisness in public I need a royal blue pen thats leaning more towards the darker side if that make sense my royal blue hat it looks like a medium dark blue color ?

I totally agree! They should do it!
Try making a dotted background with the bullet tips. They make perfect tiny polka dots! I’ve had these for about two months now and they’re still going strong. Totally in love with them. 💜

I've also used trick occasionally! Not ever needed it for washi tapes but definitely used it for regular tape I didn't want to stay permanently.

Love both Sharpies. To speed up drying a bit faster, can you use a small blower dryer?
You probably could! These actually dry pretty quick though! I don’t know if you’d need it.

Do you need to wait for them to dry before layering different colours and be careful about putting down colours right next to each other?

It’s funny you asked! I actually have the Sailor brush pens in my pile of waiting to be reviewed! So hopefully soon!
Do you have a demo on thinner paper? Only because I trust you with pen tests.
It doesn’t bleed through thinner paper! It does warp it quite a bit though.
