I think some flint and tinder waxed jackets may slightly vary in color from year to year. I got a waxed rancher jacket in field tan and the color is different than my waxed trucker that is also in field tan. The inside tag is also different than some i've seen on youtube reviews. Still really nice jackets regardless.
@@roadtripthrifts any garment will very slightly in color due to the dye lot. Add in the fact that it is waxed post being dyed and that adds another variant to the shade. They will all be very similar, but all different. And they really adds to the great look of FNT Waxed jackets. My Rancher and my Waxed Trucker are both field tan. And the Rancher is lighter.
Just a heads up, a second version of the flannel lined jackets do have flannel lining on the front inside panel of the pocket. I received two different jackets from huckberry one with and one without and emailed them about it. Returned the one without and ordered another and it had the pocket lining, it’s much nicer to have IMO.
This is stellar news! I will totally be emailing my rep at Huckberry today to ask him if that is a new change that is going to be implemented and if so, I think I need to get myself one. Because that is my favorite jacket of the three.
@@jeffgrantMEDIA I would also, I should say- I emailed them *after* I rolled the dice and bought a second small to try (the first was still in the return window) it did arrive with the lining and customer service later confirmed of the revision.
I have asked my rep, but I think he is swamped this time of year. Would you be able to send me a picture of your flannel lined version with lined pockets? I am going to try and shoot my waxed trucker shoot out this week. And I would like to include that bit of info in my video. If you can, email me the picture at jeffgrantMEDIA@gmail.com and include how you would like to be credited. Real name, IG, YT I would really appreciate it.
I just ordered this and am kind of disappointed it doesn’t look brown in your video, but I don’t hate it. It was $100 off. Unless they’ve updated the color, their website definitely shows brown. I would imagine it will look more earthly as it patinas.
@@jamesn7156 I’m glad you dig the color. I’m sure everyone of them will vary slightly in color and shade. You are not only working with different dye lots, you are working with different wax every time as well.
I think they are. I now have proof that the flannel line also has line pockets. Only on the knuckle side, but at least that’s a start. And my flannel lined that is about a year old does not have line pockets. So FNT must be listening and improving their jackets!
I didn't have that problem. I do wear my cuffs unbuttoned, so that may allow them to lay a little farther from my watch face. But this is a great point, thank you for sharing it.
If you could only pick one of the two would you choose the wool lined or the flannel lined? And how often have you waxed (or have you ever) waxed your waxed trucker jackets?
I am going to film a video on all 3 versions of this jacket. I will choose the flannel as my personal l favorite. And that would be the one I wood choose if I had to choose one. I find it to be the most versatile. I have not re-waxed any of my jackets yet. My oldest jacket is about a year old. They seem to need some touch ups after about 3 years depending on how much use they get. So probably next year, I will re-wax my flannel lined.
When you wore the wool with a hoody, did it feel restricting when driving while you had it buttoned up? Looking to get the wool lined and unsure if I should size up as my flannel lined feels tight when wearing a sweater and driving
I am wearing a size medium, I always forget to mention that in my videos. I did not feel restricted wearing a medium weight hoodie, or my 10-year hoodie. The slightly oversized feel of the wool version gave me the room I needed to get the extra layers under the jacket.
@@jeffgrantMEDIA thank you so much for the swift reply. With that information I think I’ll stick to my XL size. Always a gamble when ordering online haha
It would depends on the temps you see. Over mid 60’s would probably be to warm for the wool lined. You might be better off with the flannel lined for that time of year.
@@PyroClit I am going to do a shoot out between all three waxed trucker versions. I am going to choose flannel lined as my personal winner. I find it to be the most versatile of the 3. I have worn it comfortably in the high 30’s f. And worn it into the mid 80’s f. With some layers I can wear it in colder conditions. Onion has to pick 1, I would get a flannel lined version.
What other gear would you like to see reviews of?

I would guess each batch would have a different shade. The way it absorbs the wax will darken it. And each portion of material will react differently.
@@jeffgrantMEDIAit came and it’s nice. Mine looks browner than your’s, but it is a very muted brown.

Interesting... the lined pockets must be new. I bought my wool-lined jacket about a year ago and mine are unlined.

Don’t forget the clicking of your watch face against the cuff button. I love my flannel-lined jacket, but that clicking can get a bit annoying.
