- So you finally stopped eyeballing Arma 3 and decided that this might be the right game for you. Sit back and relax while I go over the Single Player, Multiplayer, Multiplayer Game Modes , Performance, Community, Pros and Cons of this game that I've sunk about 500 Hours in to as of making this video.

Kick ass game. I just recently made the jump from console to PC (less than a week! as of Oct. 4, 2017) And Arma III looks like it's gonna be the first Steam game I buy. The first multiplayer mode you mentioned is right up my ally, as I prefer PvE to PvP.

I just bought this game my god so many keys you have to learn ya I am late to the game. There is so much going on in this game I am so lost but it’s really fun.

ArmA is my personal favorite game, i would recommend it however not to someone who prefers extremely fast and unrealistic games like COD, opposite to many other FPS shooters arma can be heavily based around the cooperation between players and tactics, although to enjoy the game the most you should treat it a bit like a half simulator half game. I have had arma for many years and gained around 1600+ hours and i am still discovering new interesting servers, game types and aspects.
with the optimization of arma however, its a bit odd, with my old pc i could run it around 25-40 fps on Medium graphics with a mid range computer for 2 years ago, now with a mid range computer as of todays standards, i can get up to 50-60+ fps on Ultra graphics.

You never mentioned Mods which is what I am most curious about. I see these DayZ and exile modes but you did not seem to cover any of that. What is a video that I can checkout that actually talks about mods and how they work?
I'm sorry, I may have misheard, but did you say 1000 km? Like 1000 km^2? If I remember correctly, Altis is 270 km^2....And it is the biggest, so 1000 is not close to even all vanilla maps together. Otherwise, great video, mate.

Arma 4 won't be coming out anytime soon. Bohemia interactive the studio that makes Arma is working on a different title at the moment and not much news has been released. So I would pick up Arma 3 when it comes to the expansions I honestly would just recommend buying them as you play. Apex would be the one that gives you the most content compared to all the other DLCs. Arma is mostly processor heavy and loading it onto an SSD helps. I rigged when I bought it was probably between $1,200 to $1,500. If you really want I can add everything up and lest off all the parts in my machine in another comment. I think you and your friends and have a good time just have to make sure that all your rigs can handle it I remember steam has a 2 hour return policy if the game doesn't run well

My last PC I built is an i5 2500K+ w/16 GB DDR3, an ATI 6780 2GB GPU, a 256 GB SSD, & Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. what's the single player like? can I walk around and explore the huge map by myself? like maybe get ambushed by ai or take some bases out?
It's empty by default. You can make your own missions, play a campaign, or play user created missions on any of the 3 main maps though. The biggest map (altis) is one of the biggest maps in any video game ever, but don't think of it as a traditional open world. There aren't Easter eggs or hidden missions or any of that.
Wish they'd release a multi core support patch. It runs fine on my PC but think of how much better it would run using all them cores, multiple cores, cores upon cores.
Let's just keep our fingers crossed that they choose an engine with good multi core support when they decide to put Arma 4 into development. As much as I'd love a patch that would introduce Multicore Support and allow for more people to play I have a strong feeling it would be impossible to do without completely recreating the engine.

Can you play this game with just the vanila version ? Or do you need the dlc's to get in most servers?
You can play Vanilla. The DLC just allows you to use a larger range of weapons and vehicles. If you don't have the DLC you just won't be able to use those items when in a server.

For me the thing that turns me off from multiplayer is lack of firstperson only pvp servers. Not big fan of 3rd person in pvp since you can see clearly over or around the cover. Takes away the tactical element of suppression in most cases. But hey, good review!

I'm currently 13 years old and i have been eyeballin ArmA 3 for almost 3 years now should either buy it or not. and i'm looking for advice for me should i buy it or not also i live in Thailand so it kinda expensive to me (THB)
I got kinda worried when you said processor pulled the weight, but i should be fine running a Ryzen 5 3600 6-core clocked at 4.2ghz with an RTX 2070 GPU and 16GB of RAM
You've got plenty of power behind that Rig to play Arma. Don't stress and I hope you have fun when you decide to pick it up
@@ThoseAwkwardGamers I picked it up on Humble Bundle for $20 with the Apex DLC and Arma 2 Gold Edition, got it installing now, i can't wait to give it a try, i played Arma 2 on my old potato PC but it struggled to hit 20fps on lowest settings so it wasn't very enjoyable, i just recently built the new rig, as in last Monday lol, and my very first thought was "i bet this thing can run Arma" and when my friend told me about the bundle deal i was right on it, so i came here to see how good Arma 3 looks and now I'm just sitting here hyped out of my skull to play it when it's done downloading

ARMA 3 is a game that you can use to make games. And that's without even going multiplayer.
I just picked it up toghter with my friend Who played alone for 45 mins while I had problems with Installing Battle eye. He refunded it. It luckily was not a loss since it was steam summer sale for 9.51 euros. 67% discount haha. Im gonna keep it I think.
It's a steal for the price right now. Battle eye can be a pain at times so I'm not surprised. If he ever wanted to give it another go I'm sure their are support posts online of other people who experienced the same issue. Enjoy the game though and go kick some butt!

Can someone tell me how long a round of, for example, king of the hill takes place? Does it run forever, or is it over at some point? I heard something about arma 3 „sessions“ that last for about 7-8 hours, and I only have time for 2 or 3 a day 😂
I'd say 1-4 hours. It just depends on how many players in the server. The points set by the admins. Different game modes will take wildly different time frames. 7-8 Hours is a server with very little activity. Some do operations like a clan and that can take all day or some modes like Escape From (insert map) can take all day if people keep failing or can't find the extraction point.

Would you recommend this game for staring out in pc shooting games? Or too hard? Just switching from console.
I'd say Arma is the most difficult shooter you could play on PC. If you're trying to tackle the difficulty first you can pick it up and you'd be ready for what ever got thrown at you. Otherwise I'd suggest checking out my Rising Storm Vietnam video for a bit easier shooter. Rainbow Six Siege has controller support. I've really enjoyed Hell Let Loose lately. Red Orchestra is also a great PC starter. Insurgency Sandstorm is good too.

No not at all. DLC are legitimate add on's. They give you new Vehicles, Islands and Weapons. It feels more like minor changes since most of online is based around the core content of the game. Nice Tre Cool icon btw.

Altis life does not come with the base game and is a mod. However if you join an Altis life server from the server browser Arma will automatically download the files that it needs to play Altis life. I hope that helped answer your question. Thanks for checking out the video.

If you believe you'd get a lot of playtime out of it for Altis Life then do it. But I'd recommend watching a live stream of someone playing Altis life versus just highlights. In Altis Life there are a lot of dull in between moments and a bit of confusion at the beginning when you're trying to understand the ropes.
You missed the whole eden editor, creators perspective. Which take 70% of my playtime.

I bought it on sale for $9 to bad what they dont advertise is most of the game is behind pay walls for "dlc". They say its dlc but when its 75% of the game kinda feels like it shouldn't be dlc.
So my CPU is a Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-7100 CPU @ 3.90GHz, and my grapics card is a Geforce GTX 1050 Ti.
Will I be able to play the game with a least 60 frames on somewhere desent grapics?
With this game the only thing that will give you a solid 60fps consistently is going to be an i7. I think you'd stay above 30 however. Sorry for the delay and I hope it helps

Squad is a great alternative that I'd suggest checking out. Insurgency Sandstorm is pretty good too but still a work in progress.

My processor is a i7 7700 (non K), is it good enough to deliver solid performance in this game?
We would also need to Know your GPU but all the footage for this video was done with a i7 6700K and a 980 ti. Which both are pretty old. I would imagine you having very little to no issues.

Yes, you'll want more ram, and the game on an SSD, and a better CPU eventually.

How easy is it for new players to jump into it? The main reason that I'm not buying it atm is cause I don't want to be seen as the noob with nobody to play with.
Super late comment but here is the answer. Arma 3 is a super complex game and most people will be more than happy to guide you. If you're not sure about a button just ask. The Arma community is filled with many people who want to do nothing but help others and get more people to play the game.

Well with the release of 3rd Gen Ryzen processors and Nvidia Supers prices for hardware are finally going down. Might be worth saving up to upgrade soon since so many things are getting price reductions.

Unfortunately it's only for PC. The hardware required to run the game and all its calculations plus the engine they use would make a console struggle.
One of the Best game of the history.
A lot came out of Arma 3's release and I look forward to further installments in their series.

Jwl Hell yeah, it's called Wasteland, I'll be doing a video covering that mode. One of the first Multiplayer modes I played when I first got Arma. There are tons of Survival based mods too. Check out Exile and Breaking Point

There are some great mil sim games and servers on Arma. I unfortunately at the time did not partake in too many of the tactical skirmish servers that are around. But everytime I see clips of their cooperation I'm blown away.
My frienda complain that you need apex for multiplayer should i get apex?
Apex is an expansion that some servers use. It gives you another island, new weapons, a new faction and new vehicles. You don't need it to play online but I would suggest getting Apex if you plan on trying different game modes out. If you enjoy the game after a few hours pick it up. It will be worth it.
