Crazy how that happens.
Are people not paying attention? It's going to get worse and worse every year until in 11 years time we have zero choice left.

I suppose it's for the kind of buyer who has enough money to spend on such a car, but doesn't actually know what a turbo is - only that fast cars seem to have them. The kind of person who would buy an EV, I suppose.
There’s always a loophole. In the USMerica some car companies fitted extra seats to put certain vehicles into a different category to avoid importing restrictions and various tariffs and taxes. In fact the whole obsession with large SUVs is due to similar government idiotic regulations making large SUVs a better and cheaper option to a sedan. So what’s the loophole here? Possibly (especially if you have enough money for one of those things in the first place ) is to find a country that doesn’t have all the nonsense and start a small business there, establish an on paper residence, buy and register to the company whatever vehicle you want and then drive it home. The hard part is finding a country that values investment over idiotic ideology.
When it comes to Europe, this country is Andorra. Only 4 % of VAT, no restrictions or tariffs. On paper, the car belongs to a shady company (that you own) on which you can register as many cars as you want. Which means none of them can be seized by any government.

I was wondering whether you could research a bit on the weights of EV's as I've heard that existing carpark buildings might not be up to carrying the extra weight of EV's if there were to be larger quantities parked in them???. On a side issue - I was driving home in my Toyota Hiace last week & experienced extreme winds along the way. These wind gusts were so bad that they caused my traction control light to appear on my dash . At one point it also disabled my cruise control. Anyways about a kilometre up the road was a vehicle travelling in the same direction. The next minute I found myself taking evasive action to avoid said vehicle as it had stopped in the lane with I presume a flat battery. As I went around it the hazard lights were finally switched on! It may have been a lack of attention on my part but man, no other vehicles around & I almost hit it - I was in disbelief!!! Just goes to show that a windy day can also be detrimental to the range of your Nissan Leaf. I don't know how much power hazard lights draw but scarey stuff!!! To be fair to the Leaf driver there was no shoulder on the highway to pull off & the next lay by was 1km away...

Yes Simon absolute insanity and I watched a documentary just recently where Bugatti was making I think it was 25 limited editions of an outrageously horse-powered car but before one could buy one - and from memory the price was $12M a pop - one had to own the two previous models or go without. The sad and rather sick thing was that these limited versions/models were already sold out!! This net zero delusion is so out of control.
Hi, I friend [in the UK] has just moved on a Taycan which he used for two years. The car was valued at £55k! That's a huge drop compared to what was paid! That's not depreciation. That just makes the 'device' a financial loss, even for a rich person😢 Go for a Toyota hybrid. At least you have guaranteed range!😂
It used to be the joke about huge gas guzzlers that the fuel gauge arrow moved along the dial quicker than the rev counter. Now for EVs perhaps they should have a dial showing the financial depreciation 🤔
To be honest, UK's car sales are essentially on life support by now. Majority of consumers would have bought cheap chinese cars if the tariffs weren't there

The tariffs will keep them off for now but who knows what might happen in a few years
Keeping an old car running beats the system. Past 150000 miles you have exited the new car money churn. Congrats.
B4 the European car industry goes tits up, they should get together and design a really cheap plastic EV (like an Ami..but even cheaper/lighter) which they can sell for £3K and break even. Every ICE car sold should come with a free EV. Once it becomes clear that this madness is only needed to save jobs, it might become obvious to political ideologues that mandating EV's is not green and not clever...but I wouldn't hold my breath! 😂
How about the battery-powered cars you see kids driving on the pavement the day after Christmas? Could they be called EV's? How much do they cost? Would that do the trick?
Might even fit in the boot of the real cars they are given away with.
That's not a bad idea, to deal with the Green Madness Agenda!
Great idea!
A mini-Mini EV for an ICE Mini 😆

I did think of that...I just thought they would probably have to be road registered in order to meet Comandant Stamers requirements. 😁👍🏻
Spooky how that illustrator's joke actually reflects reality. I don't think he knew that scenario was real when he did the cartoon - but it is.
Once again, life imitates art! It's almost as if there is a great spirit somewhere that is subliminally communicating future events to us . . . like how the American TV show Laugh-In predicted, in a "future news" segment, Ronald Reagan becoming president (they said 1976, so they were only one election cycle off) and The Simpsons predicting a Trump presidency. Crazy how that happens.
Are people not paying attention?
This EV mandate forcing manufacturers to sell a certain percentage (and increasing over time) of EVs or get fined was passed a few years ago now. 2021 it was first drawn up I think, under all this "Net Zero" nonsens, but for some reason people are only starting to notice it NOW, that it's finally affecting what choices they have available to them in the real world. It's going to get worse and worse every year until in 11 years time we have zero choice left.
Just imagine how great this is for the environment. 😂
One to drive, one on charge and one spare. Plus you can put a bumper sticker on all of them "my other car is a Porsche".
Quick, turn it into an ad! 🤣
What does an EV owner and a person with diarrhea have in common? They both hope to get home before it runs out!
Just drove 660 km yesterday with my EV, a pleasure to drive.
@@gerbre1 And it took you 3 times as long as it should have.
@@jimmydesouza4375One stop on the way to the target (12 min) and one stop on the way back (22 min) with a modern EV.
Give your mum her phone back and do your homework
The circus is in town the clowns are out defending the turd EV
WOW!! Now THAT was an eye opener!! Thanks for the video. Frank -- Alberta, Canada
My 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4 litre is looking better by the minute. Cheers from Vancouver Island
It's just like Rolex, you have to buy two or three crap ones that nobody wants to get on a waiting list for the one you do want. In the case of the Porsche, Ferrari or the Rolex, just buy a different brand.
...and quite often the cars (and watches) are overrated.
I think the “ Mac Master “ would loose his fish and chips hearing this one .
There is a chap in the UK who has a YT channel (The MacMaster), and he purchased a Taycan for £130k three years ago. He has now been offered £33k max for it. One online car buying company actually refused to make him an offer.
One must buy 3 lemons before being allowed to buy a peach.
Hahahahaha! 😂😂😂
This is just *_TOO_* perfect!
Great video, Simon. It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World.
Still can't figure out why rich people can be so desperate to throw their money away.....
I often wonder how some of them made their money in the first place. To the guy on this video's credit though, I don't think he's going ahead with the 'deal'.....
@@bunion8579 No, he eventually bought a "lightly used" GT3 RS from one of the many people who flip them for profit
I will probably still be laughing when I wake up tomorrow morning 😂
4:30 the reason why “supercars” are so scares is because if politics which only allow a very limited number to be produced. Hence demand is way higher than supply hence the price goes up. It’s all due to government intervention in the market
Just think about that MacMaster could have had all three strategically placed for those challenges with Geoff Buys Cars. But then Lee would have to make three stops and Geoff none..... Thankyou Simon, please keep exposing this absurdity....
Well on a brighter note, your shirt looks great!
Even if they gifted him him all three, the upcoming “hazardous disposal fee” will bite.
I dont get it, how can an EV have a turbo. Sounds gay to me.
I suppose it's for the kind of buyer who has enough money to spend on such a car, but doesn't actually know what a turbo is - only that fast cars seem to have them. The kind of person who would buy an EV, I suppose.
Because turbos both blow and suck...
😂😂😂
Yes very happy
The turbo in an EV is actually an extractor fan that extracts the farts from the driver and expel it to the outside....
The old joke about the guy who hires a handyman to paint his porch and finds green brush strokes on his $200,000 dollar car. 😂
"That wasn't a porch, it was one of them thar' Marsaydees!"😮
"I had some paint over so I've done your Ferrari too"
There’s always a loophole.
@@julosx I had lunch in Andorra once.
Very Pretty place I wanted to spend more time there but I had a flight to catch at Heathrow to get to Auto Bahns are fun
Thanks Simon.
I don't have tons of money but I have been changing my cars every three three years for quite a while (Slightly cheaper for me as I work in the motor industry and can get two cars a year at cost should I want). I am now into my fifth year of ownership of my latest car and will be keeping it for the next ten years as all this crap in the car industry has severely limited my choices. I saw this coming years ago and bought this car with longevity in mind as I knew I would be owning it for a long while.
I wondered when dealers were going to do 'buy an EV, get a free ICE!', but this is even worse!
I hope the car manufacturers are selling a lot of milk floats to make up the numbers.
It s a good time to be a chevy man
Wow that is insane. I had heard that the dealers wouldn't take them back for love or money but this overtakes the Ferrari snob list by miles. So much tech in such a big flop.
Wow!, this is insane.
I wake up each morning and wonder what madness has befallen the world overnight, and this is hilarious 😂😂😂
It's not madness. It's not hilarious. It's malice. To the people in charge, you are the enemy. They want your money and your life. And if not your life, then at least your freedom.
Excellent post, MGman. Maybe you already have, but if not, sometime take us for a ride in your MG.
This is the EV equivalent of being forced to buy a 20-pack of AAA batteries when you only need 2.🤮
Turbo S is misleading to me.
Happy with my Honda Jazz. Spoke to a neighbour about the car I would buy if I had the money - Honda NSX. Would you believe it, a Honda NSX in red just drove round our corner - WOW! - Proper cars
TH-cam EV advertisement on this video made me laugh out loud
Hi MGUY ! Love your work!!!! I'm all for saving the planet especially being a father of 4 but I struggle a bit with all this fancy going electric stuff!
The guy on TH-cam who has the 3yr old version Taycan only got offered £32,000. Now they also want him to pay certain amount subscription to use EV apps in the car. Car was like £130,000 new.. crazy!
My buddy bought a Taycan a couple years ago, loves his car (what else would he say) because he paid ~$300k here in Canada, and he can’t drive 100 kms without a recharge, honestly.
Ha ha but he can play the macho man and say I have a Porsche😂😂😂😂
From the Green Party's stand point, we must become 3x more ecological with 3 EVs per person.
Jay Leno says he doesn't own a ferrari and never will because of their ridiculous purchasing rules.
He drives other people's Ferraris instead. Now, that's clever.
Thank you from Italy! o/ !
Cars so good they have to force you to buy one
Have you see the Mac Master's channel. His Taycan went from £120,000 to £30,000 in value in just over 2 years. Imagine losing £90,000 (177,000 AUD)!!!!
Imagine to get a Porsche for 30,000.
I thought for sure MGUY was exaggerating, but nope he was not. Porshe is going down in flames on the EV madness.
Well, my answer would be "Porsche, you can stick your Taycans and your GT3 where the sun don't shine!".
What government is doing to companies and in turn the citizens is disgusting. Let people have what they want. Eventually this will come back to bite the government and it wont be pretty.
Who's stopping you from buying your own dream car? Last time I checked I could have bought either a gas or an electric car
You're ears will be burning when the Macmaster see's this😂😂😂
Porsche TinCan. Who would want one?
3:02 ,going to need that Benadryl colored pink just to numb the itch & pain of buying those EV porches
The MacMaster (on his TH-cam channel) said he wanted to trade in his three-year-old Porsche Taycan EV at a Porsche dealer. He wanted to trade for a petrol car. They told him they would only take his car in trade for another EV.
BTW, he recently said his £120,000 three-year-old Porsche Taycan EV is now only worth about £30,000. Ouch!
George Orwell is spinning in his grave at 7500 RPM.
Someone told me that this happens with high end watches too.
Glad that’s not me.😅
Funny because it’s true!😂 Thanks for the video, Simon. Cheers mate.🇨🇦🇦🇺👍
Before he gave the number I estimated a 60% loss...the loss is 55,8% based on the numbers. This is just insanity...where will it all end?
Not insanity. It's an enslavement project.
Ridiculous has a new standard.
This is madness! Poor MacMaster! 🙂
Hi, I friend [in the UK] has just moved on a Taycan which he used for two years. The car was valued at £55k! That's a huge drop compared to what was paid! That's not depreciation. That just makes the 'device' a financial loss, even for a rich person😢
Go for a Toyota hybrid. At least you have guaranteed range!😂
Be the adult in the room and just say no....
Or be an adult do your homework, make up your own mind and then buy want you want.
It used to be the joke about huge gas guzzlers that the fuel gauge arrow moved along the dial quicker than the rev counter.
Now for EVs perhaps they should have a dial showing the financial depreciation 🤔
I first read the title as "Life inmates art" I thought this was going to be about prisoners making art lol
Yeah I screwed up there! 😜
The way Josef Starlin is going, it's only a matter of time before Matt is drawing his cartoons from HMP Belmarsh 🙄
Inmates in 15-minute cities. You won't need a car where you are going.
That's how they'll kill ice cars in the UK, as effectively £K15 is being added to the price of one.
To be honest, UK's car sales are essentially on life support by now. Majority of consumers would have bought cheap chinese cars if the tariffs weren't there
It will just reduce the demand for new cars until manufacturers start producing cars that people want to buy.
We are living in some insane times right now
What's going on in my experience of 85 years is bizarre!
I'm glad we have two peteol cars that we can nurse along for the next decade...
A person would have to be brain dead to entertain the idea of purchasing 3 of these electrified heaps of junk just so he has the chance of buying the car he wanted. 🤦♂️

Gobsmacked. This is carrying insanity to an insane limit! #DontBeAFool #DontBuyAnEV (or 3!)

I'm waiting for a vehicle manufacturer to grow a pair, stick two fingers to Comrade Starmer and say ok, so take us to court, we are not paying your fine.
Nobody needs to offer me a car. I can find my own.
For us normal people that’s like going to the butcher and having to buy three sausages before you can look at the lamb chops
Three sausages is a good analogy alright!
American Express does something even more extreme. In order to get a highly prized Black Card, one must first carry the Platinum Card ($450/year last I knew) for a certain number of years, spend a minimum of $50k PER MONTH (balance in full paid at the end of each month) and then HOPE to get an invitation for the Black Card. There's no such thing as an application for it. That card (again, last I knew) was $2,500/year AND the same fee for your wife or anyone else you add to the account
Absolutely criminal
