Originally was stationed out of Pearl Harbor 2002-2006. I would have to agree, spent around half my time (or a little more) either being deployed or underway. But, I met a local girl got married and I'm still out here since I fell in love with the islands

Schofield. Whoop whoop. Get back there in the dole plantation and hit that water fall folks. It's str8 back from the back line of houses. Awesome spot.

After about 4 months, I was counting down to the day when I could get the "H" out of that place!

I heard and read that there are gangs in Hawaii.
    Please expand on this subject.
Also, tell us how to void them?
    What neighborhoods are they in?
And should we avoid wearing certain colors red or blue?

Can you assist with getting military families into rental homes/rental apartments close to Schofield barracks? Also, best recommendations for rental places to stay and rates/quality/ process?

I know a lot of native Hawaiians and since the majority of them live in poverty. They don’t see the military bases as being good for the economy. They see them as people who evaded Hawaii and stole there land and culture from them. After Hawaii was invaded by the US and given to a bunch of business men. It now costs a fortune to live there. It’s a paradise to everyone visiting there except for the natives who actually live in little shantytowns working as dishwashers and cooks. Because they can’t make enough money because everything is a fortune. I personally don’t agree with that it’s just what I was told.

Frankly I would move all bases out with all the Gi s and see how they survive 😒. Don't blame the military look at the expendive hotels for the rich ✌✌

You don’t agree with that but it’s the truth and historically accurate. Hawaii was overthrown by force. Prices of housing and the cost of living is unaffordable. But the military gets COLA and Housing expenses paid for. Tax free food and shopping, and military discounts. When the Military purchase homes you are able to get 0 down and low interest rates. The housing that is purchased or rented is in direct competition to single starter first time home owners or a young growing family looking for a single family home. You are also able to invest every year whereas as conventional loans to locals don’t allow that. Also when you leave and rent or sell it’s typically to other military, so the local family can’t compete to buy and can’t even rent the property. Now the majority of the Hawaiian population live off the islands out of Hawaii. Let that sink in. Every house you buy is a house taken from Hawaiians. Supply and demand. We appreciate your service but this is our reality. Why not live on base and not have to commute to work? It’s free housing for you paid for by our tax dollars.
