    Funnily enough Greece’s manager in 04 was actually a tremendous manager, multiple Bundesliga titles to his name with Werder Bremen. Southgate can’t even get a job in the efl championship.

    I’ve watched all of these post match reactions and I still have no idea what Joey is in about. The general apologetics on England by the media are embarrassing. They are, by far, the worst performing side I’ve ever seen. I don’t mean worst side, I mean worst ‘performing’ side. The talent/capacity of the squad compared to the dross they are producing every game is atrocious. England absolutely will not win this tournament even though they have all the potential to, so all of this ‘pro England’ orthodoxy is pure apologetics or conjecture. It’s actually quite pathetic that the majority of the country can see what a select few media ‘experts’ can’t

      1) in Knockout football it is rare that more than 1 or 2 goals are scored. Wins by 1 goal or penalties is very normal.
      2) we need to be realistic, we do not have a history of doing anything at tournaments (especially when we are not the host nation). We’ve had better squads in the past who have been better from 1-11, and not done nearly as well as Southgate has done over the last few years.

      @dopeyrelaxingsounds8607 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      @@proballah7 That's not the point though is it. Not having a history of doing anything at tournaments isn't a valid argument to piss a "golden generation" up the wall. We had better squads in the past when our opposition had ridiculously better squads than us. This is not the case anymore. Southgate doing better and winning nothing with what's considered the lucky/easy routes to the final is underachieving. Eriksson hypothetically beating Brazil in 2002, with players like Ronaldinho, R9, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, would surely be overachieving, especially if we got to the final of that WC and beat Germany.
      You don't win trophies for doing better, you win trophies for winning. What's worse is Southgate is holding us back. We have the PL/La Liga POTS, Bundesliga top goalscorer, 40/40+ goal contributions Palmer and Ollie Watkins, treble winners, Rice and Saka who finished a point off of winning the PL. You're not being realistic at all, you're making excuses.

Change the setup or change Kane. I would not sacrifice one of the best strikers of this generation, but I'm not the coach. Foden wants to score, Saka wants to score, Rice is taking shots from the 30 yard line. This is not how a team works. Similar to Ronaldo in this Euros. You can't setup a team where a striker needs service but then put a bunch of people around them that want to be the hero for themselves. It has never and will never work.

    Tactically we got it right in the first half, the lineup was very similar but pushing trippier and saka high and having rice drop deep created a lot of space for Bellingham, foden linked up well with saka who was basically his only option. If we had Shaw or Chillwell and replaced Kane I think we put two goals away.
    The second half was very poor, subs were poor and tactically it fell completely apart but remember we only went back for analysis after the penalties where everyone was buzzing.
    Very few people were suggesting dropping kane before the game.

    I think it’s absolutely crazy that people are so desperately wanting Kane out. Before this tournament on paper he is 1 of the BEST STRIKERS IN EUROPE. You need star players like him TO WIN TOURNAMENTS there is 0 chance we would win with out him, Star players like Kane, Bellingham,Saka are what win games, just look at the Bellingham goal and then kanes ,they wasn’t playing that well but at the end of the day these sort of players will have those MAJICAL MOMMENTS and you need that. I also think that it’s partly the SYSTEM that doesn’t suit Kane’s play style. we need GOOD crosses in the box for Kane, and having 2 WRONG footed players on the wings means he gets LIMITED GOOD CROSES so ofc he’s not gonna be scoring as much.

    With how they are talking about him you wouldn't think Kane scored the most goals in Europe this past season.
    Kane isn't finished. He just doesn't thrive in this system. He should definitely adapt his game because he must have realised that dropping deep isn't doing anything for England. Southgate might be better served making him a super sub when England are forced to be more attacking.
    Also, it's laughable to think Kane would shy away from a pen. Remember he took the first pen in the Euros final vs Italy and taken pens in pretty much every shootout before that. I know he's been ineffective, but let's not dispose of common sense.

    Kane deserves the same criticism that ronaldo was getting. Kane is literally shooting sitters off target. He's slower than ronaldo by a. Country mile, his off ball movement hasn't been practically useful for anyone (judge by the results, no one is finding him) he's simply a classic number 9, in a modern man's game. Absolutely can't create anything for himself and needs to be served on a silver plate to be even considered useful. If you want to judge an over the hill ronaldo by those standards, by god Kane is a worse version of the over the hill ronaldo from usefulness. Enjoy his pressing and his long balls, if that's what you want from your 9. Slow, hard to find, and can't get the shot on target when it matters
